New to BH? Watch out, this post contains spoilers from series one...

Owen... Seth... Tully... Lauren... Bernie... so many characters have entered the Being Human world.  Some have remained.  Some have fallen by the wayside.  Some may even return.

But none of them will be forgotten.

Now, at the end of series one, we must pause for breath and see how far we've come in our very special look back at the series.

Don't forget, If you want to watch the full episodes again you'd better hurry, as they'll stop being available on iPlayer this Sunday at 8:59pm.  But worry not!  We've also got one more exclusive video to bring you right here on the blog, because on Monday Russell Tovey will be answering your questions and leaving us with a very special end of series message.

So be strong.  Be brave.  Yes, this is the end.  But don't fear the men with ropes and sticks.

Think of Lauren.  A happy end.

Oh my...

See you Monday.

I've heard that somewhere before, what Mr Whithouse said at the end...I just can't think where. I remember some actors saying exactly that about something...where was it? Arrrgh

  • Comment number 2.

Got it!! The Chronicles of Narnia films. I remember the actors saying in an interview that Prince Caspiam was much more scary because, instead fo the enemy being from myth and magic, it was human.

I reckon it will be chilling

  • Comment number 3.

  • Comment number 4.

Ooooh, now I am excited - Toby's obviously got an even bigger rollercoaster planned for series 2.

*wracks brains to figure out how a human could be a greater threat than Herrick* couldn't a vampire/or a werewolf just kill a human? I'm intrigued as to what will happen.

I haven't seen the Prince Caspian one, so can't really relate to that.

But the last video on Monday....nooooooo! What will I do with my days?

  • Comment number 5.

I remember the scary new guy from when he was Uncle Ginger in The Queens Nose haha

  • Comment number 6.

A human is a more scary threat because it could actually happen. It's more chilling than a fantasy enemy beacuse it's closer to home. I reckon.

  • Comment number 7.

Yes for us, definitely. And it will certainly test the characters' desire to 'be human' - after the behaviour in episode 4 was enough to turn Mitchell back to the vampires. Maybe they'll be hunted down - didn't Toby say they get separated in the new series.

oh, I'm scared for them! *Picks up George's chair in gay ninja style* (no offence intended)
Who wants some of my chair then.....evil professor?

  • Comment number 8.

    Hee hee.

Oh God, I can't believe the episodes stop being available on Sunday. Stupid iPlayer, grrr. It's a shame it's not more 'On Demand' (subtle, huh? haha)

  • Comment number 9.

I know! Am having withdrawal symptoms already!

It's ok though - my friend's coming to visit tomorrow, so I'm making it my mission to sit through all six episodes tomorrow night and make her as big a fan as me!

    Is that sad or what?!

  • Comment number 10.

I really wanna do that too but can't coz i have 2 important assignments due next week *sob* so am going to miss my chance :-(

  • Comment number 11.

Oh no! Can't you tell them the dog ate your homework or something? My dog would actually do that - well she has eaten through walls before!

  • Comment number 12.

Oh and which characters do you think the comment "Some may even return" is referring to? Looking at the other blog, everyone seems to hoping it's Seth.

  • Comment number 13.

If it was school, college or even uni my firt time round, I may try that excuse but as a mature, distance learner I am supposed to be more organised :-S

I hope it's Gilbert who returns :-) but that's doubtful. Ooh I want to know who it is now

  • Comment number 14.

ha ha, yes maybe that excuse wouldn't wash now. but try telling my dog that!

Anywho, off for some Non BH conversation now - got a dinner date!

Byeeeeeeee - good luck with the assignments!

  • Comment number 15.

Oooh, dinner date, hope it goes well ;-) I bet you end up talking about BH though! haha

Thanks for good luck wishes :-)

  • Comment number 16.

Maybe Nana and the evil canteen lady will resurrect Herrick for Season 3.
I think it will be interesting to see what happens with the main 3. Annie has become more powerful/confident and I think will become more independent. George has a relationship that possibly would be more intense cos it's with another werewolf. Maybe Mitchell will feel a bit left out.

  • Comment number 17.

ooooh, well that disproves my two guesses of Death or a Wizard....

hmmmm, thankfully I'm now officially free from Uni finals, so can spend a week imagining new plots and have a BH marathon on Sunday!!!!

  • Comment number 18.

You lucky thing! I have a grim week of study ahead

  • Comment number 19.

    "Some may even return."

I'm desperately trying not to go off on a tirade about how Seth was staked too high and too far to the right; but dear god, you really are testing me, here!

Don't make us start another campaign. We're very good at that..

  • Comment number 20.

Hahahaha, just watching episode 6 again and the fact that the vamp in the flashback was talking about '10 years younger' just cracked me up. I think I was so wired about what would happen to Mitchell and Annie before that I didn't give much thought to that bit. Brilliant. I love those little touches.

  • Comment number 21.

what an awful, violent programme. Yuk.

  • Comment number 22.

Hospital chaplain could make a comeback maybe?

  • Comment number 23.

    yeah, loved that character!!!

    'say something religious'- 'Christ'

    was really funny!!!

  • Comment number 24.

I can see it being Tully.

  • Comment number 25.

Yeah I thought that too. I hope not though, unless they develop/change his character. I didn't like him

  • Comment number 26.

Awwww the series has come to an end :( but I CAN'T WAIT for the next. I'm so happy its gunna come back for another series... made my day :P.

  • Comment number 27.

Ooh yes I'd like to see Tully back - I love dean Lennox Kelly, have been a fan ever since the first series of Shameless.

Who knows, now george has embraced the wolf (maybe) he'll forgive Tully, and they can unite (with their chairs) and beat off the evil professor.

Oooh, I'm getting over excited now - too much wine!! lol

  • Comment number 28.

  • Comment number 29.

Ooh, I'm very excited about series 2 now (not that I wasn't before).

    Can't wait!

  • Comment number 30.

    Please postage on ze Youtubes

  • Comment number 31.

aww no this really is it, and this has been a rubbish saturday already! the last few weeks i have been counting down the hours to the online episodes, damn we will all have to resume to real life once again, good job the snowstorms are nearly over and summer isn't too far away now! hope you don't wait till next year to bring out the second series, but then again you can't rush a materpiece! just keep us all up to date with whats happening and stuff. x x

  • Comment number 32.

I'm glad the guy at the end probably isn't supernatural. I was thinking it would be good if the bad guy was a human. It makes it creepier somehow. I suppose whatever they would do is probably motivated in the first plcae by fear of the unknown, but the way that a lot of people would react to that is worse than anything even Herrick could come up with. Like in episode 4. I think it's an interesting thing for a show like this to explore!

hmm I'm rambling now and I'm not sure any of that makes sense... It makes sense to me anyway!

  • Comment number 33.

    woop woop!
    I cant wait!

  • Comment number 34.

i_am_nic I agree. That's what I love about this show; I am a fan of the vamp/supernatural genre anyway but BH is a very observant portrayal of human behaviour as well. As I said before, I think it'll be chilling because somehow, if you are shown all these terrible 'monsters' and even THEY are scared of a HUMAN, it makes you realise the scary potential of human power.

  • Comment number 35.

Yeah it could be really good. There are loads of ways they could do it, as it was a 'professor' at this moment I'm thinking the most likely is probably someone wanting to experiment on them or try to use their supernatural 'powers' for something... But then that's all a bit Heroes I guess... We'll just have to wait and see!

  • Comment number 36.

For those of you who will miss these blogs as much as the series there are a few new facebook pages out there by another BBC blogger. Toby Whithouse, Jason Watkins, Gilbert fun appreciation etc.

  • Comment number 37.

Oh and don't worry I'm not fearing the men with sticks and rope; it sounds too much like a bad male DIY job.

  • Comment number 38.

I wonder what happened to Janey ''Tango'' Harris? I suddenly thought of her because Annie Lennox & Aretha Franklin singing Sisters are Doing it For Themselves came up on my playlist. It reminded me of Annie feeling more empowered after scaring Owen, then I realised we never saw what happened to Janey

  • Comment number 39.

Aww Toby Whithouse you cruel man. Give us more, damnit! We want to know more.

  • Comment number 40.

oh why do i have to do pointless things like work lol i hate coming back having missed out on something :-( thats a realy sad video though reminding us its all over :-(

Whos going to come back? I think im with everyone else hoping hoping hoping its SETH PLEASE TOBY?? PLEASE?? or id quite like to see bernie back too but i guess its just going to be owen...everyones going to hate me for this but im not really keen on owen as a chracter (sorry!) hes the only character ive not been really interested in which i know i should be because of what he did to annie etc i dont know hes just my least favourte character so hope he doesnt have too big a part in series 2 :-S

But weve all said it before...trust in toby lol if owen has to be in it i sure good old mr whithouse will make it good (also very nice to see him in one of the videos)

  • Comment number 41.

dont worry, eagle_eyes4, I dont like Owen either. He gives me the creeps.

  • Comment number 42.

Ok so sorry if you already know but in case you dont - I have just heard from a reliable source that they are due to start filming series 2 in august :-)

  • Comment number 43.

If thats true at least they wont be too cold this time around lol

  • Comment number 44.

I though Owen was very well written and that Greg was an excellent actor. I have said somewhere else on here that it absolutely captures the skillful, manipulative tactics used by an abusive partner. I can see how he doesn't appeal as a character but I think it was a perfect portrayal, both in writing and acting.

  • Comment number 45.

And (now I'm not going to be massively popular) I don't really get the Seth obsession people seem to have. He was ok but not amazing. My least favourite character by far was Tully though. Although even his character showed that Mr Whithouse is very observant when it comes to human personalities and cultures.

  • Comment number 46.

Yeah dont get me wrong greg is a good actor and as all of the characters he was well written and yes he does capture the essence of an abuser (i think janeys line in episode 5 sums it up "no he wouldnt im just going mad thats all" the fact shed rather believe shes going mad than that hed ever do anything to harm her) i dont know i just never took to him and now i think about it i really cant put my finger on why

  • Comment number 47.

I dont think its so much a seth obsession as a dylan one if im honest although i do really like the character i think just next to herrick he really worked - herrick was the cool confident charming evil, whereas seth was slightly pathetic and sleazy (and until his death scene in ep 5 and the george incident episode 6 i was convinced he might come up good in the end - but perhaps not lol)
However, as much as id like him back in the show im not sure hed work without herrick? i think it was because of the contrast that it worked?

  • Comment number 48.

its saturday night, and all I can do is limp wearily from one "being human" page to another in the forlorn hope that someone has put something new up for us to read. I've been doing it for about an hour now but it's not working.

  • Comment number 49.

Hmmm, not sure. Yes, he was the sort of sleazy weasley side kick. Btw, please note the new FB groups for Mr Whithouse, Herrick/Jason & Gilbert/Alex

  • Comment number 50.

Lol, I think maybe we all hope that but, alas, I think the lovely Barry said it's be Monday next

  • Comment number 51.

I don't know, some of my favourite Seth scenes were with George :D Generally I think as long as there's a) someone to lord it over and b) someone to creep up to, Seth can work anywhere.

...I've been sitting here for the past hour wondering what to do with myself. I should be having a squee over the preview ep right now. *sighs*

  • Comment number 52.

brookesie, I feel your pain. I feel it so very, very deeply.

  • Comment number 53.

Yeah i dunno i do like seth - again cant put my finger on precisely why just warmed to him lol in a love to hate kinda way?

  • Comment number 54.

Ahh its ok QI is on bbc2 lol it temporarily numbs the pain :-)

  • Comment number 55.

it's rainin and im sad boo woo I want Aidan Back :'(

  • Comment number 56.

ever feel like there was just something missing from your saturday nights??? - I turned all Annie-like and cleaned

  • Comment number 57.

Another thing I still really want to know is where dod Nina get those markson her tummy? Wonder if it's ever explained or if its only purpose to the story was to bring George and Nina closer together when she showed him?

  • Comment number 58.

    God, my typing is pants

  • Comment number 59.

Yeah id like to know that i hope we find out in series 2 - or maybe we are meant to wonder - i suppose the idea was that she had secrets - we're kind of georges side if that makes sense - we see george in his life and in his home and know all of his secrets so i guess whats secret from him has to be from us? Im pretty sure we'll only find out when he does.

Oh and i know the feeling - i actually pulled all the furniture out and cleaned behind it lol im pretty sure no sane person does that - either that or im just mucky usually lol got my parcel from amazon today though - new book and new dvd to keep me occupied for a while :-( and i still have 2 days before episode 6 runs out on my i player :-)

  • Comment number 60.

Please post on Youtube(and don't forgel Russell's Vlog please

  • Comment number 61.

I have been cleaning too. Bathroom done, hoovering, washing, ironing- all done.
All that's left to do is to watch BH all afternoon.

  • Comment number 62.

Epi 1. George- Why was he in hospital for a month with scratches?
That scene reminds me of 28 days later.

  • Comment number 63.

My favourite bit of epi 1. The nurse: "'im with the face... christ knows... that would've looked like a gives a shit'."

  • Comment number 64.

My favourite bit of epi 1. The nurse: "'im with the face... christ knows... that would've looked like a gives a s*'."

    Sorry admin.

  • Comment number 65.

Yes I liked the 'You know? 'im with the face?' line

  • Comment number 66.

"this is the fingerprint of God." Mitchell.
I'm just gonna throw out missed lines as I watch.

  • Comment number 67.

Tully on why he found George: "because....... safety in numbers" add in the space- because I'm lonely.

  • Comment number 68.

I think if Tully showed a bit more vulnerability, like when he said about how he had had a family before, I might like him more. He was a bit too one dimensional to make him a character I'd like to see back again, unless he developed a bit more.

  • Comment number 69.

"Does a chicken have a teeth"- I hate this line, reminds of a constantly repeated line/episode of my life but still I can see it might be cute.

Tully has constant vulnerability, you just have to know what you're are looking for. I've seen this character at least 3 times in my short lifetime. There's another word for them but I can't say it on here incase I'm breaking the rules again. ;)

  • Comment number 70.

epic scene just gone with all 3. too much to comment on; turning point of things with character development, lines etc but snowstorms are definitely called snowglobes where I'm from. *carries on watching*

  • Comment number 71.

    To Toby,
It would make my f day if a series script for season 1 arrived in my letter box one day. Is there any chance of a signed script for season 1? I know this a long shot but hey, she who dares...
    Thank you.

  • Comment number 72.

Theyre called snowgobes here as well lol but Mitchells from irelnd so? oh it was annie who said it wasnt it...oh shush :-)

SupreOhre you have big BH wthdrawal dont you? I thought i was bad...well i do have ep 6 for 2 more days so :-D

  • Comment number 73.

No I don't have a withdrawal, because I'm watching it now. So says the peeps who talk about it at 2-4 am!

  • Comment number 74.

Lol its the only time i get to come on here most days and i dont really sleep much so its something to do :-)

  • Comment number 75.

    fair dos

i wish we could have more info though

  • Comment number 76.

I wish we could see aidan topless again too :P

  • Comment number 77.

I've just seen the AT topless scene.

epi: Mitchell, epi 2: George, epi 3: Annie. Etc. etc...

(I reckon) Main points of series 1 to be updated:
    Mitchell- Bernie.
    Annie- other ghosts (and Owen).
    George- Nina.

  • Comment number 78.

Ok, so I had a random thought...I know Mr Whithouse cleared up the whether or not Nina would give birth to a baby werewolf but I just wondered...what happens if a human woman who is pregnant with a human baby, but has been infected by a werewolf, goes into labour on a night of the full moon?

Or did we decide that a woman infected by a werewolf just couldn't have children at all?

  • Comment number 79.

Erm.. dunno because it's all make believe but I reckon George would practise safe sex.
Can I just say I eat humble pie. Epi 6 was kick ass after all (after 2 watches-maybe the soundtrack lacked i'm not sure).
Watkins and Tovey totally sold the script.

  • Comment number 80.

One thing I'd like to see in series 2 is how will Nina react to Mitchell and Annie. Presumably George told her what they were as well. I can see her getting on OK with Annie but how will she feel about Mitchell esp. when she finds out he killed/vamped Lauren who then killed Becca. Can't see her taking that quite so easily. Classic situation of friction between girlfriend and dodgy best mate with hapless George stuck in the middle.

  • Comment number 81.

I quite like the idea of a human enemy. Particularly as the main characters are trying to be human too (as another mentioned above.)

Rather than 'the Professor' and his people being scientists who wish to experiment on supernaturals, I think it would be interesting if they were actually coming from a human moral standpoint. I.e. they see supernaturals as evil and to be slain.

It would show an interesting ambiguity. Monsters trying to be good vs. humans, being monstrously ruthless in their pursuit in what they believe to be the right thing.

  • Comment number 82.

As for Seth, judging by the stake stuck through his chest, I'm thinking he is a goner.

True, we didn't see him crumple into dust (which doesn't mean he didn't off-screen of course. There are only so many advanced affects like that a low budget show can afford.) That stake was pretty central though. I don't think 'some will come back' includes the dead, dead. (Bearing in mind vampires and ghosts are just singular dead. ;) )

I think we might see Tully again though. It would be interesting to see if there is a werewolf community analogue to the vampires too, or are they all loners? Wolves are supposed to be pack animals after all.

  • Comment number 83.

Russell on comic relief - had BH fix for tonight:-)

  • Comment number 84.

Damn it, I just caught the very end where he said abut giving money. Missed it. Drat.

  • Comment number 85.

He was only on a little bit anyway :-)

  • Comment number 86.

Anyway, where are you on the new FB groups? *hands on hips*

  • Comment number 87.

MarvMarble - agreed! I quite like the idea of humans persecutung monsters in order to be 'doing good' - much prefer it to secret government scientists.

either a group of humans who want to eradicate them totally or who want to 'cure them' - dark materials/one flew over the cuckoos nest style with something that zaps their soul/spirit and just leaves them as human zombies.

Werewolves and humans cant have babies - but what about werewolves and werewolves? Nina is now a werewolf too(very almost probably)afterall.

perhaps its like a recessive werewolf gene and you need one from each parent before it works????

  • Comment number 88.

In which case, I go back to my original question of what happrens if the female werewolf goes into labour when she's due to change?

  • Comment number 89.

Well if you have run out of ways to over analyse the show watch their eyes in the interviews using this link.

Any who, only ep 6 left on the i player

as Josie said in her final words - "you can start to feel the party winding down around you..."

I think I will just watch Toveys questions, fall asleep in Mitchels arms with his topless body as my pillow and then that will be it for me.

So goodbye all you lovely computery people and fans thank you for answering questions, creating interesting discussions and staying up til stupid o clock to discuss the preferred length of Aidans beautiful locks.

I expect to see most of you back when season 2 starts or BH the musical is out - whichever is first.

  • Comment number 90.

oh im so happy my computers working i havent been able to log on for almost 5 days ive been having withdrawral simptoms.

im really gona miss this show and all the blogs it took over my life for a month (thats how long ive had the internet for).

im sure some of you will come back jusy to chat or think of new things there going to put us though next series.

but thank you for such a great show ive loved every minute of it

  • Comment number 91.

"We've also got one more exclusive video to bring you right here on the blog, because on Monday Russell Tovey will be answering your questions and leaving us with a very special end of series message."

Thanks for the update! I had thought there was one more bit of unfinished business.

"dont worry, eagle_eyes4, I dont like Owen either. He gives me the creeps."

I think that's the point, although I'd be thoroughly creeped out by an Owen who managed to be still likable at all. Owen's a dead ringer for my last boss, which is awkward since he's still a friend, yet looks like someone who cheated on, then killed his fiancée. (There are two Es in fiancée.)

  • Comment number 92.

I rushed home from work to see russels interview and its not here?! lol well at least i might be one of the first now...well first to start watching but my computers so slow it takes about 2 hours to view 5 minutes of video lol

Oh suzi said sometig about watching it - its not hidden somewhere ive not found is it? :-(

  • Comment number 93.

And yes as Russell said - all good things come to an end aido lol i thought itd be a lot harder when it ended but im actualy ok ive remember what its like to have a life lol - just keep too busy to be sad :-)

  • Comment number 94.

Apparently russell is in a pay at the minute anybody any dea what/where? apparently aidan went to see him yesterday - nice to know they get on even when theyre not working :-)

  • Comment number 95.

Apologies for the rubbish keyoard again - that was meant to be play oviously

  • Comment number 96.

Oooof. Is Russell's interview coming soon?

    Eagle_eyes - https://www.officiallondontheatre.co.uk/london_shows/show/item102880/A-Miracle/

  • Comment number 97.

Ah brilliant - i couldnt have gone even if id wanted to though - stupid work who ever came up with the idea honestly lol

  • Comment number 98.
