BBC 1Xtra: Murkage Dave - See Man Smile

This week Murkage Dave steps up into the Introducing hot spot on 1Xtra's playlist! Tune in to the network to hear 'See Man Smile' for the next seven days!

Supported by: Our mates at BBC Music Introducing in London

Style: R&B.

Essential: Murkage Dave is a singer and songwriter from Leytonstone who has been championed by Introducing in London. 'See Man Smile' is taken from Dave’s debut album ‘Murkage Dave Changed My Life’ which dropped last year. Dave is influenced by Stevie Wonder, Mac DeMarco, SZA and The Smiths and he has previously collaborated with Mike Skinner, and has supported The Streets, Jaykae, Skepta on tour.

He said: “‘See Man Smile’ is a record about going out with your friends and everything that comes with that: the excitement, the social anxiety, the drink, the drugs, seeing someone you like and then worrying about speaking to them. We’re always chasing that moment where nothing else matters. Where we just feel comfortable in our own skin. Sometimes we get there sometimes we don’t."
