Episode discussion for week starting 16 July

Nickie | 13:47 UK time, Monday, 16 July 2012

Don't forget that Billy's Olympic Nightmare - our latest special - premieres this week on red button, BBC iPlayer and online. Watch Monday's ep at 8pm, then press red or go online. It's epic! Spread the word!

The mini episode also airs after Tuesday's episode and at 1.25am after Friday night's omnibus. Don't miss it.

Plus, don't forget there's no EastEnders on Friday. Details here

This week on EastEnders... Is Lola having a pregnancy related hormone surge? And what will Abi make of this when she returns? Did Abi burn her bridges when she chose Costa Rica over Jay? Could Lola and Jay have a future? What do you think??

Meanwhile, Kat receives a mysterious key. Things are getting serious. Should she put an end to it and tell all to Alfie? Put an end to it and say nothing to Alfie? Or should she follow the path of temptation? And who do you think her mystery lover is?

Discuss these  - and anything that tickles your fancy about this week's episodes and the special - in the comments section below.

Maybe I'm just in a bad mood & grumpy but Kat's storyline is getting on my nerves. OK, I understand that she was abused, I understand the psychological ramifications that may pop up later in life. But if she wants to be the town tart, then just drop Alfie, drop Tommy & drop being the landlady at the Vic & go stand on a street corner. I know that Alfie isn't the brightest bear in the park but he loves her & you would think that if she's got a kid & a job she wouldn't have time to play away. Just what does she want from life?

Lola is another one I can't stand. Real contributor to society she'll end up becoming. She is a poster child for forced contraception. Her baby will be what, the 5th generation of no hopers in that family? And then you have Billy and Jay constantly crowing about what a great mom she'll make. Yeah a great mom, thanks to the taxpayer.

I hope that when the Olympics and summer slump are over that the storylines will start picking up again.

can't add to the previous comments, i agree with eveything that has been said about the storylines in eenders just now, just let us get to the conclusion regarding the heather/ben murder it has been left in limbo for far too long now, no dialogue about it apart from Ben and Jay which is becoming boring same old dialogue all the time about the bruvvas, all talk no action we were led to believe when the picture frame was found there would be sparks, it was more like a damp squib, the story has lost its impetus there is no intrigue anymore, hope when the story reaches its overdue conclusion it is not a big let down.unfortunately it looks as if it is going to be. I know endings have to have some secrecy about them but this is just ridiculous. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Entirely agree with previous two comments. Kat needs to stop being the tart she doesnt really want to be. Every storyline goes on and on with lines being repeated endlessly. And have I missed something - what has loser Billy Mitchell done for the community to entitle him to carry the olympic torch. I don't get it.

  • Comment number 4.

I thought he had won a competition, can't think of anything else, he would have contributed nothing to the community to be chosen, i think they should have picked a worthy viewer to carry the torch in this episode of the soap, that would have been nice for someone.

It would have been nice if the BBC had thought to run a competiton for viewers to nominate someone to carry the torch in the episode, what do others think ?

  • Comment number 6.

I agree with every think said EENDERSFAN I did not think of that but that would of been a grate idea to let the viewers pick who ran with the torch. And the Kat having an affair is boring as hell.A storyline should make you wanna tune in and not miss an episode and have people talking me and know body I have talked to is bothered at all who shes having an affair with think of some think original please. As for yesterdays episode when Lola and Shirley were trapped in the room pointless and very dull I think it was suppose to bring a touch of comedy just like the other week with Massod and his brother but once again Eastenders you failed miserably .The stupid things Lola was saying like what if we are trapped in here for ever and die and somebody finds me and thinks I was always fat .Just really bad script writing.I keep saying it Eastenders look back at the 80s and 90s of how the show was scripted and produced you might get back on track then

Did anybody else notice on Thursdays episode when lola and billy walked in the cafe the door was completely closed ??? obvious they just stood by the door until there Que. Shame on you Eastenders these things shouldn't happen good luck for the live episode think you might need it if you cant film a simple film in the cafe without making a mistake . seriously tho I do hope it goes well I will be watching
