Essential: Larkins are a four-piece from Manchester who have been supported by Introducing since 2015. They are made up of Josh, Dom, Joe and Henry who all went to school together in Derbyshire. The band is influenced by Foals, Led Zeppelin and Wolf Alice.

BBC 1Xtra: Jelani Blackman – Nobody’s Son

Jelani Blackman is on the legendary 1Xtra playlist! Tune in to Nick, Mim, Dotty, Twin and Yasmin all week to hear the gorgeous 'Nobody's Son'.

Essential: Jelani Blackman is a rapper and singer from Ladbroke Grove in West London. Music has always been a part of his life, but he burst on the scene back in 2014 with his track ‘Twenty//Thirty’. He has previously worked with Jarreau Vandall, Abra Cadabra and Brian Eno, and he used to be in a indie rock and soul band with Theo from Wolf Alice, who are also supported by Introducing! Jelani is influenced by Dizzee Rascal, The Fugees, Mary J Blige and Dr Dre and he says that his new single ‘Nobody’s Son’ came out of a struggle and the journey of self-growth, and is about reclaiming independence and leaving negativity behind.
