Your trust is very important to us. So the BBC is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal information.

It is important that you read this notice so that you are aware of how and why we are using such information. This privacy notice describes how we collect and use personal information about you during and after your relationship with us, in accordance with data protection law.

What will we collect and how will we use it?

The BBC will collect and process the personal information that you have provided to us about yourself and your child under 13 years old. This personal information is you and your child’s name, and your email contact details.

The personal information that you provide will be processed for the purposes of making CBBC Picture Maker which will appear on the CBBC website and on the CBBC channel, and may be repeated.

The BBC is the “data controller” of this information. This means that the BBC decides what your personal information is used for, and the ways in which it is processed. Where you choose to provide your child’s personal information and to give your parental or guardian’s consent to the BBC using this information, your consent will be the legal basis for the processing of your child’s information.

Retaining your information

If your contribution is used, the BBC will store the contribution and personal information for 7 years in line with our standard retention policy.

If your child’s contribution is not used, the contribution and personal information will be deleted 30 days after submission.

Sharing your information

This personal data will be shared with two approved suppliers StreamUK and ICUC.Social used by the BBC to provide the uploading technology and moderation services. The information you provide will not be shared with any other third parties outside of the BBC without your prior permission. Where you have provided the BBC with content generated by your child, please be aware that they may be identifiable from this content.
