As expected, British actor Colin Firth has picked up a nod in the best actor category for his role in The King's Speech. Both actors are favoured to each pick up an Oscar following their respective successes in the recently awarded Golden Globes.

The 2011 Academy Awards will be held in Los Angeles on 27 February.
