BBC Introducing & PRS for Music Foundation head to SXSW 2016

Tonight, Jo Whiley and Steve Lamacq joined Huw Stephens on his Radio 1 show to announce the line-up for the BBC Introducing & PRS for Music Foundation showcase at South by Southwest (SXSW) Music Festival 2016.

In it's 30th year this year, the legendary music festival that takes place in Austin, Texas will see no fewer than 2,220 acts, from the unsigned to the iconic, play across over 100 venues in just 6 days. With so many hotly tipped bands competing for slots during the festival it can be hard to make an impact; but with our track record of line-ups from Florence + the Machine back in 2008, to Royal Blood in 2014, to last year’s line-up with the likes of SOAK and Jack Garratt, we’re quietly confident about this year’s exciting British exports…

We’re proud to partner once again with PRS for Music Foundation, they provide invaluable help for up and coming artists in the UK, if you’re making music then it’s well worth checking out how they can support you here.

The showcase takes place at the Latitude 30 venue in Austin, which is part of the British Music Embassy on Wednesday 16th March and you’ll be able to hear highlights on Huw Stephens, Steve Lamacq and Jo Whiley’s radio shows throughout that week as they all broadcast live from Austin, Texas. We’ll also be filming every act on the line-up and bringing you lots of behind the scenes action from the showcase. So don't be a stranger and keep an eye out for videos and photos appearing during and after the event on BBC Introducing's social media channels and website.
