The second piece of the scroll

  • Comment number 1.

New scroll and two new symbols. Did anyone see the content on the red button?

  • Comment number 2.

I didn't Manc, is it still on?? Just see the prequels on there...

  • Comment number 3.

    Vampire again
    Sort of Moon
3D pyramid on a graph - is that different to trinity
    And no idea.

  • Comment number 4.

Well I'm encouraged by the fact even you have no idea Ewan!! Or is that discouraged? Hmm...

  • Comment number 5.

    2 lines above 2 below

could be two halves two parts surrounded by dominoes?

  • Comment number 6.

Damn and bloody blast it, forgot about the red button, didn't I.

  • Comment number 7.

Well I wondered about that Ewan, thought it looked like a ladder! But think dominoes would possibly make more sence. Although, wouldn't they be in a spiral layout?

Sadly, I didn't see the red button either Sasha

  • Comment number 8.

Ok we've got Vampires, moon with (I think) female sign superimposed on it, death to vampires under what looks like a right hand triangle - mm don't know about that and then we have a sign to the left that we haven't been given a clue about yet and I can't even begin to guess what it might mean.

  • Comment number 9.

3d pyramid - wasnt that death?
Vamp axe - badly drawn - looks like a swastika....
    Hairy mole?

How many of this B. scrolls are there?

Just saw Hal and Tom Prequels on red button

  • Comment number 10.

Personally, I think someone should seriously SHOUT at us.... remember to hit the red button when the prog has finished you fools....and then we wouldn't miss the extra content. Rebecca, do you think you could fix that for us please :-)

  • Comment number 11.

    Hello, hello?
A new blog; good, Can't sleep so
a vampire, a werewolf at the centre of a moon, with a stick inside?
dying or dead werewolf but why the moon
a new trinity; an older , or evolved trinity as having three triangles?
again a sign seen in the third scroll this time without the black circle,
is the circle- ying yangey thing the symbol of a baby being born, this time human or at the very least werewolfic but not vampiric
black circle would mean, black heart
then on the third circle we have a black hearted baby, then an organic vampire
vampires as they are disappear because the specie has learnt to reproduce normally and no more by scissiparity as by the bire one on one.
the shape around the baby is carrying it like a mother would? ghost, shape without head?
the final sign with the symmetrical bars and the carrying of the new trinity as it looks to be supported by the inverted L shape is a mystery but it helped me

going back to bed yawning, and OMG wishing not to die in those PJs

  • Comment number 12.

    @sasha - will remember to SHOUT! :-O

  • Comment number 13.

The red button was just Hal and Leo's prequel again for me. Ooo new scroll. *ponders over*

  • Comment number 14.

Lycan... Hairy mole??? At least there's not another nipple!

I think that sounds like a fab plan, Sasha & I'm sure the lovely Rebecca will sort it!

  • Comment number 15.

Dominoes was Leos thing, nowt to do with vampages

Where is Toms accent from, I think he a Yorkshire bitter Lad?

  • Comment number 16.

Yeah, but dominoes could represent Hal, Lycan

  • Comment number 17.

    Hmm.. emm...er...mmm..yeah...ok..

So after extremely close study of both Scroll's I have came to the conclusion that I have no idea at all what any of those symbols mean.

  • Comment number 18.

Haha @Haz, not just me then. I'm was waiting for Ewan's wisdom... Where's he gone? *peers into the distance*

  • Comment number 19.

    17. yep, but Leo taught Hal about resisting the urge to topple Dominoes.
Anywhoo, I'm not gonna get to involved, tis late.

One last thing, aren't the stitching Holes very precise considering they would've been done by hand?

I'm aware that I'm a werewolf and I'm not from the future like that pesky Woman (Not Lady).

G,nite bloggers, Goodnite Big bad pig with the vampire axe

  • Comment number 20.

12 - Thanks Rebecca. Tonight was fab don't you all think. Now just can't wait for next week.

How lovely for Leo and Pearl to have their doors together!

15 - Hi Lycan 0 I think the whole domino thing was more to do with the fact it was routine for Hal - you know get up wash, brush your teeth, count the dominoes and then the day was gone - didn't have time to kill anyone. I might be wrong but just think it was about control - something that was constant.

417 - LOL - know exactly what you mean there.

  • Comment number 21.

Was gonna post this in the last blog, but as there's a new blog I'll post it here instead.

Loved the episode! Think Hal was brilliant! Scary, sexy, sad and arrogant in one, just like a vampire should be! Loved the interaction between him and Tom. And Annie's "Regus moment" was just hilarious!
Still convinced that future woman is Eve, because of what door she went through when she died. I think it was her on the radio telling Leo to go to HH. I'm thinking that her plan for killing baby Eve is what actually makes her the saviour, if it was Hal we heard on the radio in 2037 in the first episode. Obviously her plan to bring them to HH was to get Hal to kill baby Eve, which would suggest that she in the future sees Hal as evil. But what if, by bringing Hal to HH, she saves him from going evil and being the leader of the vampire war? Without Hal the plan of the vampires fail, and future Eve going back becomes the saviour of humanity, although in a different way than she intended or thought?

About the new scroll, well we've got, as people have already said, death and vampires on there, but trying to understand these scrolls is making me go slowly insane. Can someone explain in what order you are meant to read the symbols? Right to left? Top to bottom? Or isn't the order important? Cause when Regus showed the scrolls in the first episode I couldn't figure out how he knew what symbols was to be read after each other.

  • Comment number 22.

@Ginger-Red, yeah I'm relying on Ewan to solve this as well. He must be away studying the Scrolls under a microscope making sure he hasn't missed anything.

  • Comment number 23.

    So here we have:

The same Moon (concentric circles) with a Person(?) inside it as on the other piece.
    The axe is Vampire
The triangle with the lines inside means Death, but the other symbol around it, with the lines on top, I have no idea, and perhaps alters the meaning of the enclosed Death symbol.
And a strange swirly pattern on the left.

    Baffled, I am.

  • Comment number 24.

Night bloggers, Night Rebecca. Bedfordshire for me too - loved tonight's show - hope everone else did too! xxx

  • Comment number 25.

Haz, I think you're probably spot on. I never doubted him for a minute!

Well I'm off, will have a look back sometime soon to see what's been worked out about the scroll by the brainy blogsters.

    Night all!

  • Comment number 26.

Wondering- the triangle with the 4 lines next to it- vampire, werewolf, ghost threatened by 2 in this life n 2 in the afterlife- that's why the line separates them? x

  • Comment number 27.

Yeah I can't wait to see what all this means, and what it means for Eve and the future woman (if they are not the same person).

    Anyway Night everyone!

  • Comment number 28.

Or the 3 unite cz of the 2 that passed from this life into the afterlife tonight? Lol I'll shut up now night x

  • Comment number 29.

Super episode - I love Hal and Cutler. As a transcriber, what we hate most is transcribing focus groups, so I almost cheered at, "They're killing my focus group." A brilliant moment amongst many last night! And Hal's speech in the pawn shop - wow!

BH is still my absolutely favourite programme. As for the red button, unfortunately that isn't a feature I can use with Virgin Media, so I hope all the content will arrive here too.

  • Comment number 30.

    Finally just saw E2.

I did like it. I am still not at all happy about Tom being in Mitchell's room!!! I can't imagine having someone sleep in "The love of my life"'s room so soon after he was killed by my other best friend who BTW also just passed! So yes that will bother me for the entire series.

    I have questions....

Why did I just meet Leo and Pearl yet I believe they are the loves of each others lives yet Annie and Mitchell was not even close to being nearly as convincing?

Why is it Mitchell's fashion sense changed through the decades (not always to great choices mind) but Hal is still wearing clothes from a bygone era? Who chooses to wear trousers without a belt?

Really Annie? You didn't know it was Pearl causing the electrical things to go wild? REALLY ANNIE?!!!! How many times have you done it when upset? Please take away the stupid pills from Annie. I do want to keep loving her quirkiness but stupid is really not at all attractive.

So does swaddling create a sound barrier as well? Or would people just think themselves insane if Eve cries while they're out and about and other people are around?

People hunt wolves? *shrugs* who knew...poor puppies... :(

Whose name is the HH listed in?

Did Herrick make the entire Police Dept vampires? lol

I did like Annie in the shop speaking of how she was not really dealing with her great loss. I hope there is more. I know we need to move on but I think George and Mitchell deserve more.. *grumbles* well even Nina for those who care. It really doesn't have to be an entire episode but if it were more than just a throw away line it would make me happy. Guess if it's not been done...it won't be.

So are we to now know that Annie missed her door so that's why she's still with us, as suggested by someone else? (Sorry I can't recall by whom that point was made I promise it's just because my memory is total rubbish not that I don't care).

Goodness before this turns into the "It" novel..I'll leave it here and maybe get some sleep.

  • Comment number 31.

One last thing..I do like they way DM plays Hal. He pulls you in. I want to know Hal. (shut up twinsie it's perfectly innocent...really it is..lol)

  • Comment number 32.

Am finding it really fascinating how differently people react to the same show. I suppose we all liked different things about the show in the first place, have different tastes, differ in our tolerance of change. Am a little dismayed that people feel the need to say "I'm going to be stoned/flamed for saying this" - no-one has been killed on this blog yet!!! (Unlike the show. Sob.)

And for my 2 cents worth - I liked it. I laughed lots.

  • Comment number 33.

    Hello Yummy!
I also wondered about what people would think about a phantom crying baby.

Hal's clothes - he hasn't been out in the world like M was. Has been tucked away safely in the barber shop for 50-odd years. It does however beg the question where he has got his clothes from. Surely they haven't lasted 57 years?

Like Kath I'm also hoping Hal's comment about Annie's mask suggests repressed grief that we will see expressed at some point.

  • Comment number 34.

You all keep talking about the Trinity of Vampire, Werewolf and Ghost. But which one? There are 3 that we know about:

    1) The future one - Hal, Tom and Annie
    2) The familiar one - Mitchell, George and Annie
    3) The older one - Hal, Leo and Pearl

Seems to me that the prophesy could be about any of them.

  • Comment number 35.

Another look at the symbols in the light of day,

    We have Vampire.
The crossed Moon probably meaning Werewolf.
The altered Trinity 4 corners four types? The lines two above two below each of the trinities has lost two werewolf and Vampire or Ghost and Werewolf the line a new beginning?
Thinking about the other symbol. could it represent 'settlement' or 'island'? after all it could be where they are.

  • Comment number 36.

    @mistress denton

hello, yes the mask. The hidden rage George mentionned at the end of s1e1, and Annie's constant cheerfulness to hide her despair...
why as she accepted Tom in Mitchell's room is a mystery, but alll will be told in its own good time (hopefully)?

next post consacreted to scrolls and calling Ewan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Comment number 37.

    Morning all!
Quick flypast in a break from RL trials and tribulations to say I really enjoyed E2 - need to rewatch and ponder and then review...

Oh and Hal's clothes? I know men who dress like that, real people, or at least they are as far as I know! Also know men who always wear braces - it's quite cute on the right man... (see also Sam West as Zac in Eternal Law!) (i think Ruby might back me up on that one!)

  • Comment number 38.

I did ask the very same questions in a previous blog, nobody bothered to answer- hence it is nice to see I am not alone in rasing these issues.
My theory is all started from those Asian vampires, so I looked at the symbols as ideograms , and my cue would be they are to be read vertically , like Regus did , left to right, if I remember.
    Reading : as above
the yin-yang symbol is the saviour Eve -without the black circle (no black heart-not a vampire-what means that black heart- that should be where it all started really-devil inside?) , she is carries by a ghostly mother- baby looks to be swaddled in loving carrying arms- the baby symbol is below the werewolf symbol- could it be Tom with his 'I hold a stake in each hand' vampire hunter brand? the protector of the moon child?.

  • Comment number 39.

In the distance, we have again a vampire sign
does it mean he is aloof to the fate of the saviour child?

more interesting is the symbol we do not know about... yet
    could it be airwaves?
something is carrying/ holding in? a trinity, a completed trinity? because now we can see clearly it is building up a pyramid?a successful trinity, a solid one ? and it is carrying said trinity to the airwaves???

    OK, shoot me!

  • Comment number 40.

"Either you mean Peter Mandelson, or you're comparing me to a German composer."

I do get the impression one day Cutler is going to go a bit mental on Fergus.

  • Comment number 41.

@ Yummy mummy! Sooo in agreement re Annie- thought we were going to see a bit of fire and brimstone in her this series! Lenora is such a good actress and deserves more to her character role. She was well beyond "quirky" last night! What's happened to her soulful side? Her reflective nature? The Annie we used to know? She hasn't been portrayed as moving on at all. Using Eve to perform an absurd 'carry-on-type- film' sequence in the ceremony verged on slap-stick for me! The Annie I felt I knew would never have done that- not with a baby! I also find it totally out of character that there has been no private grief, no poignant scenes going through momentos or anything to suggest loss- apart from , as you say, some throw-away asides/lines. Annie used to really have some emotional stuff... we love her quirky and naive but ep 2..... well, I don't know what to say. Mitchell seems totally obliterated- so do Nina and George- apart from Eve's existence- Nothing in Mitchell's room of him and I would have thought Annie would have wanted to be in there- for comfort? Old time's sake? A way of keeping something of him close? [I don't like Tom being in there either LOL] I get that the show needed a clean break [logistically, a fresh start], but this Annie madness doesn't do anything but grate. Also the moving on- or coping with the heartbreak by being totally devoid of any apparent grief doesn't work either- well, not for me! What I always loved about BH was the humour within the menace and the darkness. I loved the poignancy, the anguish, the self-doubts and the way they talked about themselves and their relationships..... wouldn't Annie and Tom have talked? At least about George who has only just gone? Loved ep 1..... love where I think it's possibly going..... but ep2 and the way Annie was scripted leaves me disappointed for the brilliant Lenora and for the way the character appears to be unfolding! Sorry for the rant! Just was very disappointed with last night's episode......especially re Annie's role.....

  • Comment number 43.

Hey every one, The last episode was so good, i think Hal maybe my favourite vampire now because he has such awesome side burns.

This is my own little idea but I think Hal might be a renegade old one, So a tweed wearing renegade with some great hair from an ancient race of immortal supernatural beings were have we heard that one before 'Cough' 'Cough' the Doctor 'Cough'

Any way about the Scroll, we've got Vampires again with the axe symbol and another Werewolf in a circle or the full moon (In the first scroll i thought it meant a dead werewolf but it could just be the symbol for Werewolf).

The new triangle could be a direct reference to an older trinity (Hal, Leo and Pearl) the lines next to the triangle do look like dominos, thats the best i got with that.

for the fourth one looks similar to a Yin Yang symbol but i don't think it means duality (Unless 1 idea could be that Eve grows up and falls in love with Hal but he turns evil so they then become arch enemies) the circle is probably a reference to eve some how the lines around it could represent Annie protecting Eve.

so i think that these symbols mean the Axe (Either a new Vampire threat, or a direct reference to Hal), The werewolf (Tom), The circle (Annie protecting Eve), The triangle and lines (The reassembling of a new supernatural trinity from bits of old trinities).

  • Comment number 44.

must love Tom and his reading of the riot act to the pawn-broker regarding the wolf's head
McNair Sr would have been proud!

as for Cutler, who is really Cutler?

Wyndam in Old Saxon is the filed withe the winding path but Cutler come sfrom the Old French Coutelier/ in short maker of knives.

  • Comment number 45.

34 - deathrattle - ooh yes or it could even refer to another supernatural trinity

Future Woman (human) - That Werewolf that stabbed her - that Vampire that takes over New York city. (I wonder why it was in the USA though).

I've had a few listens to that vampire in New York *sigh* and I just can't tell - I don't think it is EW - doesn't sound a bit like Lee Ingleby to me... And can't tell if it is Hal yet. I wondered what Gingernut thought - she must have a really good ear for this... but if she can't tell - then I have to assume that is someone that we don't know yet. But it would make it more interesting if it were Hal - I like that idea.

The symbol that looks like the triangle with one side missing - that looks like a boat in the centre, to me, but what could the 4 lines mean? If it meant 'the sea' they would be wavy, but they are not.

  • Comment number 46.

    Hello blog,

    30. Hi Yummy, good point about sound-proofing babies, that made me laugh (from experience!)
    32. Sage, spot on - it is amazing that so many different reactions come from one show. I had quite a wobble with last week's episode, which was brave and ambitious but sadly just didn't hit the mark for me at all. But there were still things to love. Two of those things were Hal and Cutler.

Hal was definitely worth waiting for this week - some lovely lines, both funny and dark - and a lovely nuanced performance. Welcome to HH Hal :) Line of ep2 had to be Cutler's 'they're eating my focus group'. Vampire politics is looking tricky.

All in all I think ep2 engaged me far more with the characters, and now the setup has been done I'm hopeful that will continue to grow and draw me back in.

PS. who gets the job of setting up the dominoes? Should be in the credits "with special thanks to x the domino wrangler"

  • Comment number 47.

    42. Manc, just saw the pictures, thanks for posting the links, these are a lot of fun.

Gosh, you lot are doing a great job with analysing the scrolls! Good luck :)

  • Comment number 48.

I can't access the red button either. Loved last nights episode, great to see that the humour is still as strong. Tom is brilliant (that's his real accent btw from Derby. I first saw him as a 13 yr old Bugsy Malone !)and I think Hal will be a great character.Am loving the prequels too.
Anyone know what the Russian words said under the full moon poster in ep 1?

  • Comment number 49.

I'll have another listen later Manc. I'm very much looking forward to a rewatch of both episodes (especially Ep 2 - loved it!) but I'm being 'helped' by my one year old grandson today! I thought at the time it was Hal.

  • Comment number 50.

    Hi everyone...
I enjoyed last night's episode although agree that Annie's 'ceremony' was a we bit lame and a bit too reminiscent of her reciting Chery Cole's lyrics when she'd lost her notes! Having said that I think that Lenora has great comic ability and is portraying that in Annie's general wackiness and gestures.
Apart from that I enjoyed the humour from the 'spider' to the barbed comments from Hal and Tom to Cutler's laconic one -liners. Tamla Kari (Pearl) also showed great comic timing and I loved her accent!....she's going to be a great actress to watch for the future.

I was sorry to say goodbye to Pearl and Leo as the 'trinity' of Hal, Pearl and Leo had clearly been a strong one forged on over 50 years of love and support for each other....but the story of Being Human 4 is not about them. Neither is BH4 about Mitchell, George or Nina. Yes, along with most other fans I adored then as characters ( and as actors) in the first three series, but series 4 is about introducing new characters with different storylines leading to a completely different story arc. Whilst it might have made us all feel better to have seen more weeping and wailing over the loss of Mitchell, George and Nina, I don't think that would have been to the benefit of the episodes to date....and it doesn't mean that Annie, in particular, has forgotten them. I've no problems with Tom taking Mitchell's room in the house or Hal having George & Nina's...hey..they have to sleep somewhere!

I think I'm even more intruiged by who Cutler is and what he's up to even more than 'future' lady who now seems to have influence over Hal and no doubt others in the present.

But I also share some of Yummy's questions (post 30)...
i know that Hal has been 'kept away' from people for years....but did he really never go out and buy other clothes?
Was it future lady on Leo's radio suggesting they get their arses to Barry?
And is Hal just an Old One or a different kind of vampire ( hence Fergus' reaction to his name)

oh and yes...Damien Molony is the business....in every way....it's his stillness more than anyhing else which is so riveting.

Not that interested in decipering scrolls etc but will enjoy reading the thoughts of those of you who do enjoy that sort of thing....
    roll on episode 3!

the sonata of the moonlight but it looked to be Greek and not russian

Greek is greek, Russian is cyrillic alphabet

    scroll wise
we have not even discussed yet the other tattoos
as the 4 marks at the top
the butterfly and the V shape like a tick yes mark
the square over the mysterious sign
and the J sign topped by a reversed J

    boat is an interesting comment
but Regus said it was also a trinity , yet he did not elaborate like the first symbol being Africa or a trinity
and it is runes we are discussing not ideograms

    anyhow boat, seawaves? travel? from?

  • Comment number 52.

Forgot to say that those curious about what was on the Red Button last night...it was stuff already up on the blog....Hal and Tom's prequels

  • Comment number 53.

    Good Afternoon-
Well, things are certainly livening up now, aren't they? Love the new character Hal- his speech to the pawn shopowner was beautifully delivered. Still a bit concerned about Annie. She was a bit manic and ott in this episode. As another blogger suggested, bottled up emotion re recent loss?
It was still a bit disjointed and the script clunky in places IMHO, but a big improvement on last week's offering. I would agree with previous posters about the future lady=Leo's 'angel'.

  • Comment number 54.

yes there is something ongoing between the Future lady and Hal
Hal whose name raised Fergus Eyebrows

Possibly he simply killed the pawnbroker, not because he had 'the munchies' but because he did not want anybody: the OOs? Cutler? else? to know Hal is back in the picture, back in whatever waggon it is. Because Hal knew the scrolls and knows how to read them.

  • Comment number 55.

    48. it was greek saying sonata of moonlight or something like that

  • Comment number 56.

    40. Ewan agree about Cutler (mandleson/mendleson), hope he tries Mitchell
    dentistry(as practised on Cara)

    42. Manc - thanks for pic s love G holding vamps Noggin.

  • Comment number 57.

    50. Exactly.

I'm wondering about what Cutler is up to. Is he researching werewolves as a deflection method, by showing them to be the 'real threat' while the vampires slide in via the back door so to speak? Does he have plans, should world vampire domination occur to seek a coalition with the WW's? probably not but he has me curious all the same.

  • Comment number 58.

    Afternoon Bloggers!

Really enjoyed last night's ep. Loved Hal and Cutler for all the reasons people have already said. Can't wait to see more of them.

I'd like to know more about the swaddle. It seems to cover sight and (as pointed out by Yummy) sound but can the human be transported within a swaddle? Cos that'll be awfully handy if so.

  • Comment number 59.

Cutler seems to be a law unto himself. I'm looking forward to finding out who his sire is. I think he's tolerated because of his sire, not because the other vamps care for him.

  • Comment number 60.

Sage, thanks for pointing to me that Hal is not nearly as social as he we are meant to not name (like Voldemort?) LOL..

A-Jo you rightly pointed out that some people dress from that of a by-gone era. Hal may have also stayed in that state of dress as a show of support to Pearl who is stuck in her 50's state of dress.

Josie B. It's hard for us LC/Annie fans innit? We know LC has the talent and Annie has had more depth than that which is currently shown onscreen.

And another thing…I wouldn't leave a baby in a room full of human strangers..How/Why did Annie and Tom given all they've beeh through?

I love the mix of Light and Dark in BH but I like when it occurs naturally… like the shin or pidgeon incidents and others. To me it seems like they're scripting shows to get a laugh. It is only my opinion.

I hope we can keep this discussion up for more than five minutes till new blog..lol

  • Comment number 61.

Afternoon Bloggers! Afternoon Mods! Afternoon Rebecca!

Dorina - thanks for the info re. the red button! Glad I haven't missed anything.

Well have had another re-watch just now and I honestly thought it was great. There were some really funny lines and I think I might be on my own here, but I thought Annie was on the ball - Lenora played it just right - for me anyway.

Re the swaddle and sound. I would assume the same would apply to sight and sound. You don't see Annie so you don't see Eve - you can't hear Annie so you wouldn't hear Eve.

I think Hal is fantastic. And I don't care which room he has. Same goes for Tom. I thought he was absolutely fantastic last night.

  • Comment number 62.

Sent message to Ryan about thanks for photos. Thanks guys x

There is one character in Being Human Series 4 that I am not warming to and that is Cutler. I don't find him 'chilling' as I did with Herrick or EW or, well, anything really - just leaves me a bit cold - and not sure why? (I'll probably be stoned to death now, won't I.....)

Annie dealing with grief and 'Keeping Calm and Carrying On' and wearing that 'mask' - well, I've done that in real life - Lenora Crichlow's interpretation was exceptional for me. Her 'ceremony' scene reminded me of her 'Stop all the Clocks scene' - Annie gets very nervous and goes a bit OTT - so what? I can relate to that - there are so many layers in Lenora Crichlow's performance - pointing out the 'bleugh' moment is just too obvious - scratch the surface and remember just how old Annie is - she is a young girl and I think that is often forgotten when discussing Annie.

Many thanks to everyone about the Red Button info last night. Phew!

I see the usual, the vampire sign and the death of, I think the bottom one is the old ones nearing the end of their voyage. As for the last one, I have no idea. I don't understand why "the future girl" wants to kill eve, when it appears she is part of a human resistance group. Maybe she can be used by both sides, I think she has the power to save (cross over) but the vampires don't want this, so they want her on their side.

Loved las nights episode, I really love Hal he was so sweet when he was crying when Pearl and Leo went though the door.

"I'm not a man of god"

  • Comment number 65.

I liked the Ep better than last week, but still not getting really involved.

I like Hal and Tom (the shop scene was cool, the speech reminded me a lot of Mitchell, he had the same lines many times, when he talked abt remembering all the ppl he had killed. I guess it's the part of every vampire's life, their curse, so it will always come up), and don't mind Cutler (best scene ever the focus group), but the whole parallel story of another trio didn't do anything for me, a part the obvious: bringing Hal to HH.

Not sure abt the baby...the bit I liked the most was when Hal was abt to munch on her :0) kind of wish he had! It would mean No more prophecy and chosen child, magical bits and similar, which frankly are the parts I like the least.

And Annie...well..its 10 Episode that I can't really bring myself to like the way she behaves...I hope it will get better. She's constantly delivering slap stick comedy lines, and I can't see her character progressing in any way, but in fact she's got worse from Season to Season.

She's always pretending not to understand what the other characters or the situations mean, and whether I could see the point for example in the Episode with Sasha last season (she was really emotionally envolved and wanted Saha to be happy), now she's really boring me with her silly jokes and pretended misunderstanding. She was so proactive, especially at the end of S2, and now it looks to me she's been turned into a bit of a clown...

It might be her reaction to things, but I'd say that after 3 season and all that happened I would expect a bit more for her character. And I could not stop raising my eyes at the scene where she encourage Pearl to go with Leo...I mean, talk abt double standards!!

Don't mind abt the new rooms allocation. I know some ppl think that they have tons of room...but in reality we do know that they have built only 3/4 and even if the writers wanted new rooms for the new characters...well the budget probably doesn't allow it! And I find quite funny that now Mitchell's room is occupied by a Werewolf and George and Nina by a vampire. I think Mitchell would be happy for Tom, but considering the letter George wrote to Eve...well I am sure that if he could he would shout at Annie for letting Hal in the house. Kind of ironic though: total annihilation of the character legacy ;0)

I like Cutler too, and I'm looking forward to finding out more about him and who his 'maker' was.
I definitely like Hal, love his stillness, and I can understand why Dorina was so excited about S4!

  • Comment number 67.

Oh and I want some proper baddie, like Herrick used to be. A bit of chilling evil.

Nor Cutler or Fergus (is that the name??) are really there yet. But Rebecca has promised me I will get my baddie...so I await with patience :0)

43- Paul - Yes, about those scolls for those who want to play the game - i.e. - ME.

OK - yes there is a symbol for the vampires, and if the circle within a circle is a werewolf - then yes.

I'm going to say that the triangle (that is not a triangle - wish these symbols were numbered!) which is showing a boat and 4 lines - I agree with Paul - could be about a future trinity - but perhaps the Future Woman/Future Werewolf and Future Vampire. And they have clearly fallen out! lol!

The symbol in the far left hand corner? Not a clue. But I don't think any of the symbols represent dominoes - but do any of the symbols represent Hal? But I agree that the one in the left-hand corner seems to have some sort of 'ying-yang' in the centre - twins. There will be twins.

I'm having 5 cupcakes on those twins!

  • Comment number 69.

Pearl reminded me very much of the pilot version of Annie

  • Comment number 70.

    62. no probs here re. your take on Cutler Manc! Personally I like him, he makes me laugh and his relationship with the other vamps is nicely prickly. He may be bad but it doesn't look as if he's The Baddie for the series. The thing is it could go any way, he isn't a fleshed out character yet and there's not a lot to go on. I can see why you'd feel as you do. My guess is he's aiming to be the arch manipulator - social media, press, politicians - but presumably he can't be the one delivering the message because he can hardly give a tv interview. Hmmm. Maybe he'll be a vampy Banksy.

I can understand Annie wearing her mask, poor girl, but I loved that Hal called her on it. He'd know all about hiding behind a mask. fwiw I think Leonora is especially wonderful when given the opportunity to face something head on - remember her destruction of Owen, and facing down Herrick 'little man'. Fab.

I think the baddie is going the OO when he reaches the UK shores.

in case @mistress denton was to believe we are not doing our homework; well the ones who volunteered
Looking at scroll 3- the missing on , the one we have downloaded on screen caps
the two scrolls are supposedly about the saviour... right. How come everybody forgets what is on the second scroll. While we are at it, the 2+ scrolls when united show another pregnant woman, with twins, who have the black circle...
do a screen cap on the scrolls as they are within the Future Lady and you will see another pregnant woman or WW... or vampire???
with two triangles inside with 2 black circles and yes, we have suggested twins

  • Comment number 72.

The supposed saviour of humanity is outside a very protective fence and on enlarging pics , it seems to be made of runic characters. What IF the supposed saviour was no saviour at all. hence Future woman realizing belatedly that the 'baby' or Eve as we know here far from being a protector is either against the real baby inside the protective circle :@ the reall saviour, or at best an enabler... to allow vampiric victory?
near that second woman the God sign? and at the bottom again this time the baby symbol , not 'swaddled' but lifted ... like one would imagine a savior being lifted to the admirative crowd...
    who is that second baby!!!
    @mistress denton

    erm... a runictionary please?

  • Comment number 73.

71- done the screen cap - yep - can see it now. Yep - agree with twins.

63 - Agree with BBCJoe82 about the boat symbol representing the OOs arriving soon. Makes sense.

I wonder if timeandtide has any better ideas about these symbols. They have been described as 'runes' but although I don't know a lot about runes - I think they have to fall in a certain order - so order is important.

There are 8 scrolls in total.

  • Comment number 74.

@manc 8 scrolls that is a new element

anyhow since the Asian first vampires had 5 dreams
and the last dream is taking 3 scrolls

that leaves 4 dreams for 5 scrolls?
yet scroll one and two seem unrelated... unless they are but edges of a much bigger picture with numerous human skins like a sort of bayeux tapestry?

  • Comment number 75.

Another scroll! And some new symbols - not a clue what they might mean. For what it's worth, from memory runes are read from left to right. Could the symbol in the left-hand corner be a womb (suggestion from my colleague)? Otherwise no useful suggestions!

  • Comment number 76.

    31. Lol Your desire maybe innocent twinnie. mine certainly isn't ;-)

    50. Weeping and wailing? good grief, what ever gave you that idea? ( maybe it's just as well you're not writing the scripts ;-))

Rememeber Hal's scene with Baby Eve, eyes glazed , words catching in his throat as he talks about his recently departed friends? That's what I'm talking about for Annie..will make her seem more like a real person and less like a cardboard cutout

and thank you 41. ( Josie, what a great name) Slapstick / Carry on perfectly describes Annie's performance

  • Comment number 77.

@31 Yummy- 'He pulls you in' - been on the Kia Ora again? lol. Think Kath, Saranth and I have already formed a not so orderly queue, and not an innocent one!
@54 Saint- I thought what was happening to Hal in Eve's bedroom was what happened to Saul- brainwashed/ hypnotised by someone 'through the door', in this case Future Lady. He was woken as if from a daze by Tom.

  • Comment number 78.

I did not perceive it this way, but your explanation is much nicer than mine
I believe Hal knows a lot more about the scroll than we think, and his rage when Leo departs, which he may feel not like being willingly abandoned, but like an amputation- mind you he lost papa wolf and mom holy ghost, he really lost his boundaries, so in his grief/loss/despair he is goaded in going overboard.
Kill the baby, kill the pawnbroker, kill anybody so he can express the grief he is in, so somebody else is as desparate as him.
Hal is a fascinating character, Annie is denying her grief, hence her happy-go-lucky attitude, but when the grief will overwhelm her barriere defences, she will crumble down and it will be worse than hal. denial make sit always worse.
Killing the baby has a meaning for him, but when he feels 'safe' he does not mind dying; hence he does not know about the thirs scroll? I think?

  • Comment number 80.

Hello not commented for a heck of a while but I have been lurking about the blogs. Um I have a different view than most about "future woman" . It's a bit off the wall but here goes. I think it is Eve and she wants to kill herself . In ep1 something on the 3rd scroll upsets her and I think it was something she did that allowed the vamps to take over the world. By ridding the past of herself means that whatever happened doesn't.

  • Comment number 81.

    @Manc @Saint

I was thinking twins too! Then I saw your discussion. Hmm... is this the start of group think? It is a largest danger of a focus group - well besides being eaten by vampires.

  • Comment number 82.

Just finished rewatch of episode 2....even more hilarious the second time around!
67 SaranethBell...I'm thinking that the main baddie is leader of the Old Ones...Mark Gattis...and we know he's on his way.....although I think he's not making his main apperance until later in the series. But boy...is he going to be BAD!

  • Comment number 83.

@saint after looking again i think you're right about what order the symbols should be read.
Looking at the scrolls in the first episode, when future Eve gets the third piece, is it only me or does it look like a piece is missing at the right? Like someone has cut of a small part.
Also the moon symbol that is on this scroll and the previous one posted on the blog, couldn't it simply mean werewolf? Looking at the moon symbol in the first episode it has a line through it, so it looks like what's been added is the symbol which people have suggested means human. So human combined with moon, i.e. werewolf?
Also looking at the scrolls in the first episode I was thinking that maybe what's inside the big circle of runes, i.e. the new piece that future Eve gets could be what happens the "first" time i.e. something to do with the saviour of the vampires, and then what's outside the circle is what happens the "second" time, i.e. the reality when future Eve goes back.
So the first reality the vampires win. And then the second reality, the saviour have been born and then looking at the right part of the scrolls that regus had but never commented on. It looks like the symbol for woman/human, some symbols we haven't seen on any other scrolls and also the L shape with "dominoes" that's on the scroll on this blog. Maybe this is about future Eve (human/woman symbol) going back in time?

  • Comment number 84.

I'm very new to all this, so sorry for barging in.
Anyway, I did some screen shots of the scrolls we've seen so far and you can clearly see the third section when the "future lady" looks at it. It has the symbol of the saviour next to the symbol of huma baby. Only instead of there being a baby symbol in the womb shape, there is a 3D triangle - death.
There is also another symbol that I don't understand but looks like a yin-yang inside a cup.

  • Comment number 85.

Adam is in for one hell of a shock when he visits HH, Annie is the only face he will know.

  • Comment number 86.

    @fiona @mancvamp @sarasalian @emimarie

firstly, thank to the one who was courageous enough to mention that the third scroll has been 'edited' so we are missing something

then yes we have to go back to basics, relisten each item quoted by Regus and come back

we seem to agree than yin-yan could be a baby either human or supernatural

the first two scrolls are about the 'end' of the vampires; with the war child

but if we add the third scroll
it is the opposite the supposed saviour is unable to get inside the 'egg', the 'fence' and thus allows the saviour of the dark hearted ones, vampires, yet we have no vampire sign inside
but vamps are winning in 2037 AND THIS TIME, they are just killing... like humans were now irrelevant to their survival
    paracetamols please...

  • Comment number 87.

77-RM well we all know you my twin and Saraneth aren't as innocent as I am..lol I do understand your feelings toward the New Vampire though..lol

80-Salbish if she wants to come kill herself can she do it more quickly please? I'm already sick of her.

84-Fiona welcome you're not intruding, the blog likes new people I'm sure that's why BH started it. Can't imagine it wants the same people blogging all the time.

  • Comment number 88.

whats this about the red button ?

  • Comment number 89.

About Annie's lack of overt grief.

    Hal to Annie

"Yours is even better than mine."
    "My what?"
    "Your mask."

As she did with Owen she could still be hiding her self from the real impact.
Filling Mitchell and George and Nina's rooms so that she no longer has to look at the empty rooms and remember. It's the same thing when people sell their loved ones posetions the memories associated are so strong and sad they will do anything not to remember.
A Annie to be wary of will come we hope all the Vampires have to do is keep threatening Eve.

  • Comment number 90.

when you watch BBC3 at the end of the episode if you press on the red button, you get to see Hal AND Tom , prequels

  • Comment number 91.

Just looking at the pyramid check the lines on the right side, five lines four shorter then the centre line. The Pyramid is the symbol of death & the middle line encompasses death this might mean ghost. Not sure though if this is accurate as so far we have only seen four supernatural types could we be getting a fifth species in this series.

  • Comment number 92.

@84 Fiona *waves* Welcome to the madness! Barge in as often as you can, make yourself cosy as this deciphering lark could take a while.....

  • Comment number 93.

Hello - this is my first post. I've been a lurker for a while.
Am loving the new series. It is different, but awesome :)

So my two-penneth worth on this scroll is that we know the double-axe is "vampire" and although I previously thought along with some other people on here that the person symbol with the moon and a line through it was "dead werewolf" I am also think now that it just means "werewolf". And we know the triangle with 3 lines in it is "death"...so what is the symbol above with the death triangle and corner lines means dead person, or...."ghost" and the dashed lines above are a bit like a halo - like a ghost with special powers to guard the saviour - i.e Annie.
What I'm really not sure about is the spirally ying-yangy thing.

Hmmm...I still think there are TWO babies, based on the third piece of the scroll future woman has in Ep1. But now that future woman clearly wants Baby Eve dead, I'm flummoxed. I agree with some on here that the vampire voice on the radio in Ep1 was Hal. If she gets Hal to kill baby Eve, then maybe she thinks Annie or Tom would kill Hal, and therefore the vampires wouldn't have their great leader in the war.

I'm grasping at straws here, but maybe future woman is Eve, but she has mis-interpreted the prophecies and thinks she needs to kill herself, but actually she needs to kill the other baby - her "dark twin" - spiritual twin rather than biological twin - who is the saviour/god head of the vampires. Or maybe the dark twin baby, isn't a baby at all, but refers to a vampire who's sire was important - i.e Cutler.

Right I'm off to bed. Night night!

  • Comment number 94.

Have to do a rewat ch, not keen on these scrolls as they are open to misinterpretation. Sorry don't Believe in vampires dreams predicting future niether; If this were so then Mcnair was building a beach house with a special security stone and Tom has a vampire Girlfriend who loves cakes(THIS WAS A WEIRD DREAM OF A CORNISH W/W NOTHIN TO DO WITH BH).

Anywhoo, enjoyed lighter side of BH last night, with Tom and Hal flirting on the patio being a minor chuckle. Assume he stakes a vamp or Two to de-stress on the way home from work; also funny and honourable he wouldnt stake Hal at HH as he promised Annie .

  • Comment number 95.

    some questions and some answers

    - what did Leo write on the notepad, Pearl is not aware of; nor Hal in that circumstance

    - killing and Lucy seeing Amy McBride: you see them first thing in the morning, and last thing at night

    -werewolves like doing lists

-what is Tom planning to do with all that rubber tubbing : an outside swimming pool or a giant oil container for the barbecue of the millenium?

and numerous excellent one liners such as
... going back to their Clark Kents and we skipped lunch...

  • Comment number 96.

Tom tubing? was that in the box of dentistry he had? must rewatch!

  • Comment number 97.

Hi! New to the blog. Can I summarise the symbols (again?!) to check I'm following
Triangle - trinity (or Africa - probably Trinity in this case)
    Pyramid - death
Cross on tombstone - the house the child born into (why?)
    't - shape = human
't - shape inside circles (moon) = werewolf
't - shape with bump = pregnant female
sign inside may be human baby
sign inside on 3rd scroll is death???? (or is it trinity?)
    starburst - Godhead or saviour
concentric circles with line across = moon
    double axe = vampire
5 prong trident, handle kicks to the left... = no idea!!

Does anyone else think that the double axe looks like the chinese symbol for 'middle'? Then the yin-yang (balance - is some balance about to be upset?) fits the same heritage (loosely). There are more symbols on the wall in the future (3 triangles = mountain, thing like a fish skeleton (on 2nd scroll) = rain?) that fit (and many more that don't...).

  • Comment number 98.

    97. Yep, looks like you have the ones I know.

I've been thinking. These other scrolls are for one of the other "Vampire Legends" (so far), yes? Can they ALL have been about our little house? I'd guess they would so we actually have a good chance at figuring these out. But I just struggle with the idea that we're deciphering symbols to tell a story that's already happened and that our supernaturals have been following an entirely preordained path (destiny) from the start?

The final Legend telling the story of Eve, I can buy. I mean, it was probably down to chance. The conditions for a baby Saviour were correct in that house so the scroll became to be about them. But ALL of the Legends?

  • Comment number 99.

the full scroll with known symbols marked

  • Comment number 100.

99 - This should get thoughts going, very, very well done.
