We caught up with David Witts aka Joey Branning aka Inside Soap Awards' Sexiest Male as voted by YOU the public, to find out how he feels about his new hunk status...
How do you feel about winning Sexiest Male award at the Inside Soap Awards?
Absolutely ridiculous, I disagree entirely with the decision. I definitely think you could have found a better looking male. Maybe my mum voted for me a thousand times. That’s probably what it was...
Do you feel uncomfortable being called a soap hunk?
I don’t know how to take that term when people say it to me, because I’ve never been a hunk in any aspect of my life, so when people say it to me, I always question them, make sure they’ve got the right person!
Were you not considered a hunk at school?
No, not in the slightest, I had braces and glasses and long hair!
Do you often work out, what’s your work out regime?
I’ve been training for about 5 years now, just as a hobby. Everyone says that it’s a bit much, as I train 5 times a week, but it’s just a hobby, everyone’s got a hobby… I do weight lifting, body building. I train with a guy called Chris Jones who is British No. 1. He teaches me a lot, he’s very good.

The winner will be announced on the 15th of November.

EastEnders is no stranger to explosive stunts, but the show is taking it to another level for an episode crashing onto your telly boxes boxes later this year. We can practically feel the heat coming off our computer screens!
The crew have been out on location, filming a spectacular scene during the past week - culminating in a rather big bang.
Here’s a sneaky look at what’s going on during the week commencing 24th of September…
After both being at a loose end, AJ, who is never one to miss out on some fun, suggests he and Roxy go for a cheeky afternoon drink. Sparks fly between the two and it's not long before AJ invites Roxy back to the Masoods'.
Zainab seethes at the lack of respect AJ has for her house and Masood suggests Roxy leaves. However, as AJ shows Roxy the door, he goes in for a kiss and realises just how keen Roxy is on him... Will Masood and Zainab manage to stop AJ sneaking Roxy upstairs, or will passion win out...
Come back next Tuesday for some more shocking spoilers…
BBC Radio 2 is set to air an hour-long pilot for new music radio drama, Shout to the Top, starring our very own Shane Richie!
Shout to the Top, which will air on September 25 at 10pm, is the story of an 80’s girl band trying to break into the tough music business. Shane plays Vince; a pub land lord (well we all know he can do that well!), passionate amateur singer and the dad of the band’s lead singer, Rain.
When a record company comes knocking, Vince jumps at the chance to be the bands’ manager to give the girls some credibility.
Here’s what Shane has to say about the show:
“It was a great honour and a wonderful opportunity to be asked to be part of this drama for Radio 2. The script is fantastic and I was surrounded by some wonderful new talent which I am sure we will see more from in the future.”
Olympic silver medallists Richard and Peter Chambers were able to bring some bling to Albert Square recently, when they paid a visit to EastEnders studios at BBC Elstree.
The pair, who were part of the silver medal winning lightweight men's four rowing team and big fans of the show, caught up with the likes of Shane Richie, Steve McFadden and Adam Woodyatt during the visit, along with Walford's very own Olympic hero, Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick).
We couldn't resist taking some snaps or Richard and Peter's visit to share with you:
EastEnders has been nominated in the soap category at the Mind Media awards. The Mind Media awards celebrate the best portrayals of mental health in the media, and we’re nominated for Ian’s breakdown storyline.
EastEnders worked closely with Time to Change, an anti-stigma campaign, to make sure Ian’s situation was portrayed accurately. Time to Change is run by the charities Mind and Rethink Mental Illness. We also worked closely with Time to Change supporter Kevin Shepherd, who advised the writers from first hand experience of mental illness.
Ed Sellek is back with his latest take on life in Walford. This time Kim and Denise get into a fizz about an unusual shopping list!
Ed will return in October with Easties strip number five. Meanwhile, why not check out strips 1-3?
The queen of glam is set to make a speedy visit to The Square within the next few months. We all know that Amira (Preeya Kalidas) has done her best to spilt up ex-hubby Syed and Christian in the past - is she coming back to have one more go?!
The big question is does she have something to do with Syed and Christian's impending departure? Hmm, watch this space...
We're thrilled to announce that EastEnders has won three sparkling gongs at the 2012 TVChoice Awards.

Shane said: "Just wanted to say a massive THANK YOU to each & everyone of you that voted for me, tony & of course eastenders, it means so much to all of us here in Walford, we love ya !!!"
And we caught up with Tony who has put his award on his mantelpiece in pride of place, saying: "I'd just like to say thank you to everyone who voted. It means a lot - I'm chuffed to bits!"
EastEnders' Executive Producer Lorraine Newman added:
“To be recognised as worthy winners in 3 out of the 4 categories we were nominated in - especially at a ceremony where the awards are voted for purely by the viewers - is a tremendous achievement. The reaction to the show at the moment is incredible, and the response in the room every time a clip from the Live Olympic Torch episode was shown last night was amazing.”

A sign of things to come...
Big drama is in store this week, as two of the Square's relationships hit crisis point...
Here's a look at what's going on during the week commencing 17th Sept...
Poor Tyler is having to take orders from the new Emporium owner - Derek. Plus, his big bro Anthony has left him high and dry. So, when Joey starts to wind him up he loses it and.. well.. the picture speaks for itself!
Pop back on Tuesday for more juicy spoiler pics...
Exec Producer: Lorraine Newman told us: "Marc and John have been a fantastic part of EastEnders and the characters of Syed and Christian have been a huge success for the show. Their storylines have broken boundaries that have not been seen in a soap before and the love for them by the viewers can be seen in the "Chryed" fans.
"When Marc announced he had decided to move on, we had a tough decision to make and after numerous conversations, which included John, it was decided that there is only one outcome for Syed and Christian. We wish them both all the best for the future."
"I have had a brilliant time on EastEnders over the last three and a half years and made some amazing friends," revealed Marc Elliott. "During this time, I have been blessed with some incredible storylines and am especially pleased that the show has tackled and raised awareness of the sensitive subject matter of being a gay muslim.
"As an actor you are always looking for new challenges and I feel that now is the right time to move on and explore different projects, perhaps returning to my roots in theatre. I would like to thank everyone at EastEnders for the wonderful opportunity they have given me and for making this experience so much fun."
"I have had the time of my life at EastEnders - but I have always gone with my gut - and leaving at the same time as Marc felt like the ONLY thing to do," added John Partridge. "It is the right end to the story and for Christian. But also, excitingly, the start of a whole new chapter for me."
Details of the duo's departure are currently under wraps, but we'll be revealing more nearer the time.
Clare Perkins is set to join the EastEnders cast later this year as Cora's long lost daughter Ava. Her arrival into The Square is sure to come as a massive shock to Tanya, as Cora told her that Ava had died shortly after she was born!
When asked about her feelings on joining EastEnders, Clare has said, "I am delighted to be joining the show but to be working alongside Ann Mitchell makes it a dream come true. I have admired Ann's work for many years, and both she and Jo (Joyner) have been a real pleasure to work with. I'm now looking forward to see what the writers have in store for Ava".
Details of Ava's entrance are being kept top secret... will it be happy families in Walford? We doubt it!
Poor Kim doesn't know what she's letting her self in for! She attempts to keep up with super fit Ray as they go off for a run. Denise decides to see them off (well, she's always up for a laugh!). Will Kim make it back in one piece?
Here’s a sneaky peek at what’s coming up in the week commencing 10th September…
