Robert Smith from The Cure

This year's Bestival was notable for many things, not least the amount of people dressed in animal outfits and oversized sunglasses. However in a line up which included the majesty of Bjork, Mercury Prize winner PJ Harvey and Primal Scream doing 'Screamadelica' in full, the most talked about artist online by a country mile was Saturday night headliners, The Cure.

Playing a two and a half hour career-spanning set from 'A Forest' and 'Killing An Arab,' via 'Close To Me', 'Friday I'm In Love', though to their later noughties material, Robert Smith and company demonstrated what an essential part they've played in alternative music over the last three decades.

So on this Friday's Now Playing we want to doff our cap to the band by collaborating on a Cure inspired playlist. What Cure tracks do you want to hear? What about bands who they've influenced like Interpol and Editors? Anyone want to dig out any Robert Smith collaborations? Or how about some of the myriad Cure cover versions from acts as diverse as Dinosaur Jr to The Futureheads?

Leave a suggestion below, chat to us on the 6 Music Facebook page, add a tune to our collaborative Spotify Playlist, or tweet us. Whatever you do, this Friday from 7pm on BBC 6 Music is the time to be in love with The Cure.
