  • Comment number 23.

Hi everyone. My fault! :( this is actually the same time tomorrow... Forgive me :(

  • Comment number 24.

im off too ill watch it tomorrow. bye bye bloggers x

  • Comment number 25.

While I am waiting for the preview, I've been looking into the origin of the word "vampire" and found that the oldest record in Europe of the word is in old Russian from around 11th–13th centuries when pagans worship of "upyri" is reported. Maybe to be and Old One you have to come from this kind of "aristocratic" blood-line?? Or be invited to join like a council of Old Ones?

  • Comment number 26.

So look on YT for the clip tomorrow - got it.

  • Comment number 27.

    25. i was thinking that, what if the Old Ones are like the Masons for vampires. I know i said i was off but i guess im addicted to this blog. Ok night night now, for definite this time :/

  • Comment number 30.

New blog!! And we can see the video :)
Ohhh! I really dont know what to make of him!
He knows a lot about nina- she's small and she's loud. He knows Hal, annie and toms names.

  • Comment number 31.

Well my job is done, night.

  • Comment number 32.

Hi everyone new to the blog! Can't wait for tommorrows episode the series has been great so far but I think this will be the best episode yet. Definately team cutal!

  • Comment number 33.

Oooooohh!! Really can't wait for tomorrows episode and I still can't figure out if Kirby is good or bad, it's driving me mad I need to know, well I guess will know soon enough :)

  • Comment number 34.

So from the video we know Kirbys full name is 'Alfie Kirby'
He's been sent by Nina from the other side. (describes her as small yet loud)
And he knows Hal, Annie and Toms name.

I'm quite suspious of him to be honest, i dont think ill trust him until he shows that he can be trusted.

  • Comment number 35.

    Yay, the new blog!

It's not the most important part of the clip but I have to say I'll miss Hal's 50's look. :o(

I think it's pretty much as we thought. If Annie got a message through the radio and tv static, and future woman, and Lia and the teacher from BcH then surely Nina would have warned our trio that Kirby was coming.

  • Comment number 36.

    32. Welcome Hollydolly!
Glad to hear you're a Team Cutal too!

    35. oletaolyta. I agree with you. Nina would have given them a warning of some sort.

    Right im off. Night.

  • Comment number 37.

    33. I work in optic's and tend to judge people by their glasses, that there is a bad, bad man. lol.

  • Comment number 38.

Hi all :) Gotta agree with you there oletaolyta, I'm missing the tweed already. It's probably good news for Hal though, shows he's settling in alright to his new life I guess.

  • Comment number 39.

I don't think Kirby is a good guy, but I'm not sure. On one of the other blogs someone said that the name of the episode was from "An inspector calls" and put up a link to a wikipedia article. After reading that article I'm thinking that maybe Nina did send Kirby. We already know that he's going to try to play our trio against each other, but what if it is a test that Nina set up, wanting to make sure that they are strong enough together? So next time a real threat comes a long they'll be prepared. Don't really think so, but just a thought.
Another idea as to why Nina would send him is to get Hal out of the house. Nina never trusted Mitchell and I don't think she would be happy with another vampire living with Eve. I don't want to think that Nina would do that, but it's just another thought.

  • Comment number 40.

What is a dhampyr (orthography may vary)

A dhampyr is human, he is born, not made or turned, he can marry , have children though some report him to be sickly, some have children and more importantly they die as humans do
They are generally male and indeed their mother is 100% human, 100% not supernatural
Why do I mention that? Because, yes, you have already guessed it. Daddy is a supernatural. Not a werewolf and not a ghost. In fact legends whether the father or the mother is supernatural is pretty constant in the definition of the supernatural parent.
A werewolf when in human shape has human babies, as in the beast shape his sexual appeal leads his or her amorous endeavours much to be unfulfilled. Mind you, his or lack of sexual prowess thus frustration may explain why the hairy wolf is so angry… hence werewolves children are not supernatural unless they are the result of two hairy WWs
A ghost though physically/looking acceptable to his or her prospective partner had two redhibotory defects. Invisibility comes to mind plus the lack of certain body parts> In fact the total absence of a physical body may explain why ghosts do not have babies.
Which leads us to the type one or two of the Cessna tabulation… the vampire or vamphyr
Vampires have a body, hence the necessary body parts and requisite bodily functions. Contrary to the hairy wolfing beast, unless they willingly blacken their eyes and let overgrow their teeth, their human partner will be confused and mystified. Balkanic legends report wives giving birth to vampire husbands, while South East Asian ones describe human husbands impregnating vampiric brides.

The result is the hybrid dhampyr . It would seem children born of a maternal vampire are really human and said fangy mom is a good mom???? Whereas fanged dads are non descript. It must be said that apparently to have children, the vampire must be married to his partner> if it is religiously, the wedding ceremony must be worth filming/watching more probably. Anyhow once married, some hanky-panky and nine months later an adorable baby dhampyr is born though rather very pale and emanciated . Papa’s anaemia must be genetically transmittable, it seems?
But baby is human, he grows older and will die eventually. He needs huan food, and no thank you blood-wise he is a teetotaller> Yet he is an hybrid… and a supernatural at the same time

Because he can see who is a vampire. He is Abraham Van Helsing, the perfect vampire hunter> Unlike Dracula who could have killed%2

  • Comment number 41.

cant help thinking how weird Tom and Hal would have looked to a random passer by, frisking an invisible man XD

  • Comment number 42.

I agree that Nina would warn the house about Kirby comming to stay and we already know from Annie's trip, comming back isn't easy. I can't see why she's send a total stranger (but maybe time works different in the afterlife) especially when you consider her trust issues.

  • Comment number 43.

37-Haha! I kind of like his glasses, does that make me a bad man or do you actually have to own the glasses?

  • Comment number 44.

    39. You're right I don't think Nina would approve of Hal. I don't think George would either, in the letter to Eve he warns her to stay away from vampires.

  • Comment number 45.

    43. oh it's all in how you wear them.

  • Comment number 46.

Kirby gives me the creeps, with or without his glasses.

    I don't like him!
    I don't trust him!

I wait, impatiently, to be proven wrong...

  • Comment number 47.

lol@shoepigeon 41: I was thinking that too! It would be fun to have a few more invisible interactions and see them reacting to nothing ;)

  • Comment number 48.

    39. Fair play to Nina, as much as i loved Mitchell he wasn't very good at not eating people. I'd say Hal is definitely winning in the self control, stakes. Although i imagine he has a hell of a past to catch up with him yet, no, you're right he wouldn't be their first choice as a babysitter

  • Comment number 49.

I agree that this episode sounds a lot like the inspector calls plot..its not exactly the same but there are some similarities there. The inspector in 'an inspector calls' is thought to have been a ghost by a lot of people. He shows up randomly just like Kirby and starts to stir things up between everybody in the house, eventually people start arguing with each other and the same seems to be happening in the 'next time' trailer. We see Kirby planting doubts about Hal in tom's mind, just like the inspector plants doubts in the family's minds in the book to play them against each other. Also, the inspector know's loads of stuff about the family that he shouldn't know, just like Kirby know's who everyone is. Very strange. The name is also very similar to an inspector calls so i think the plot may be too. Don't have a clue what the toy car reference is about but we will see.

Cant wait to see the episode, looks great. I love Hal's character! will miss his old look but loving the new one :)

  • Comment number 50.

    @snowie and ewan end-

Because he can see who is a vampire. He is Abraham Van Helsing, the perfect vampire hunter> Unlike Dracula who could have killed the Dutch professor, dhampyrs are fearless of vampires and happily stake them again and again. They even make a living out of killing vampires.
RL dhampyrs did and apparently do still hunt vampires. Method; this village is cursed by a/more vampires. Whoyougonnacall? Not the ghost busters but vampire busters: mister dhampyr and his magical stake. The technic is simple, crude, eminently practical and time saving. Bearing in mind vampires are supposedly addicted to daily snoozes in their coffins and said coffins being buried more often than none in cemeteries, said dhampyr visits the village cemetery, stops like a hound in front of a grave, says this is it. Villagers un-dig the coffin, note the villagers, not the dhampyr who is not going to exert himself in menial tasks, and voila. Dhampyr stakes vampire and collects the monies because you pay a dhampyr. For reason unknown vampires cannot kill or turn dhampyrs
The creature sounds like a conman but that is his story.

In TW universe, a dhampyr would possibly be able to recognize as such all sorts of supernaturals, be immune to vampire bite hence able to stake then, surprise, surprise. But also able to be killed the very normal way humans do, which means killed by werewolves >>> and by vampires if they were using firearms
this does not mean dhampyr blood is poisonous, simply they are unturned by the vampire curse.
so supernatural, who can recognize other supernaturals like Sasha, yet human like George when in human form, not at risk of vampire bite either as a feed or a prospective turned human but like George and Nina killable as humans and at risk of time proven methods as bullets, swords etc

  • Comment number 51.

I suppose this is where Annie's rota comes in. If Annie is struggling with the majority of the childcare, with the boys working most of the week, then maybe Kirby saw this as an 'in'?

  • Comment number 52.

    47. aah... memories of S1E4 when George and Mitchell tried to explain to Bernie why they were looking at an empty chair "neck exercises" XD

  • Comment number 53.

I really want to find out more about Hal's past, seems much more interesting than Mitchell's and it was probably a lot worse. I agree that Nina probably wouldn't be too happy about Hal being that close to Eve. Even so, he seems to be better at self control to me than Mitchell, but it looks like he could snap any second...Cant wait to see how the series goes :)

  • Comment number 54.

Just got to ask why has nobody commented on the fact the first thing Hal and Tom do with Kirby - check his arms.

Saint in modern fiction we have.
Blade. And Bloodrayne there are many more accounts not mentioning heredity vampire in Valmont.

There are the 'traditional' variants but at the same time the basic meaning is.

Half Vampire there is no one specific type

Small thing 'immune to vampire bite.' It is not the bite that makes a Vampire in BH universe. it's the blood when near death immune to the bite they would still die of blood loss right.

    well night again.

  • Comment number 55.

54:Ewan well-spotted. I was wondering why they were being so thorough, seems like Annie has told them about Regus' warning.

  • Comment number 56.

Camper than a large camp site! Have a Gut feeling form last weeks preview he's not to be trusted or as some others have said N & G would have let A know via TV / Radio (probably when they're watching Antiques roadshow).

Dont know what make of the letter i previous blog, will we get another letter next week? Hmmm, getting a tad predictable.

  • Comment number 57.

    49. this is all bringing back memories of GCSE English *shudders* but it is an amazing play, we went to see it on stage and just after the inspector leaves, the entire house sort of collapsed showing that the the Birling's world had been torn apart by his visit, i think Kirby could bring abut a similar kind of effect on HH (although i hope the house doesn't collapse, i would hate for the mural to be destroyed :P)

  • Comment number 58.

    57. It brings back bad memories for me too as ive only just really finished studying it (that and of.mice and men) and my teacher was bad at teaching us about it :-/
By the sounds if it everyone seems to be very wary about kirby and nobody trusts him just yet.

  • Comment number 59.

56, yeah probably during the antiques roadshow, haha but it would be good to Nina and George again even if through a TV screen

I think Hal is getting even cuter every episode, even if Nina did actually send Kirby I hope that she didn't sent him to kill Hal.

  • Comment number 60.

57/58. And in "An Inspector Calls" the name of the girl whose life is so important, and whose death is announced as being both in the past and in the future, is Eva. Which is probably a coincidence to our Eve.

Certainly, though, Priestley often wrote plays that explored the notions of time and consequence. His play "Time and the Conways" is a fine example of this; it even includes an act of audience time travel.

  • Comment number 61.

    @54 Ewan
I thought they might be checking his arms, but I wasn't sure, thought they might be looking for hidden weapons.
Just a thought abou the burnt arm, say Kirby, or some other ghost, burnt his arm when he died, then the ghost wouldn't have a burnt arm, would it? As the injuries they get when they die wouldn't be there when they're ghosts. But technically Kirby would still have a burnt arm, i.e. his physical body would have a burnt arm. Don't think Kirby is the nemesis, but if it is another ghost it would still be the same scenario.
But then again the scroll says man not ghost, so I'm guessing the nemesis will be human.

  • Comment number 62.

I think Nina didn't sent him, now the woman from the future, if she is Eve, will now all this stuff, as she has already sent Hal to HH and will now about Tom and Annie, as they possible brought her up

  • Comment number 63.

    Hello!
Ok I had a thought this evening and I don't think anyone else has picked up on this so I'm most likey completely and utterly wrong, but thinking about the new supernatural:
In the "love letter" we have the mention of toys and Kirby being her own personal Santa. Then we have the toy car and who makes toys for santa...... elves!
We have several references to fairy tales, elves and the shoemaker is a fairytale.
And in Ep2 Hal says "We shall retrieve this ring" which at the time made me go LOTR- Hobbit *yay* but yeah LOTR- elves again.
Like I said I'm probably wrong! The other day I had an extremely long theory that the new supe was gonna be a shapeshifter who became a bird; which if there is another clue containing anything bird-like I shall share!

54- I thought of blade too.

Sad to see the tweed go, I liked the vintage look, not as much as the moustache look, but hay!

  • Comment number 64.

Saint, referring back to an older blog, I appreciate your concern for my stress and blood pressure in telling me to "chill out Edward, just chill out" but I was only asking a question that both Manc and Sasha (hello!) have also commented on. Perhaps you should give them the same advice too: I wouldn't like to be thought of as receiving special treatment.

(By the way, how Alexandre Dumas wrote is irrelevant to this blog: unless he appears in an episode or is writing for BH!)

  • Comment number 65.

    @EDWARD

touche, touche , sorry my brand new laptop does not have the accent> you are right ... and wrong> you were complaining of grammatical mistakes and I was quoting famous world famous writers who have been known to write sometimes grammatical errors
hence my advice to relax and take the stride
.that plus the fact it may well be that these mistakes are intended as to show that the woman's curriculum did not include a sejourn in Oxbridge
hence what wrote Dumas, Dickens etc is relevant if you look at their dysgrammar, dysorthographia and yet their ability to weave an amazing universe
as to be able to chill out. well Edward it is up to you... or not, I would take it as a quality, as I said it is up to you to know if you are up to it or not

Heaven forbids you would think you are singled out!!!

  • Comment number 66.

    @ewan
the dhampyr is descrribed is not the one described by comics as in blade
    tss tss
the dhampyr described is the real one if there is such a thing

really, for real it is the historical one
it is generaly a gypsy and as such described by montague summers
and dear old monty wrote in what 1925 1928
    way before your fictional characters

and that is why TW is so refreshing because he does as much as can be stick to the original
not dracula butto the styges, lamiae etc
    in short the original myths

which is why like snowie I want to see what the future has in store because a terminator like story is so lame

  • Comment number 67.

I don't like Kirby he seems creepy and I ask myself "Why should Nina send a stranger - someone Annie and the other don't know?" I can't believe Nina would sent ihm. But from where does Kirby know Nina? He even know that she is small.

    I don't trust him.

  • Comment number 68.

Ok, even I thought my Elves theory was mad, but I have looked Elves up on Wikipedia and quite a few interesting things came up in the various mythologies.

"the elves of Anglo-Saxon and continental tradition are almost exclusively presented as mischievous or malevolent beings responsible for misfortune or illness." Baby Eve was ill in the preview.

"Men could be elevated to the rank of elves after death"

"Skuld was half-elven, she was very skilled in witchcraft (seiðr), and this to the point that she was almost invincible in battle. When her warriors fell, she made them rise again to continue fighting. The only way to defeat her was to capture her before she could summon her armies, which included elvish warriors."
This reminded me very much of Future Woman.

There may be nothing in this Elf theory but I found it interesting.

  • Comment number 69.

URRGH I really hate Kirby and want him as far away from HH as he can get! I'm pretty sure he's never met Annie before, and what a bullsh*t line about Nina! he's so creepy and slimily manipulative - hope it's a great episode though, have a feeling we'll finally see Annie lash out in this one - go go ghostpowers Annie! :D

  • Comment number 70.

ok - maybe i'm crazy but I think this clip proves Kirby is getting his information from somewhere funny. When he says "isn't she great? So tiny yet so loud!" he looks at Hal - Hal never knew her! And he makes Nina sound like a bloody Jack Russell :D

  • Comment number 71.

I am sadly still posting because I'm an insomniac, and up all night with the family sleeping and only facebook and blogs to talk to!

66 Saint: I've been thinking about your detailed comments in this blog.
I'm interested in mythology generally and in particular the psychology of mythology - why these stories have lasted and remain compelling even in our modern world. So I have read a little in that area. It seems to me that there is just too much diversity in vampire or vampire-like myths for there to be a single authentic vampire mythology 'original' for TW to 'stick' to. They are found in various forms throughout history and in every corner of the world. I enjoy the references to the older european myths (Such as Hal's OCD elements as I related in a previous blog), but I tend not to expect too much of that kind of 'authenticity'.

Writers are notorious plunderers of myths and legends, because these were the first stories we told ourselves, and they tap into our most basic fears and desires, which is why they have lasted and are recycled and enjoyed over and over. But I also hold to Margaret Atwood's idea of writing, that it's a thought experiment, in which we change just a few things and let the rest play out as realism. This is what Being Human does so successfully, it is a working out of the thought 'What if a ghost, a vampire and a werewolf lived together?' I wouldn't want to see too much of the Van Helsing style vampishness. Too much horror and not enough humanity. You have to believe there is a significant humanity left in the vamps so that they can become integrated in our society and you have to believe as Hal says in his prequel, that they can be saved.

  • Comment number 72.

lol@oarelle. You're right he does include Hal in that statement about Nina. Hmmm..

  • Comment number 73.

    @oleta

    good evening fellow late sleeper

do not worry, my comment on Van Helsing was tongue in cheek
Parricide and matricide do not rate high on my agenda> Think of it, it would seem that the vampire becomes fertile only with q oman ghis human loved and married and his very offspring is determined to kill him while said child seems condemned to kill his sire
if anything it has echoes of a greek tragedy
which is why I like the story of the dhampyr not about the dhampyr but about the woman or the man who still believes death doth not us part

orpheus fails to save eurydice but odysseus returns to ithaca

kemp was blind to the fact his hate of vampires had turned him to a monster and hennessey whose AL corridor was so dark yet redeemed himself remoonstratig the very samr kemp

one could say the good and the bad thief on the golgotha
    can they be saved

I hope so, but then who is their saviour and what does this saviour save?

  • Comment number 74.

Saint, I see what you mean about the Dhampyr tragedy. It is a very romantic idea. I'm not a big fan of the uber-romantic myself. For example, my daughter makes me watch the twilight films with her and I hope everytime that one of those anaemic vamps will rip that insipid girls throat out. I cheered when one of them launched at her in the second one.

But I do love a good tragedy, and there has been some very tragic moments in BH. Kemp is probably not a tragic figure in the gcse definition, but as you say he does start off an exceptionally good man, and it is revenge and grief that turn him into a monster. And of course there was something of 'the inevitable downfall of the flawed man' in Mitchell's story, amplified because it was his friend who was forced to kill him, to give him both the death he deserved for his evil actions, and the release in death we wanted for him because he repented. It was definitely a cathartic ending to his story.

The good and the bad thief at golgotha is an interesting analogy, you could apply it to Mitchell admitting his crimes and accepting his punishment compared to Kemp refusing to see what he had become being dragged into the AL.

These are definitely late night early morning thoughts!

Hello, exhausted from chasing down the newest blog. BBC America showing the first episode of Season 4 as I type and I can already notices several scenes shortened.

  • Comment number 77.

    evening all.

@ewan - thank you for the link....Kirby, hmmm.

Seems rather.....slick. Too smooth and slick. With all else going on, a ghost shows up claiming to be sent by Nina, and it's all supposed to be roses and warm milk? Don't think so...

If she can send someone to them, why not come herself, see her own child?

Kirby knows about Hal being there....how? As said above, he includes Hal in his statement. Ooops.

    Don't trust him Annie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    'night blog.

Kirby ??? may be a a fairy god mother type or a rumpelstiltskin type ??? Either way he is going to test them try to break their bindings could this be a test ???
Janes letter explained how she was going round the houses explaining her self was she being human of course we all try to explain things away she was explaining what she had done why she had done it trying to make it make sense
Now heres the thing this series has had a lot of innuendos from other other literature now we know its not real right ?? but this series is talking about Prophecies legends dreams myths .Annie said to owen something about its all real . that brings me to the clip in which Hal and his friend in uniform Hal left one girl for him. Hal was changed by a surgeon herrick said it was an honour to become a heir .Now Hal would know all the secrets all the legends ??? may be what if he had medical knowledge would make sense as in father to son pass knowledge on ect ect .May he told things to his friend his friend said to the woman he was not scared of Hal why may be he had a plan a secret he told Annie he pops in now and again to check how his genes are getting on we being human properly thought he meant his descendants what if he meant something else it was not questioned some statements made need other questions asked to be able to decide what was meant may he impregnated these girls may be not .
what if the innuendos are there for a reason we might ignore them after all we are only human and we would go round the houses may be trying to make it make sense ok i may be wrong about Hals friend .but i use thisan as example
what i am trying to say is as human beings we over look the Obvious .
because the most Obvious is the most far fetched and like jane we go around the houses explaining what and why and how .

good afternoon, as above less than nine hours.

I agree we take things at their face values and by definition real prophecies become intelligible only after they are accomplished
    Mitchell was told by Lia
you are going to get killed by a wolf shaped bullet
which means in very easy English you are going to get killed
this is not a prophecy, it is a statement
as for the wolf shape bullet
everybody was looking for a werewolf
in short everybody knew very clearly what it meant

the real prophecies handed by real prophets we have the sybils, the old testament or nostradamus do go a very more complicated way

    example
in a royal house the young ones will feast on a cheap bamquet before being entertained by a hairy beast served on a shroud white as snow and it will be on the day the love goddess is worshipped
    ????
the kids will have a hamburger at burgerking before going to the cinema on friday night to watch the Wolfman
you did not get all the message
because that is what real prophecies are about
    the whole sequence is gobbledygook
and only after some eventd happen that you say
    oohhh , it meant that

a war child can be a peace weaver>>>
A saviour may save in many more ways than one

as for fairy tales, while some may have some relevance to the story as such, I think it is a way for TW to provide MS with funny lines; last year all the fans loved the three little wolves and the big bad pig

this year, Tom LRRH story is a nice reminder of McNair upbringing regarding Tom> Tom is looking for his 'one' girl, and not in the nuddy thank you. If I have a prediction for Tom, his hopes for a virtuous werewolfic maid are going to be met with disappointment. If anything, his gal is going to be a vampire; opposites attract isn,t it?

    A prophecy is not obvious

Afternoon Bloggers! Afternoon Mods! Afternoon Rebecca! Busy day for you, no doubt, Rebecca!

What a load of old tosh! Nina sent him? If she thought Annie needed help with her daughter, Nina would've come herself. Don't know how he knows what he knows but he is bad imo. He speaks to Hal as though Nina had told him about Hal too. She didn't know him. He speaks to Hal as though he knew Nina - they never met. He is an imposter. As for the letter, how do we even know it is genuine? He could've written it himself. And if it is genuine, I don't think he is. He has been in purgatory and seized the opportunity to get back here. Someone has told him about the group at HH - more likely to be future woman I'd have thought. Wonder if the lady whose door he used was Jane. Her letter is addressed to 'Dear Kirby' but he says his name is Alfie Kirby surely she'd have addresssed him as 'Dear Alfie'. I don't think the letter is genuine.

    @teamhal

prophecies, biblical themes ok we have ticked the boxes and the prophecy of the Nativity was so complicated, king Herod decided to kill all the newborns born that night rather than waste time and find Jesus
this is how undecipherable prophecies are
and by the way, it did not stop Jesus from being king- king of Heaven and saviour od his people, all his people, all humanity
a far, far cry from what Herod had in mind

as for fairy tales, possibly we are to meet a real life as in BH little red riding hood, who seems to be Tom 'kindagal'
because Tom being a werewolf would know the ones related to wolves,
but less likely the girlies ones like snow white or cinderella or the sleeping beauty
the first and the last mention spilt blood but there are no wolf in either of them

as for Twilight, I will say out loud what a few bloggers have commented on tweeter DMs or emailing each others, we believe TW to be way smarter than get insipiration from a show about veggan sparkly vampires

TW position is YOU ARE A SHARK , BE A SHARK but be a DECENT one
    that being my opinion
some twists and plot devices of Twilight must not be added to the show because besides being plainly ridiculous and beside copyrights infringements and costly law suits settlements, TW universe is smarter , darker , funnier and a lot less self righteous or happyendingish than this Americam writer> I do not wish to offend Twilight fans but my vampire staple comes from Cardiff, not from a native American WW tribe.

the team Edward teeshirt was a tongue in cheek two finger salute to the Cullen family, Regus wore it as a fitting retort while drinking the blood bags

so much for veganism, my dear Edward

    @sasha

    hello
do you want a freshly chilled mojito?

yes Kirby is bad, and why do we believe his real name is Alfie Kirby? Because he tells us so> Is he the real Kirby? and why does he wear this ridiculous wig? I think it is a wig because any man with that hairdo is no friend of mine!

Annie does not know him; but we know that AL peeps can see what happens in RL through tellies and radios> so Nina would know Hal and RL Nina knew Tom... wait a minute ... what about George, wouldn't George be party to that decision???

Question: how Egyptian - yes the mummy, I want so much a mummy, (some want trolls, mermaids, hence I want a mummy or a druid unless it is a wizard, you will take notice these are the supernaturals quoted already in the show) or Roman or Saxons or Tudorians would know the future from their own rooms as their rooms have no 20th century devices... unless scrolls magically appear with fresh info... ???

Kirby has been sent by someone who knows Hal, hence a vampire and who knows the household including Tom, who knows Nina and George and that Nina was pregnant>>>
Herrick did not know about Tom>>>
But Richard knew the pedigree chums, knew Nina condition, saw Tom in the cage and saw Annie saving her friends>>>
Kirby is sent by someone of the past intent on revenge ... on Eve, not so sure but on wrecking the household yes
    we will kmow tonight

I was just saying that there had been innuendos from other other literature I didt say what literature I also said i think jane was was explaining her reason and explaining making it make sense like we do as human beings always trying to understand .We some times over look the Obvious . Some statements need more questions before we can come to a conclusion or to decide what was meant we presume too much from statements we take the high ground and presume we know what the other person meant and go around the houses with reasons as to they are right

Now that Griffin and Fergus are dead, it would make sense for Kirby to be the more obvious threat in this episode (if we're going down the obvious route).

I watched episode 3 last night. Some questions:

    1. Annie and Tom say that Hal should be fine working in the cafe (because 'Hal has been dry for 50 years'): do they not remember that on his most recent trip outside he almost ripped apart the pawn shop owner? Do they not see this as evidence that there could be significant danger with Hal being outside?

    2. There was no mention of Leo or the fact that Hal may be in mourning for his friends of 50 years. Why not? Could this not have been a moment for Annie and Hal to bond?

    3. Was this the first mention of Mitchell's name all series? If Hal knew Ivan and Daisy, (who also knew, feared and respected Mitchell) it's possible he may have heard his name before even in passing. Couldn't he have made a comment "never heard of him"; "greasy haired chap... got one of those faces... good-looking I suppose, if you like that kind of thing": something that could have shown some kind of continuity?

    4. I can understand that, without Leo and Pearl, Hal needs a home and would look for some support from Annie and Tom. But why does Tom need to befriend Hal? He makes it clear in episode 2 that he hates vampires: why does he need to keep Hal around and alive?

    5. Is Michaela going to return? If not, why was she there? Regus makes a point to Annie that he needs to save Eve as he has spent 400 years working on the scrolls, yet he is then prepared to throw all that away and walk out on it to have a bit of fun with Michaela.

    6. Why does Tom say that he disapproves of Nuts as it denigrates women, only to then have a bet with Hal 30 seconds later about getting the phone number of the first woman who walks through the door? Is that not denigrating women too? Does that show inconsistency of character: is it intended to show that Tom can lay aside his principles quite quickly?

Looking forward to seeing Kirby. As Sasha says at 91, it seems strange to write to him as "Dear Kirby": in our BH world, most of the characters who are called by their surname are usually vampires.

As an addendum, I do think Mitchell's name has been mentioned before, but has it been mentioned around other vampires? I don't have an encyclopaedic knowledge of these things which is why I'm asking the question.

(And I'm perfectly chilled, Saint, in case you were worried!)

Hi there guys! Wow my second post...how exciting!

81 - just read the interview and found it very interesting that we'll meet a new type of supernatural, maybe there is a chance of meeting half vampire/half human child?
Whilst I'm on the subject could someonw refresh my memory of who George "did" in the woods.....was it Daisy?? also what happened to her (head like a sieve).......just wondering if maybe there could be a half vampire/half werewolf offspring somewhere (thus being the new type of supernatural),
I know this probably isn't the case but what a twist....Eves' half bro/sis could be some rival ie-baddie?
Ahh I dunno.....so excited to see how this series concludes!

Just wanted to say, finally got a chance to sit down and watch E3 last night - and thoroughly loved it! Loved the comedy. Loved the burgeoning friendship and trust developing between Tom and Hal. Loved how the threat to Eve revealed to Annie that she did not have the same relationship with these boys that she had had with G and M, and how this was so sweetly resolved in the closing scenes: they are no substitute for her old friends, they are new friends, with new possibilities for her. *Really* appreciated this character development. Michaela was hilarious, and loved how things winded up for her and Regus - they suited each other perfectly! "Have you heard her poetry? It's really good - nearly rhymes and everything." LOL! Glad to see the back of that horrid creep Fergus. Loved how Hal's neuroses are being woven into his character. Makes him a very unique, distinct and fascinating character. Makes him seem oddly pathetic and terribly dangerous at the same time. Loved the Annie-and-Regus scene - especially Annie taking pleasure in Regus' discomfort. Loved Annie in this episode ("House meeting! House meeting!"). Loved Tom and his splendid eyebrows ("I know, but aren't you glad I kept them, now?") and loved Hal (Are you sure you haven't killed me, because this feels a lot like Hell.").
    Fabulous.
Soooo looking forward to this evening's episode, and finding out about Kirby.

Incidentally ... Cassie, Toby? Do you remember The Haunting of Cassie Palmer by any chance?

    ==============pesky spoilers questions=====================

It has been suggested that the regular drip of spoilers is preventing the normal flow of the blog interactivity as bloggers upon reading spoilers stop writing , stop elaborating theories, sort of drying up the blog exchanges

Though I think it will not prevent peeps from googling a spolier, teaser, preview search; though I think that knowing one sentence or a nameless tease do not prevent writing theories on the blog; I am happy to stop giving links to potential spoilers for the next two weeks>

Either it will indeed allow more discussions or it will prove my point. Stiffling information stiffles conversation and not the other way around, if it makes sense

as long as spoilers links are headed by warning signs, bloggers who do not want to know ate spoiled and being spoiled has never prevented peeps to elaborate far fetched theories and tried bigger picture ventures

but I promised and will stick to my word

oooh another thing.....in my dictionary its' definition of Kirby is :
    kir·by
       [kur-bee]

    noun, plural -bies. Angling .
a fishhook having an even bend.

Maybe someone's using Kirby to "go fishing" ? ie - he is the bait needed for someone's revenge ?
