Miss Landmine Angola 2008

Miss Landmine Angola, a project backed by the Angolan government, hopes to raise awareness of the continuing suffering caused by landmines in the country. The culmination of the project will be a beauty pageant starring women injured by landmines. While a number of high profile blogs have supported the initiative it's also been controversial with some feeling that the event is "commodifying suffering"

We heard a little from the creator of the Miss Landmine project Morten Traavick on the programme, but due to time constraints it was a very short edit of the interview that focused on the controversy.
