Production Sandy | 15:20 UK time, Friday, 12 March 2010

Listen back to last nights show, where I tested J2K, Rox, Tinie Tempah, Skepta and Sway about how much they really knew about Newcastle. It's worth a listen just to hear them all attempt to do the
Geordie accent - J2K was the funniest by far!

Sandy's Shenanigans In Newcastle

Production Sandy | 19:54 UK time, Monday, 8 March 2010

On Saturday night I was in Newcastle as part of 'In New Music We Trust'. I was running around backstage with my mic and camera representing team Jam. I made a few drinks behind the bar with Mclean, spoke to Rox about fashion and Tinie made me a cup of tea while he was waiting to go on stage. Here's a sneak peak of how much Tinie smashed it on stage in Newcastle- it was crazy!

Bashy, Beats and Badness!

Production Sandy | 12:11 UK time, Friday, 5 March 2010

Last night Bashy passed through the show to perform his track 'When the Sky Falls' as it's this weeks 'Jam Hot Record of The Week'. He spoke about his music, new film 'Shank' and ideal on screen lady.

Plus...we played the impressions game!. Bashy, CJ Beatz (Bashy's DJ) and Loick Essien (who features on the track 'When the Sky Falls' and Chipmunk's 'Beast') all got involved. We got them to do famous lines from big films such as Scarface, Forest Gump, Terminator and Coming To America - it was too funny!

Listen back to Bashy's performance, CJ Beatz Guest Mix and if you're a fan of 'Coming to America' you need to listen to Loick Essien's performance of 'Sexual Chocolate'.

Production Sandy | 22:43 UK time, Monday, 1 March 2010

On Wednesday night my Radio 1Xtra show came live from the newly acquired studio of Redlight & Toddla T in West London for future music week of Radio 1Xtra's Homegrown Month. I got samples from some of my fellow Radio 1 and Radio 1Xtra colleagues that they had to incorporate into the track (big up to Mary Anne Hobbs for the idea!) including the sound of Annie Mac mimicking Shakira's She Wolf howl, Donae'o shouting 'SUSHI' and Huw Stephens bellowing "pancake" in welsh. To make it even more complex, we got some top flight vocalists to come and sid dung toppa di riddim, sid dung untoppadi vershan: J2K, Roses Gabor, Lady Chann & Jammer. Here's the highlights from the 'making of' the track;
