What the blazes is going on this week? Why, it's only the fire at the Vic! Expect several sizzling storylines to reach boiling point before the smoke clears...

All washed up

Phil's behaviour has been panned by all around him, and now it's Peggy's turn to show him what a drip he's been. But who has she enlisted to get him back on track?

Who's the Daddy?

Ryan's stag do must have been extra low budget - looks like the luvved-up lad was forced to double up as his own strippergram! Ricky seems very happy, but without seeing what exactly's going on behind the bushes, we really wouldn't want to speculate why...

Something Strange In Albert Square...

Claire | 14:07 UK time, Friday, 27 August 2010

We've noticed something a little odd on the George Street webcam. No it's not the Argee Bhajee's clientele. The bus shelter is donning something new. Get searching on the web and see what videos pop up...

Week of Tweets

Summer? Really? What a wash out of an August it's been. But don't let that get you down. Take shelter in the café like Fatboy, "I ain't Beale's biggest fan, but hungry times calls for a 'BEALE-L-T'!".

Meanwhile Olly reached new heights of sleaze as he tweeted, "Is there a point to monogamy? Is it natural for us humans? Or is it something women have invented to control us?" Umm, did you forget your girlfriend Stevie follows you on Twitter?! The poor girl's oblivious to his obnoxiousness as she smiles and carries on alone with "a peppermint tea and a snuggle in bed with a good book".

Maybe Stevie needs a bit of Naz fun in her life. Rather than a nice hot drink and an early night, when Naz gets bored she shakes her stuff to Ciara 'Ride It'. She tweeted "My legs hurt...but I look hawt!". Blimey.

Show sum luv ppl for the #E20S2 crew and follow @manlikefatboy, @stevie4olly, @badgal_naz and @ollymanhall on Twitter. You know it's #followfriday. Start tweeting!

Peggy's Theme

Rob Francis | 09:42 UK time, Tuesday, 24 August 2010

In what will surely be music to everyone's ears, Peggy Mitchell's final EastEnders episode is set to feature an alternative version of Simon May's iconic theme tune.

peggys_theme.jpg

'Peggy's Theme' is a reworking of the show's long-standing alternative tune, known as 'Julia's Theme', which traditionally features at the climax of very major episodes.

Barbara Windsor, who plays Peggy, revealed she would be leaving EastEnders last October, with her last episode set to be screened next month.

Check out our special Goodbye Peggy Mitchell section of the site, featuring classic clips, fun features and the chance to 'Heart Peggy'.

Everyone's giving everyone else comfort, advice... or just a piece of their mind in Walford this week!

Who's the Daddy?

Jack and Ricky go head-to-head when they realise they could be the father of Sam's baby. But she's got a bigger surprise in store...

The Gloves Are Off

Becca comes between Jean and Stacey in a last ditch attempt to secure alpha woman status over the household. It seems Lily's acting more mature than Becca.

Tweet talking...

Rob Francis | 13:40 UK time, Friday, 20 August 2010

tweets.jpg

What a week it's been...

Fatboy's tried his luck with Naz on a bus with the irresistible line, "In there like swimwear". Much to our surprise, hung-over Naz didn't take too kindly to that and tweeted back, "Unless he got an aspirin and a fryup, he ain't what I need right now". Is the romance dead before it's even begun?

Meanwhile trouble was brewing between love birds Stevie and Olly. Although Stevie was momentarily distracted by micro pigs, Neil Buchanan and a screaming ginger lady (Bianca?), she tweeted about Olly from across the same room. A frosty response from Olly; "Don't you think it's so annoying when someone tweets you even though they're right next to you". Urgh, what a moron. And to make matters worse, Olly seems to be interested in the older ladies of Albert Square. Watch out Dot!

Don't forget it's #FollowFriday. Show sum luv for @manlikefatboy, @stevie4olly, @badgal_naz and @ollymanhall.

Lucy turning the tables on Ian!

Joe Harper | 11:35 UK time, Wednesday, 18 August 2010

Wowsers! It's not often that you get to see that smug grin wiped from Ian Beale's chops, so watch firebrand Lucy turn the tables on her dumbfounded father after he confronts her over cheating in her exams. Will she drop the bombshell and reveal all to Jane about Ian's involvement in her abortion?

Should she tell Jane? Check out the exclusive preview!

Parenthood problems dominate this week's episodes, as proud mum's (and mums to be) find that life's not childsplay...

Captive audience

Minty and Sam get serious when he visits the pregnant prisoner. But what exactly is Minty proposing? Does he risk being locked up too, for possession of a dangerously loud shirt?

Max and mini

Abi looks thrilled after getting a makeover, but we suspect Max will give her short shrift over the length of that dress.

Are you following Fatboy?

What goes through the minds of the EastEnders: E20 characters?

tweets.jpg

Thanks to Fatboy's latest tweets, we've learnt a few things - like his love for Jane Beale's "traffic jam booty".

Along with Fatboy, follow new characters Naz, Stevie and her boyfriend Olly. In the run up to and during the new series, starting September, they'll be sharing their thoughts, emotions and lives on Twitter.

Watch out Walford, as we discover Stevie's penchant for Voltaire, "Love is a canvas furnished by Nature and embroidered by imagination."; Naz' s disgust for smelling like lamb kofta, "Ain't never gonna get the stink of lamb kofta out my hair."; and Olly's brainwave to "start a band. Something in between folk and dubstep. Folkstep?".

Find all four characters on Twitter with the hashtag #E20S2 or get their latest tweets here.

It's a world of pain in Walford this week. Join us for a whole lotta hurt, both physical and emotional...

Private matter

Poor Darren's in agony, after an eye-watering kick in the... well, we're sure you can guess. But who's been putting the boot in?

Computer love

Whitney's pining over digital pics of lost love Billie Jackson, but what's Carol so interested in? Perhaps she's in the market for a quad-core processor with USB 3 and Bluetooth connectivity?

Mitchell milestone as Perry passes 1000th episode!

Rob Francis | 11:00 UK time, Monday, 9 August 2010

Big congrats to actor Perry Fenwick, who reached an incredible EastEnders milestone last week, after filming his 1000th episode as hapless Billy Mitchell!

Perry, snapped on set with Jamie Borthwick and Steve McFadden, has been playing Billy for an amazing eleven years now. Judging by the smile on his face, he's still having plenty of fun with the role.

"Seeing as I was originally signed up for four episodes, 996 episodes later, I still haven't been found out!" Perry revealed. "I'm absolutely delighted and can't wait to tell my mum!"

100809_perry_steve.jpg

EastEnders' Executive Producer Bryan Kirkwood was on hand to congratulate sharp-suited Perry during filming.  "In one thousand episodes of EastEnders, Perry has created a true Walford icon," Bryan told us. "Billy is the most loveable loser on British TV and despite a thousand episodes of bad luck, the audience are still willing him to succeed."

100809_perry_bryan.jpg Let's hope we'll be marking Perry's 2000th ep in a few years time!

What's been your favourite Billy moment? Let us know!
