From Friday 11th March 2016 our Appsolute Genius: Escape Escargot app will no longer be available from iOS and Android stores. If you already have the app you will be able to continue playing it but unfortunately CBBC will not be able to fix it if it stops working.

Please contact cbbc.apps@bbc.co.uk if you would like further information.

What is the Appsolute Genius app?

Appsolute Genius: Escargot Escape Artistes is the competition winning game from Dick N Dom’s Appsolute Genius ‘design a game’ competition!

Le Dude the Escargot – that’s a snail to you and me - is happily dreaming of a lovely, juicy lettuce leaf… But what’s this? The Eiffel tower chef wants Le Dude as the main ingredient in his special dish of the day!

Oh no! Escargot, ESCAPE!!! Climb the Eiffel Tower to freedom.

Don’t forget to look out for Hacker T Dog and Steve Backshall, they’re here to help you on your way!

Why does Escargot ask for certain permissions on my device?

When you install Escargot it will ask for access to specific settings on your device, such as:

• Camera/Photos/Device ID and call info: This game is developed using Unity software, Unity enables games to access these features, however it does not use them.
• Microphone: This is so the game can access setting for users with motor impairment, which enables them to make selections using audio initiation.
• Wi-Fi: This is so the game can update if necessary.

How do I activate the accessibility mode?

If you have a motor impairment, Escargot Escape Artistes includes two accessibility modes.
To activate these, wait for 20 seconds on the main menu screen and a screen will display that asks you to turn them on.
When the red box highlights the option you would like, tap anywhere on the screen.

The two options are:
Auto scan
Sound activated
Auto scan puts a red box around buttons on the page. Press anywhere on the screen to activate that button when it's highlighted.

Sound activated is like auto scan, but uses sound instead of touch to press buttons. You'll see an on-screen meter to know how loud you have to be. Make sure you're in a quiet room!

You can also turn accessibility settings on or off from the 'Accessibility' button in the 'More Info' menu.
