ER Afghanistan

In the 11.30 slot on Monday 24 May we're broadcasting ER Afghanistan.

Jackie Bird travelled to Camp Bastion in Afghanistan to follow the medical reservists of 205 Scottish Field Hospital as they begin a four-month assignment treating casualties from across Helmand Province - both soldiers and afghans who are injured as a result of the conflict.

Jackie and her team recorded the programme in February 2010, and she wrote a daily blog for the BBC News site detailing her thoughts and experiences from the frivolous such as arguing about the heating in the tent to the serious - watching the medical reservists fighting to save the life of an Afghan national who'd been caught in an IED (improvised explosive device) and had suffered multiple limb loss.
