Another gig frenzy

I've been getting loads of emails about Scouting For Girls who were in session on the show last week (and still up to listen to till Wednesday night). Their Wolf Cub Club are a keen lot, and don't worry, I'll carry on to play them on the show too, and I chose them for a spin on Steve Lamacqs In New Music We Trust Show last night too.

Also, on Saturday morning I chose The Holloways' Generator single on Reggie Yates' breakfast show on his New Music Generator. Any other Radio 1 DJs want me to pick tracks to spin? I'd be more than happy to oblige!

Been to loads of gigs since dubstepping to Pinch and Digital Mystikz last week on Peel Day. Saw the ace Ffyrc and Zabrinski in Cardiff last Friday. Ffyrc are Mark and Paul (ex-Catatonia members) new band, and are eally good. Zabrinski are a young band from Carmarthen, who are always ace live, with their psychedelic grooves.

Saturday in Belgium (where the missus currently lives) I saw the Pipettes play their perfect pop tunes, not in polka dots but new distinguished outfits, and Sunday a three piece avant-garde multi-instrument improvised performance featuring Welshman Rhodri Davies.

And last night, as a treat, I went to see Divine Comedy. Neil Hannon's band were one of the first I got into through their Casanova album (still their best I reckon), and his superb songwriting and beautiful tunes from the album tracks (there's been 9 albums to date) to hit singles are always a pleasure to hear.

Getting ready for tomorrow nights show now. More on that later....
