End of Summer Blues...

I've been shaking them end of summer blues off by going out and about recently. Last week I went to see Euros Childs and the Dodos play in London, a great gig with two very special bands. I was djing at the new Matter venue last week too on the live bands launch night - Unkle and Iglu & Hartly played (the latter being the new Bloodhound Gang according to a friend, and who am I to argue?). The highlight for me in the supa-dupa new club was Late of the Pier. Last time I saw them was at the Barfly in Cardiff so to see them on a big stage was a pleasure and they filled it well witht heir wonky-synth-melodies. I was in Leeds last night djing with Hazy Dave at the Freshers Ball. With the Vengaboys on in the room next door and everyone wanting to see them (apart from the faithful who danced to the mix of MGMT/Golden Silvers/Prince - nice), it was strange to say the least. Still, got to meet the Vengaboys in a lift. Every cloud etc...I'm off to Aberystwyth Uni on Thursday and Sheffield on Friday if you;re in the area...

This week on the show expect the weekly dose of essential new sounds from way out; Flashguns are in session and after their performance at Leeds and Reading on the Introducing stage, get prepared a band to keep both eyes on in the future...
