New to BH? Watch out, this post contains spoilers from series one...

This is it.

This is our 'door to the other side'.  Our 'eve of the transformation'.  Our 'black eyes' moment.  This is where the pulse races... the senses tingle... the rush of excitement builds...

This is where questions are answered.  Where deaths are avenged.  Where friendships are tested to the limit.  Everything has been leading to this... every determined action, every crushed hope, every conversation spoken, every obstacle overcome and every battle fought... all of it has been leading to this... The Final Episode.

So savour it.  Drink it in.  Enjoy every last drop...

Oh god oh god oh god. I have been sitting here for the past 20 minutes feverishly refreshing the page. I almost don't want to watch...

  • Comment number 2.

    Ah I can NOT wait!
But last episode of the series :(

  • Comment number 3.

Oh god... I nearly don't want to watch, becuase when I do, it'll all be over. This it is, this sixty mintues, what I've been waiting for all week, and I'm terrified the anticipation will be better than the event...

Well, I have to watch it anyway. Of course *g*

  • Comment number 4.

Oh choices choices. To watch now. or wait until tomorrow .. hmmm!
I don't want it to end!

  • Comment number 5.

    Okay. Here we go.
I'll watch it tonight. . . and again tomorrow because i know whatever i do i won't be able to get enough of it.
I cannot believe the series is ending already. At least we have some comfort that it will be coming back for a new series. :)

  • Comment number 6.

aaaah! i can't watch it, its lent...a time for deprivation so im going to get into the spirit and not watch it. What a test for will power...

  • Comment number 7.

Arrghh.. Dilemma! To watch or not to watch? That is the question. I think I'll flip a coin.

  • Comment number 8.

I know what you meanivegot th train all theway to my mums to use the fast internet so i can see it and no i dont want to lol well i so am going to i cant wait but i am gonna be so so depressed in anhur when its all over! :-( ok thn here we go...

  • Comment number 9.

    ahh..nervous.. I cant watch..I wanna know tho..excited ooh..here goes.

  • Comment number 10.

    I keep putting it off.
I'm watching a film atm to keep myself busy.
I probably will watch it tonight because i keep getting drawn to my laptop. . . Damn you people for creating such an addictive show!

  • Comment number 11.

This is not playing well on my widescreen at all, very, very boxy. Not sure whether to carry on watching it tbh. Might start it again, sometimes helps.

  • Comment number 12.

oh my god!! do not wanna say too much cos i dont wanna spoil it but i cried (again!!) and ive been shouting at my screen (again!!)

    watch it people watch it!

    and bring on season 2!

  • Comment number 13.

NOOOOOO, can't believe it's finished. I'm so glad there is a second series planned, it can't end like this.

Brilliant brilliant brilliant. Looking forward to the next series already!

  • Comment number 14.

Amazing. This can definitely survive another series, thank goodness :-)

    But, arrrrrrhh, the wait, noooooooooooo

  • Comment number 15.

    Now to watch it again....

  • Comment number 16.

Me too, I am completely addicted!

  • Comment number 17.

Also, there are some super speedy people out there. I was refreshing the page for ages til it came online (sad I know) and started playing as soon as it did. My player hesitated only for a couple of mins and still people had pipped me to the posts haha. Gosh, we're dedicated

  • Comment number 18.

Also, coz I think I only said this yonks ago, just want to say thanks to the website team, coz this site has been fab so far

  • Comment number 19.

Just one thing, how come 'Mercy' was playing in the cafe 2 years ago???????

  • Comment number 20.

I loved this episode, next series will be the best series of any program ever. Loved the acting.

  • Comment number 21.

Once again, don't really know what to say. Very emotional!
I think the worst (i.e. best) part was Nina; sensing almost immediately what had happened, but not having anyone confirm it to you for SO LONG. That's the worst (i.e. best) kind of teasing there is, and I think I hate (i.e. love) you all for it. I feel so incredibly bad for George right now, especially when I spent a good ten minutes yelling at him for being such a selfish plonker :(

I would like to say roll on series 2, but I'm sort of a bit scared of it, now.. Can we just leave them in their semi-happy bubble for a few months? Yes? Good.

  • Comment number 22.

Ha ha, don't worry sperkii, I was doing the exact same thing

  • Comment number 23.

    tvfreak89 - Poetic license. Shhh.

  • Comment number 24.

  • Comment number 25.

did anyone else notice the continuity problem between the '2 years earlier' flashback in the cafe and the fact they were playing Mercy by Duffy? The song was only released in Feb. 2008.

  • Comment number 26.

    Who's this professor then?
There are more questions than answers...pictures in my mind that will not show.

Fantastic series...congratulations to the cast and production staff. Well done indeed!!!!
    BZ's all round!

  • Comment number 27.

    We found them???
So... when does season 2 start?

  • Comment number 28.

I mean just fabulous and there was so much story and so much action and OMG its over.
Not gonna go into detail but wow, again.
Question though- with that evil ending you did already know you had the second season, right?
Cos otherwise that is just plain wrong

    Loved it.
Thank you for making this show.

  • Comment number 29.

Why is is every single week I tell myself to watch it on Sunday, and then go ahead and watch it on here? You shouldn't put it on 24 hours early, there's people out there with no willpower.

But ohh my god. That was the most amazing bit of telly I think I've ever seen. THE best episode so far, apart from the fact that it's the last one. :(

  • Comment number 30.

Amazing. Totally bleedin' (pun intended) amazing. One season fnale that didn't disappoint in any way.

  • Comment number 31.

    Brilliant. Lovely ending.
And Nina's lviing up to her name (Angel fans will understand)
Beautiful music, beautiful cinamatography, beautiful tv.
    This is high art.

  • Comment number 32.

OMG!!! That was, absolutely brilliant!! Amazing....I'm lost for words.
Thank you so much for the best tv in a long time. Please don't take too long for series 2

  • Comment number 33.

Was anybody else screaming at their screen......' go on....shred 'im George'!!!!!!

  • Comment number 34.

This comment was removed because the moderators found it broke the house rules. Explain.

  • Comment number 35.

oh my god what an episode i umed and ared for a whole 20 minutes but just couldnt wait any longer. and OH MY GOD!!!!! so good i was in tears almost all the way though. I dont wait to spoil it for those that havent watch yet but trust me it was worth the wait so many questions anwsered so many more raised and oh i cant say but poor poor wont say no maore on that point.

Bring on series 2 please not let it be to much of a wait but please dont change any thing.

Im so going to have to watch this again just in case id missed something.

Turely brillant every one has just done an amazeing jod truely i just love it.

  • Comment number 36.

Being Human is easily the best thing I've seen on TV this year, even though I haven't actually seen an episode on BBC Three since the pilot. God bless the iPlayer.

Anyway, I loved it. Absolutely loved it. The sarcastic priest made me laugh hard enough that I missed what happened next and had to rewind the stream.

  • Comment number 37.

Yup i stood up and everything at that bit lol "go on george!!" and the nina thing :-( oh god we knew didnt we?? as soon as he got her we knew but couldnt be certain and just oh god thats it now thats him done for he wont be able to live with himself will he :-( i take it thats why he didnt attack her? he knew she was one of them? why did annie have to go why did she take mitchell and nina down there!? again we knew as soon as george said ket me go and tell him what he was gonna do but i knew something would get in the way nothing ever runs smooth does it lol anyone else a little sad that herricks gone though? he might have been a total b*stard and yeah i wanted him dead but hey he was a brilliant character!

oh and who was that fella at the end? im guessing hes the big baddie in series 2 but havent we seen him somewhere before? was he snuck in a previous episode???? maybe just me but his face rang a bell lol

  • Comment number 38.

Someone just reminded me of something and I had to come and squeal about it to the BH team - the Nina/Julia parallel? FANTASTIC. And really appreciated, it felt like a little nod to the fans :)

Heeee. I really do love this show, and everyone involved.

  • Comment number 39.

oh my god i must write real slow there was only 8 posts when i start my last one

  • Comment number 40.

julia? am i missing something?? please tell lol i feel left out

  • Comment number 41.

My theory on the mitchell blood thing, is that like humans his body can produce blood but only after ingesting "live" blood, ie from an alive person, so replacing his blood in the hospital would possibly give him blood in his veins but would not make him better like it would a human.
I cant remember which programme or film I heard it in but it had vampires in it, "It's all about the blood, blood is life"

  • Comment number 42.

theres no way i can sleep 2night to much stuff to think about so many questions so much time before hey can be answered why!!!!

your right eagle_eyes4 ive saw him somewhere before to.

It was the sound when he pushed them away thats how you new nina was doomed (not really right word but cant think of another one right now)

Is anyone else wondering how nina got that burn on her stomach im just noisie i guess but she never really went in to detail about it.

once again just a truely amazing series and a brillant last episode and please let them be happy for just a little bit.

Do you think she'll tell him or wil she just leave because mitchell will no wont he im shuting up now *maybe* thats all ive got to say at the mo

  • Comment number 43.

    ++++Chance of spoilers++++
    Herrick-fantastic, best part for me.
As am (ex) teen Anne Rice junkie I find myself slightly disappointed by the vamps lack lustre skill set but the show wouldn't work with such a complicated set up.
    George- Amazing acting.
Beautiful scene with Mitch and....(name leaves me) on the hospital bed, beautiful.

The second half did what it was supposed to do and I'm grateful for that as it set it up for next season.

Epi 5 was the best. The whole series was perfectly paced I thought.

Shame about the jagged pixels with widescreen HD. Another reason to buy the DVD I guess.

    ++++Chance of spoilers++++

  • Comment number 44.

Yes explane the juila comment im confused!!!!?

  • Comment number 45.

sSrry for typos, I'm still sitting in the dark. Never been able to blind type, never will.

  • Comment number 46.

Ha! did it again. I'll put the lights back on.

  • Comment number 47.

eagle_eyes - now is a really, really, really good time to run to YouTube and watch the pilot :) I'm hoping it might get included in the DVD, but I suppose we'll have to wait and see.

  • Comment number 48.

Julia! Georges fiance?! Yeah i saw the episode but just couldnt place the name yeah very good lol and hopefully it will be on dvd yeah :-D

As for nina i think she'll have to tell him - she could transform without him knowing he'll be gone anyway but she cant hide her arm from him forever can she :-( poor george i know i should be feeling for nina but its george im worried about hell never be free of the guilt will he and you know what hes like lol itll tear him up completely :-( thats the reason he tried to leave her

  • Comment number 49.

just watched it twice.....OH MY GOD HOW FAB WAS THAT? I mean what else is there to do on a saturday night but sit sobbing along with a vampire, a werewolf and a ghost. Cannot wait for the next series but in the meantime am thinking of renaming my dog George just so I can say to him every day "George, get............" (you all know the rest)

  • Comment number 50.

oh thanks brownstudies was julia geoges girlfriend for the pilot i get it now when nina was watching though the big think door wow that was quite fast for me.

i only watched the pilot the other day *i for got about the men with sticks i no mad but i have had a baby inbetween ive for got quite a lot*

  • Comment number 51.

I'm not going to think about George. I'm not going to think about George until the new series, because if I do it will BREAK ME and I will CRY and I might NEVER STOP. Russell did this to me with John Chivery in Little Dorrit.
    I know his ways. *glares*

  • Comment number 52.

  • Comment number 53.

Ok, look people, I think some of you are under the false impression that you are more intelligent than the experienced TV crews who make this show. Continuity error? Really? You think?

    No. Frankly. Just no.

It will have been a conscious decision and, as someone said, there is a degree of poetic license. These people know what they are doing.

    For heaven's sake.

Anyway, as a pointless aside (sorry)- BH team you are, however, guilty of making me do the unthinkable and use 'text speak' (or should I say txt spk). I now find myself using such abbreviations as OMG instead of oh my God and coz instead of because. This is because my brain is so full of thoughts about the show, that I have to let it all out as quickly as possible and cut corners with my typing in order to do so. My mother would kill me.

  • Comment number 54.

Oh, also, I have to disagree with people who think that it would be a terribe ending if there weren't a season 2; personally I think it would be a rather interesting end and I quite like it when things aren't all 'wrapped up neatly'. Having said that, I'm bloody glad there's a season 2.

  • Comment number 55.

the heart and blood thing again - he has no heartbeat obviously hes dead so i guess he couldnt have blood could he? well i guess he could itd just be...still no oxygen in it god thinking back to biology here lol which i guess would explain why it would be differnet to human blood for lauren etc but if all of a sudden he has proper oxygenated blood in his body wouldnt this mean technically hed be alive? obviously not hes a vampire we saw it in his eyes but oh god i cant get my head around this!!! mitchell also says that it isnt helping - the new blood etc so... rargh i cant do this its driving me mad lol

  • Comment number 56.

i no poor george i really will tare him up i think hes got some more issues now but he was glad that she *nina* didnt just run away screaming like julia (all most)

But ive got three fish so now they have new names i just wont tell me kids.

i cant type in the light so dont feel to bad superochre

  • Comment number 57.

I couldn't have hoped for a better closing episode. The strigoi followers will have to look elsewhere to relieve their stoker/rice branded porphyria/sexual repression..

In literature and folklore pit a parasite against our guardians of Gaia and there's only going to be one outcome. So grateful the writers bothered to read up and gave our dog his day.

Also heartened to see George get a real partner. Can't wait for the next series. Really, thanks so much for this.

  • Comment number 58.

Woah sprekii cool it was that continuity error thing a jibe at me for my post about ep 5? if so watch it and youll see them too i wasnt moaning its a great show i was just saying anyway toby has been big enough to admit he made some mistakes as far as continutiy between the pilot and the series went so i doubt hes be offended he said he was glad to have such attentive fans lol we all love the show nobody is having a go although i do agree it could have done as an ending with no series 2 but so so glad there is one cos it would have driven me mad i think lol

  • Comment number 59.

Ooh AND yay for more Nina in season 2 :-) and poss Owen(?)

No Herrick though...although I wonder if his new woman will take over, as she mentioned having the history running through her etc etc, because it was Herrick who recruited her. Hmmm.

  • Comment number 60.

No, it wasn't a personal dig at anyone. It was prompted by the 'Mercy' thing but was a general comment. No offence meant. Sorry.

  • Comment number 61.

How come if he hasnt got a heart beat why were the machines beeping when the father was standing by his bed?

  • Comment number 62.

We all get a bit emphatic on here and I just had a 'moment', sorry.

  • Comment number 63.

    This comment is awaiting moderation...Explain.

Sorry people....still wired from the last episode and if I don't do this I'll peel the wallpaper off the walls...

  • Comment number 64.

oh i hope new women doesnt take over her voice doesnt sit well with me sorry but its ture dont no why sorry

  • Comment number 65.

Oh ok then lol yeah i did wonder about the mercy thing but didnt like to say it does sound as though its (racking brain for gcse media studies term lol) diagetic? ithink thats it yeah it sounds diagetic ie. its actually been played in the cafe but it could be non diagetic ie just a backing track that we are hearing but the characters arent. hmm it might be like you say poetic license or a simple mistake that im sure we can forgive them for!

  • Comment number 66.

lol i agree that womans voice really grates on me!! she doesnt have an evil gang leader ambience at all but to be honest i dont think she would take over shes too young herrick has recruited loads of people who have been around now a lot longer than her i doubt it would be down to her i think its going to be this professor fella although for some reason im inclined to believe he has more to do with george than mitchell?? probably totally wrong but just a feeling i get?

  • Comment number 67.

Who says he's supernatural at all? He could be human

  • Comment number 68.

If the writers are reading this (please forgive me for saying this if you find it completely offensive but I just can't help myself,) please don't go all Buffy or late X-files on our ass on season 2, please *flutters eyelashes*. I found myself falling into that train of thought during the latter part of this epi.
But it shows great skill to fit so much humour, warmth, darkness, depth and shallowness into such a teeny space.

Favourite parts of the series for me:

I can totally relate to a house share with cups everywhere (why??!), mess, fun, eclectic people, addicts and run ins with the neighbours.

The little references I recognise to TV, film, music etc.

The pure talent on the show.

Thanks for keeping me away from the crappy paperclip guy and my work for the last few weeks. It has been worth it. *mwah* x

  • Comment number 69.

And, yes, I agree that Herrick's latest probably won't be around for long and almost certainly won't take over. Then again, so far it's only been Lauren who has been seen as saying how wonderful it all is to be so powerful etc, so just wondered if this canteen woman was gonna feature a bit more.

  • Comment number 70.

who the professorg guy? yeah he could well be human but for some reason something is niggling my brain saying ehs got something to do with george not the vampires? not saying hes a werewolf just something i dont know im maybe way off its just a feeling it might wear off soon lol

  • Comment number 71.

sperkii - Docs and Profs... I'm wondering if they might be some sort of supernatural research branch?

ahahahaha, months and months of speculation abound. YAY.

  • Comment number 72.

I'm wondering if the 'we found them' guy is something similar to the recent series on the Beeb about Jeykel and Hyde. Y'now the organisation that was stalking the Hyde character for their own ends!?
    Just a thought!

  • Comment number 73.

WOW that was great! im so glad Mitchell was alright- but he had to be, it wouldnt be the same without him, and it sounds selfish but im glad Annie didn't go through the 'death door' lol. & good on George! ripped him to shreds- wouldnt like to clean that up, unless he just goes to smoke...
I dont get the man at the end saying we've found them though. And is Owen at a prison or mental place?

As for the Mercy by Duffy that apparently shouldnt be in the past, i didnt even notice, but i never actually notice any of the music, but its fine anyway- leave BH production people alone!
Thanx for a great series x

  • Comment number 74.

I certainly hope she isnt around for long she is very very irritating lol although i do trust the team and if she has a pivotal role then so be it we'll just have to get used to her i guess :-S after all a lot of people certainly changed opinion of lauren about 50 times before she went!

  • Comment number 75.

Hey, everyone. Just want to clear this up (and iplayer is timing out and I'm very impatient at the moment!!) George gave Nina the scratches, yes?

When I first saw the scratches on her arm I thought she was a "cutter"--which would have been quite sad--and I was nervous she was going to do something to herself. But it was really that the reality of the situation was setting in after George had given her some answers.

Will have to (of course) watch this episode again tomorrow on real television. Absolutely.

  • Comment number 76.

Yes, I thought that too. Am kind of with superOchre about hoping it doesn't go Buffy 'The Initiative' or X Files 'The truth is out there' on us though.

[gives herself a talking to - trust in Toby et al, Sperkii, just trust]

  • Comment number 77.

Im pretty sure owen is in "a mental place" as you put it lol apologies to the mentally disabled there... :-S yeah good thought on the research people i quite like that :-D it cant really be the vampires can it because they know where they are - Lauren obviously did im guessing she told herrick? so he knew and even if he didnt tell anyone else their address theyve got the canteen woman in now and as they both work at the hospital im pretty sure she could get hold of their details so thats that one out of the window!

    Any more theories.....

  • Comment number 78.

This comment was removed because the moderators found it broke the house rules. Explain.

  • Comment number 79.

Lol yeah we're going to have to trust them :-) i was getting a bit worried with the canteen girls speech but then good old annie brought it straight back to the real world for us lol think that was one of my favourite lines that and herricks in the hospital about mitchell "were not here to hurt mitchell..i mean yeah well get him but theres time" not really a funny line but the way he said it cracked me up!

This really was a brilliant episode however i think my favourite of the series has to be episode 5? but 3 was the funniest... Oh i cant decide :-D

  • Comment number 80.

I guess he recruited her because hes now lost mitchell so needs someone unassuming inside the hospital? that was my thinking anyway

  • Comment number 81.

On the nit picking about continuity, dunno if its been mentioned but there was one in ep5 if my maths serves me well. Annie said Mitchell was killing 80 years before Owen was born. Owen is mid-twenties or 22 at the youngest. So that would mean Mitchell had been killing 102 years therefore since 1906/7. He was recruited in the first world war which didn't start to 1914.

  • Comment number 82.

Am I the only one that liked the cafeteria girl? Seriously, nobody thought it was completely hilarious that twisted, psychotic, cold and shark-like Herrick decided to recruit himself a bit of Something For The Weekend?

I can't see her leading the vamps. There's a spot for a wheedling Seth-type sidekick, but (as some of you have demonstrated) most people don't have enough tolerance for the Brizzle accent to stand her in a main part.

  • Comment number 83.

Argh!! my iplayer is being stupid! I really want to watch!!! loos like i'll be up until 2am again watching lol!

  • Comment number 84.

Continuity? I'm not too bothered about most parts of that because I'll put it down to poetic license or that I'm really quite sad if I notice it but every time there's a smoking scene and the cig jumps from full to nearly finished within 2 seconds, it bothers me. But that's because I'm a smoker. See Gilbert scenes to see my irritation and countless films I can mention... and btw Gavin and Stacey are the worst for that.
    Jesus.. I'm sad.

  • Comment number 85.

Good of Herrick to clear up the question on why mitchell isn't affected by the star of david .. almost as if he has been reading the forum posts :-)

  • Comment number 86.

amazing, a brilliant finish to a brilliant series.
I will be devastated if this doesn't win any awards, this series has had me screaming at the telly, crying, laughing everything. I'm so glad to know there'll be another series. Just when you thin everything will work out and you've found out all you need to know about the characters the writers hit you with another bomshell.
    And I'm sure series 2 won't dissapoint ;)

thanks for such a brilliant series that's kept me on the edge of my seat for the past six sundays :D

  • Comment number 87.

Yeah i did wonder about that he seemed to have a bit of a thing for her lol yeah there has been a bit of maths issues about mitchells age but i think we can put this down to annies maths than tobys hes supposed to be 118 but i doubt she was worried about exact dates she just wanted to scare him i think :-) mitchell also tells fleur he died a hundred years ago which would mean hed have been 18 which obviously he isnt but again i doubt he was worried about exact dates

  • Comment number 88.

WHHHHAAAT!!!!!!! you can't leave it like that, gosh wow what an episode! so sad its ended, oohh what a twist at the end! ohh whats gonig to happen now, all these twists and turns, roll on the next series!!!!

  • Comment number 89.

    OH... MY... GOD....

Was watching through my fingers lol

I can't wait till the next series, i'll die! i'll go insane! i'm one of those people who finds out the endings of films before i've seen them because i just can't stop myself lol This is going to be a really really tough wait for me! I've never been so in love with a tv programme! lol

Poor George, he won't be able to live with himself will he! it's a really interesting storyline but i really wanted him to have the fairytale happy ending with Nina, what will happen to her now? and Annie what will she do know that she's turned her back on death? And the mother of all questions who is that old bloke at the end huh?!?!

Yep, i'm going to turn crazy long before the new series airs lol

  • Comment number 90.

George's right back at ya line to herrick "it. got. my. attention" brilliant!

  • Comment number 91.

Yeah he was supposed to be a young man when he died (16-19). He looks a year or two younger than me. I'd put him at 25-27.

If you had put an 18 year old in that role I'm betting no one would have watched.

  • Comment number 92.

So can we assume there'll be more doing it doggy style action with george and nina every full moon? I am so sorry everyone, I tried sniggering in private but the schoolboy in me won out in the end and it just had to be said lol lol lol

  • Comment number 93.

That was also awesome, but possibly not as good as episode 5?
I liked 5 better anyway lol. More one liners and generalised eeek.
I think canteen woman was annoying cos she sounds like vicky pollard cross handbook for goths, which is not a happy mix. And she drags her words aaargh - my flatmate did that and I wanted (metaphorically)to kill her. (I also had one who looks like owen...he was a bit psychotic too)
For brizzle_fin, maybe she said 80 years because that sounds a bit more impressive than well let's see he's 25 and he's been twenty five for gosh what year were you bitten in?He's been killing for 96/97/98/99/100 years, so quite a while. At least 80. (just my take on annie's though process there)
But yay a hook for series 2, thankgoodness it's been commissioned, else my brain would definietly dissolve and ferment trying to explain enigmatic psychiatrist. THis way it may only dissolve.

  • Comment number 94.

I dont think he was ever meant to be a teenager i know a lot of ww1 soldiers were but he said he went into the army when he left school so he was a "proper soldier" if you like not just a recruit if you do the maths this was filmed 2008 so for him to be 118 hed have been born 1890 so 1914 hed be 24 which is about right cos i think aidans 25 - i have no doubt in my mind that they worked it out properly didnt just pluck the numbers out the air lol

ah wow I seem to have posted enough for it to go straight through without being moderated. Woop de doo. Fingers crossed anyway.

He was an officer wasn't he? Says 'my men'. (Don't ahve a clue from the uniforms). Wouldn;t that make him a lot older than school leaver? - I think it was 14 compulsory then - but I do mean older than that, sort of having left university age.
