New to BH? Watch out, this post contains spoilers from series one...

Excuse me a moment... *picks jaw up off floor*

I knew Owen was a nasty piece of work but blimey...  And Lauren, did you really think she would do that...?  What about George and the chair... Annie and the door... Herrick and the plan... Mitchell and the... well, the everything.  Quick, someone pass me a strong cup of coffee and a slap round the face, I'm losing it here.

But what did you think?  Let it all out here and have your say on episode five.  And be honest now, what were you screaming at the TV...?  You're lying if you tell me you weren't.

This is fantastic sitting on the edge of our seats does annie go?
    Does mitchell die?
Finally george is not a wimp anymore this is the BBC at its best well done and we want more when this finishes
    impaled opheila

  • Comment number 2.

Just epic, that is all I can say at this time.

  • Comment number 3.

That was the best thing we've seen on TV for a very, very long time - now I truly know what 'dark humour' means. I am really hoping that there is going to be a series 2 (are you listening BBC???)these three are amazing characters! I may have to go and re-watch via sky + now.....

  • Comment number 4.

WOW - Being Human has been the best thing on tv but tonights episode was AMAZING. Can't believe I have to wait another whole week to see what happens. Mitchell must survive but how?? What happens with Annie?? But the thing I am most looking forward to from the next week clip is Wolf George going ape on the vampires!!!

  • Comment number 5.

amazing!!!! how yummy is aidan turner!!!!

  • Comment number 6.

Yeah I was screaming at the TV. I thought I was having a seizure; that episode climax was SO unexpected.

    PLEASE don't let Mitchell die.
You can get rid of all those nasty, nasty vampires but let the Good Guys stay for a 2nd series!!!!

  • Comment number 7.

Of course I was screaming at the TV, I was screeming at my computer last night and at the TV tonight!!
What a roller coaster and of course the preview for next week is very well made, not giving anything away... like it woukd have... I think I would have been disapointed if it had...
I love what was done with Lauren, did not see that coming and the special effect used for her were brilliant, very nicely done indeed.
Love Annie's door (not a shoddy one like Gilbert's...) is she going to shopping heaven? We did try to read the sign on the door and there was defenitively a High Street written on it... well.. we think so...
Owen... where to start with Owen, very well done, all of it, what a nasty piece of work he is... and his descent to madness after Annie's little secret was great... I just hope he won't be Herrick's nexy recuite, I could see him doing it just to spite Mitchell...
George was great too, as usual.
And Mitchell... I could not beleive how clueless he was regarding Herrick's plan, what was he thinking?? He knew Herrick was a killer... couldn't he work out that part of the human race would be kept as cattle??
Anyway... I guess I better stop here...

  • Comment number 8.

NOOOOO!!!!!! oh my god what happened 1st annie and then mitchell they just cant kill mitchell.
What a great episode i need to see the next one right away they cant leave it like that. a hole week wondering if mitchell dies and if annie went though the door just brill im spechless

  • Comment number 9.

Simply the best series in tv at the moment!

Not a dull moment, lots of surprises and characters you really care about!

  • Comment number 10.

I think i've pretty much expressed my feelings on the previous blog.
But yeah, overall a really excellent episode. One moment i was laughing out loud and the next i was close to tears.
All of the episode was brilliant but it became really exceptional towards the end.
Honest, it really was amazing! I don't know where to start. So much of it had me laughing out loud, practically the whole of Annie and George's rescue attempt had me laughing. And i loved the bit with George and the mobile phone charger and the whisk.
The final scene though, how can you leave us on such a cliffhanger! So many questions are raised for next episode. What did Annie tell Owen? Will Annie go through the door? Will Mitchell die? It was such an amazing scene. I t was so powerful when they were all standing there confronting Owen with Annie's monologue. Then when the door came for Annie I was really close to tears. I don't want her to go but i know she should really. Then just when i was on the verge of tears i was laughing again at George and his little bit of wee. But then soon as i finished laughing it was "OMG, what's happened to Mitchell?." Seriously that whole episode was an emotional roller-coaster.
Btw am i the only one who detects a bit of chemistry between Annie and Mitchell. Only there was the kiss in an earlier episode which was admittedly laughed off. But then in this one when Annie asks if they will be alright once she goes George, the more upset one, says yes and Mitchell says no. And they have this really big embrace and then put their faces really close together. Am i reading into it a bit too much or does anyone else detect that?
Also a question for the writer/producer/director/basically anyone who can answer it: Annie and Gilbert both have different doors to walk through and i was wondering how they chose what door should represent death for each character and whether the fact the doors are different represents for each of them means or represents anything? And why does Annie's have a letterbox?
That's all for now i think. Just to say really great episode, great acting and great overall series. Bring on series two! I will be signing a petition if there isn't.

  • Comment number 11.

wow i still cant get my breath back Herrick WHY. Owen what a *%!# just evil
Lauren good on you girl didnt no what to make of her at first but that was great the effects wow and the look on her face she just looked so peacefull. Whats this seceret

  • Comment number 12.

oh yeah forgot another question raised: why isn't Mitchell affected by George's star of David? Is he only part vampire or something, which means might he survive a stake through the heart?

  • Comment number 13.

I love this programme i was larfing and crying at this episode no way can u kill off mitchell or annie go into the light pleaseee dont it wouldnt be the same otherwise...and as for george oh bless him i love him to bits his one liners in this episode were fab had me and my son larffing out loud... but one thing thats buggin me can anyone tell me what annie said to owen its drivin us nuts....

  • Comment number 14.

This just gets better and better! I was actually on the edge of my seat-literally- for most of this. What marvellous writing, directing, lighting, camera work, acting.... I could go on. I really like the fact that the charecters are not just good/bad. Lauren even Herrick, last week I was thinking maybe was an ok guy.And the humour, haven't seen this type in a drama since Buffy. Oh! I better sit down now and catch my breath

  • Comment number 15.

  • Comment number 16.

okay so just watched the end bit again, it's just so good, and Mitchell doesn't say "no" he says "I'll look after him" but still is there a bit of chemistry there or are they just very good friends?
Also watching it again made me think, Annie says that the door is cold. Does that maybe mean it's not ready for her to go through or is that just because it is death?

  • Comment number 17.

Tartanpaint - B.Edwards - When you die people refer to it as going upstairs, or be laid to rest, or it's like a very long sleep - hence bedwards. Cheesey play on words.

Agreed I reckon the costume designers deliberately made Mitchells clothes reflect his transition from his allegance to humanity to his allegance with vampires.

Also been getting my housemate into the show. Been watching Ep 2 noticed the nice little costume reference to Frankinstein.
Tully gives George spare clothes, Baggy green T shirt and short black trousers.
I love the attention to detail in this show and how much every element has been thought about.

Hmmmm Im guessing as there is no escape out the front door they all go through Annies door?

Either that or she deliberates for so long that the door dissappears. But I haven't seen the what happens next bit so I could be wrong.

Tully says that a time will come when George will have to go against his conscience ie kill, so I reckon there'll be a bit of wolf action next ep.

  • Comment number 18.

From the look of the preview it seems like George turns into a werewolf and kills some vampires! Gonna watch the episode again on iPlayer now!

  • Comment number 19.

This episode left me breathless! And yeah, of course I was shouting at the telly!

I got furious, I laughed, I cried, hell I even panicked!

This show is just superb, but I've mixed feelings about next week - can't wait to see what happens, yet dreading the end of the series.

  • Comment number 20.

"It's not with horns on his head or with a forked tail that the devil comes to us. He comes with a captivating smile, spouting idealistic sentiments, winning one's loyalty" a quote that perfectly describes Herrick!

Mitchell smokes cigarrettes so why couldn't Herrick take drugs. It's actually a common characteristic of dictators. Hitler alledgedly took methamphetamine & dished it out to his troups.

Amphetamines are "power drugs" that reduce fatigue, heighten aggression, and diminish human warmth and empathy.

They probably wouldn't do much physical damage to a vamp, but maybe psychological damage? Just think of the skewed perception of reality Herrick must have if he's been taking them for a few hundred years.

  • Comment number 21.

Well done BBC for a fantastic series. Reckon we'll be seeing a real mad dog next episode! Great balance - funny moments, emotional and gripping. Hope Annie hasn't gone and that Mitchell survives 'cos we need another series to follow. A definite thumbs up to the script writers of the series - thank you.

  • Comment number 22.

    thanks Suzi!!!

    makes perfect sense!!!

silly university finals interfering with my being human viewing!!!

  • Comment number 23.

Good grief I think if anyone ever says to me again that TV numbs the brain, I'll direct them to these forums! The amount of imagination, analysing and theorising that's going on here is insane!

  • Comment number 24.

I've watched this episode 3 times now and I was still as teary eyed at the end the third time as I was the first!!!

For a start George is so sweet in the beginning, I hope his relationship with Nina works out! Also it was nice to see a little more George/Annie bonding!

Owen's reaction to Annie was shocking really, I loved the end when he went crawling the the police and the police officers expression!!

As I mentioned before The phone charger and whisk.. I laughed so hard! I'd love to know what was going through Georges mind!

I also loved the whole bit with Lauren saving them and her death, it was really moving.

The Vampires - So evil!! I hope that George (and Annie and Mitchell presuming they survive..)can stop them!!

I hope Annie didn't go, I hope George found a way of saving Mitchell!
I can't wait to find out what happens!!!
What am I going to do after next week when the series finishes?!?!

Brilliant writing and acting from everyone!!

  • Comment number 25.

What can I say? A little nugget of brilliance in an otherwise mundane world of drama. B H is outstanding and we look forward to the season finale with two provisos ; 1. that the creators maintain the standards so far, and 2. that there is a season two. And 3??

  • Comment number 26.

Even if Mitchell survives - that denim shirts a gonner! Quick some one steak the rest of his wardrobe, he'l have to do next episode topless!

  • Comment number 27.

OMG! Twas amazing! I'm so excited! It's the best thing on tv since Playdays!!! Awesome! Gah! My stomachs eating itself its so pleased!

  • Comment number 28.

well, wot can i say??? Incredible! I reckon Annie's secret is this; I think she told Owen that she's taken Mitch around his house & invited him in. That would freak him rite out! Cant wait till next week to c George wolf out, but really sad cos it'll b the last 1 of series. Hurry back! I think the star of David/ crucifix thing only works if the vamps believe it works (newborns would b more prone 2 believing in vampire folklaw).I dont think Annie will go on till she knows that Mitch is ok, but mite b too late by then. Cant do 2nd series wivout her!

  • Comment number 29.

Brilliant Brilliant Brilliant!!!! Every episode a real gem of entertainment. 3 great characters with great back-up performances. George - super actor - heard he was up for dr who at one stage well he should have got it his timing is impeccable and he is so funny. Mitchell dark and mysterious but what a gifted actor and our delightful ghost played to perfection. The writer is a genius - all other Britsh attemps at the horror genre have been so lame but this stands up with the best. I hate having to wait a week to see the next episode the intrigue is killing me -haha!!! mitchell just has to survive and she wont go through that door just yet - who'll make the tea???

joy joy joy on a sunday night. I love it so much I watch it on Fridays too - bravo bbc3!

  • Comment number 30.

as i said on other bit- ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!

    but 2 points
1)- i really hope it is not revealed what annie says to owen as isn't the whole point that it is only known by that dead? and also the fact it is scary is because we don't know what it is. i think knowing would take away that element which i think is really important.
2)- why DOESN'T mitchell react the same way to george's star of david- i have watched it 3 times and that is really bothering/intriguing me!! I NEED TO KNOW!!:) -its driving me mad!!

and loveeeeeeee mitchell- sooooo hope he's not dead

oh and a 3rd point- series 2??? please tell us and put us out of our misery- and also tell us when it will be if there is one- so i can start counting down the days!!!

  • Comment number 31.

Hah I was reading old comments that said the pilot characters had better chemistry - really? I can't imagine the old Mitchell getting it on with the old Annie. Nor was I convinced by the old Lauren.

This time I loved the sexual chemistry between Lauren and Mitchell.
Also there is definately a more purer relationshippy loving chemistry between this Mitchell and Annie.

Unfortunately they have no chance. Vampire with Ghost? true love and happy endings on TV? the odds are stacked against them. I fear they will overcome many obstacles, eventually get it on, only to be thwarted by some kind of ultimate sacrifice made by one or the other in the name of love - probably at the end of the 2nd series if there is one.

Script writers take note I know tragedy makes good telly, but go against the grain Mitchell & Annie together and leave them happy - please!!!!
Oh, don't fiddle with George and Nina either, please let them survive whatever comes next.

If you have to kill off anyone else, erm you can have the Vin Diesel obsessive and I suppose maybe Janey Harris - ah no Ive even grown to love her too.

    Damn your eyes BH!

  • Comment number 32.

lol! so true- i love them all -except owen grrr!
and i did not really enjoy the pilot- i watched it on u tube and i thought it was lacking a lot of what makes this series so gr8- the humour and wit. sorry but guy flanagn did not do it for me!!
and NO CHEMISTRY!! oh my word this lot and stacks of chemistry- way more than the pilot did!! they are more believable as well- i know a vampire, ghost etc but i so believe- maybe i am just showing my naivevity!! lol

  • Comment number 33.

    Lauren,Mitchell,Oh Noes, just OH NOES!!!!!

The rescue of Mitchell.Gay Ninjas.XD LOL(better than that joke at the end of the new trailer for the new Paul McGann film, type in Paul McGann and vampire,ahem.2nd vid on list, Watch through till the end)

Annie's door is so elegant, and so suits her as a character

Come on George, it would seem it's all down to you(and Annie and Mitchell, hopefully)

My idea of the star of David is that in his old life,Seth was Jewish and thus it affected him. Just as Mitchell is probably Christian and is affected by a Christian cross. It's different religious symbols representing the faith the vampire held in their past life that affect them and harm them

George/Annie, so cute. Some lovely scenes there at the door(yes I ship them, I'm a minority, more ship Mithell/Annie and Mitchell/George than George/Annie)

I cannot wait till next week*stands and applauds*

Hope it gets a second series

  • Comment number 34.

Mitchell DOES survive!.... I think. When the stake had gone through him and he was bleeding from his mouth he wasn't able to speak. And I found this on Tobey's Blog.

"The analogy we use for blood in Being Human is drugs. We're saying the hunger is for blood is psychological. Mitchell will discuss it further in ep 6, but essentially the craving is something he could in theory overcome."

How would he be able to discuss it further if he was dead?

I am so glad i came on to this blog it has solved a mystery for me which has been puzzling me for weeks. I remmeber seeing an episode on TV and could not fathom out why this great show was not on TV ever again - then suddenly it reappears but things are different and now I have closure - please provide the door for me now - lol!!!! It was a pilot episode which I have now watched on youtube thanks to fellow bloggers - many thanks. Well whoever made the changes - you have done a great job!!! Old Mitchell had something about him and wasn't bad but new one is totally brill and the series had a much better start less intricate but revealing immediately so we could get into the story asap. Would have been interesting to see how Adrian Lester would have turned out but new chap has a certain sleaziness about him and you just wanna ram a stake right through his heart -less slick than Adrian but has a better hateability factor.

New Annie has better emotion and range old one was a bit silly but maybe that was the script.

Well, now I can relax and stop thinking about all these anomolies going on in my mind and if anyone else was in the same boat I hope you read this.

One thing for sure - magnificent series just love it storyline, acting, music, set - it has the lot and Annie, Mitchell and George are a gr8 mix - just hope that stake missed mitchell's heart and that door is impoosible to open - more more more encore bbc3!!!!

  • Comment number 37.

Okay so I loved this episode.
I loved, adored, worshipped the pilot but so far only liked the tv series.
    Not anymore.
If the rest of the series (last ep) and the second series onwards (cos of course we're gonna get them) continue to be this excellant then I'll even stop bitching about the changes. Mostly anyway.
The greatest thing about this ep other than everything and everyone in it, was bringing back some of the essential elements of the pilot that had so far been lacking or underused.
Amongst them the freaky thing about the men in the robes with nooses, which while not directly mentioned are eluded to in a fantastically roundabout and ominous fashion. Also I love the automatic closing of ranks around George. That was something in the pilot that really struck me- Annie and Mitchell's instinctive protectiveness of George. Not that he's weak- sure he can fight off a room full of vamps, but in the other stuff.
They both want to shield George from having his illusions shattered. From potentially losing his faith if he were to learn what they both know of the other side. I love that dynamic. The automatic shift to stand between him and what's out there.
There were other great things brought out such as the gatherings of vamps and their more sinister edges that so far had pretty much been defunct that it was great to see in use again.
All in all it was simply brilliant and for the record you are an evil evil person to leave it there!
Although it was so obvious you were gonna do it to us I still found myself shouting at the screen when it just ended.

  • Comment number 38.

Well, I must say, as an American visiting your country (spending time in another part of the world thing before I get to old, blah blah) this is by far the best thing I have seen on TV here. In a way, I was almost expecting something as terrible as Demons to be made - God was I wrong about that. I feel like I owe an apology to the entire production staff of Being Human for thinking that for even a second, lol. Nothing I have seen, in a purebred English television sense, comes close to the superb writing, character dialogue and genuine originality (with "classic monsters"). I absolutely love it and I would be in shock if a season two didn't come out - it just better do so before I have to go home!

PS: Albeit it too late to complain, whine, tantrum (because it's already been made, obviously) I hope you don't do anything cliche like kill Mitchell off!

  • Comment number 39.

OMG!!!! I have a sore throat this morning from screaming at the TV last night. Which is not a thing I do often, I might add! Between the "Go ON George!!!" When he whacked that vamp with a chair to the "Noooooooooooo!!!!" When Mitchell got staked I'm glad I have no neighbours!

Brilliant, just brilliant! Fabulous writers, fabulous actors, the best thing on telly bar nothing! Huge thanks and congratualtions to everyone involved.

  • Comment number 40.

AAAAH! - That's what I was shouting at the television at the end of ep. 5. I can't believe there's only one more episode to go and that's the end of the series. Hope we don't have to wait too long for the next one.

But oh, so many questions! Did Annie go through? Is Mitchell going to die? What happens next?!

I loved that Lauren finally gave up being a bitch and helped them get away from the vampires.

Mitchell is so lovely!! Near perfection... I have such a schoolgirl crush on Aidan Turner lol.

Brilliant show BBC3, I look forward to the next series. And if you decide there isn't going to BE another series, well...heads will roll...:P

  • Comment number 41.

I was expecting this this episode to to br dark but CHRIST!! I wasn't expecting anything like that.
After seeing that episode I was left shell-shocked for an hour trying to make sense of what happened. The brilliant drama in this episode shows just how amazing the writing team on this programe are and I'm sure that episode 6 will be fantastic

  • Comment number 42.

See the Mitchell and Annie hugging pic on the previous page - you can't tell me they aren't going to become an item

  • Comment number 43.

I'm with you Oh_Suzi, i swear i detect some sexual chemistry between those two. I thought it was just me but I'm glad to see there is someone else as well.

btw that picture makes it look like there are antennae coming out of Annie's head, lol

  • Comment number 44.

i really really hope that the fact Mitchell bleeds when hes stabbed means he can be saved, because when Lauren died she sort of *poofed* so fingers crossed he will live on!

  • Comment number 45.

WOW WOW WOW. I am completely gob smacked!!!
what an amazing episode, all the characters played their parts so well.

i can't believe i have to wait until next Sunday for the last episode :(

Hurry BBC, we want it back soon!!

  • Comment number 46.

I watched last nights episode and thought it was brilliant....it went from some great comedy with George when the knock came on the door (I laughed out loud) to the sudden down turn where annie walked through the door and mitchell was injured all in the space of a few seconds. Truely a roller coaster ride of viewing....cant wait for the next episode....well done BBC3

  • Comment number 47.

One thing that I found really intriguing was when Mitchell told Herrick about Annie, saying he had a friend who was a ghost and then Herrick was like, well all I can promise you is that when the time comes it won't be someone like Seth that does it. What can vampires do to ghosts?! Can you transform a ghost into a vampire or something? Or kill them outright? Its confusing me! lol

  • Comment number 48.

What a cliffhanger! I am surprised they didn't keep that one for the last episode.

I am puzzled why the ladies who find out vampires exist take it so well! Owen went mental.

I'm with him on this one. If I found out that vampires really existed I would be totally freaked and would not want to go out, especially at night!

  • Comment number 49.

hey HumiliatedGrape =) just thought I'd clear up your confusion, Herrick is talking about 'killing' Mitchell when he says "all I can promise you is that when the time comes it won't be someone like Seth that does it." Hope that helped

  • Comment number 50.

Incredible episode - am still buzzing on adrenaline!

Just on the religious symbol thing, maybe Mitvchell is more affected by crucifixes - see his reaction when Fleur makes the sign of the crucifix in ep4 - he looks terrified!!

And I thought Lauren was fantastic in this episode, and gave Mitchell the opportunity to redeem himself really for making her a vampire in the first place. Very well done!

  • Comment number 51.

Can I just say that I, for one, trust the writers. I hope that they stay true to what makes Being Human so good and don't give into any pressure from the fans or the BBC to change it or keep it going for too long. Series 2 would be good, I am sure, but beyond that I hope they can either be sure to maintain the standard or know when to draw the line. Keep Being Human forever great, rather than letting it become tired.

  • Comment number 52.

hey me again to goadsby owen doesnt go mad because of mitchell it was because of the secert that only the dead no. I didnt no BH has only 6 eps just what are we surpost to do with are evening when its finished PLEASE make another series PLEASE!!!!!!! this programe i one of if not the best thing ive seen in years ive watched every ep at leased 6 times! The actors are great the sets ar brill and the scripes just leave you gob smacked every week ep 5 was so AMAZING ive still not recoved. This show just has to have a second series a show this good just cant just stop thanks to all that have made BH so brillant

  • Comment number 53.

OOh er!! What can I say ... this has been fab. The secret: a) the exact time and date of smug Owen's death b) there is a hell and it will be waiting for him c) he's gonna die of a horrible disfiguring disease

I hope she goes through the door, even though she's a great character ... maybe she could come back as an angel.

  • Comment number 54.

worlds_gayest_ninja (awesome name btw!), I guess it could be seen that way but seeing as Herrick was going to kill mitchell then and there it didn't really make sense to me for him to say 'when the time comes'. That generally suggests that it's a little way off but Mitchell's planned death was right then. I dunno, maybe it's just me, lol!

  • Comment number 55.

I am wondering what back up The Three (or just George, be that as it may) call in to fight the vamps. The vamps, even from what we've seen, have quite a clan. Them Vs 3? I don't think so. Will Tulley make a retun I wonder? Maybe even Bernie? And humans? Hmmmm

  • Comment number 56.

Maybe it wasn't a door to the afterlife (something else magical-remember the wizard comment, no, my imagination is just way ott)... even if it was, it could have been for mitchell. why don't they throw herrick through the door?
i think the secret was something to do with what happens to murderers after death, which could have sent him crazy. if he wasn't freaked out by a ghost i'm not sure he would have been that freaked by a vampire or a werewolf either, it was the secret that sent him over the edge.

i agree with an earlier poster about trusting the writers. i couldn't help but feel that 'lost' was tarnished by fan obsessives and the bizarre stories lead by them too. or maybe they just really didn't have a plan in the first place. the writers for BH seem to have a very clear idea of the path it is heading down and i can't wait to see the result in epi 6.

i hope we see a lot more of owen too, he was amazing. but my crush remains with mitchell.

  • Comment number 57.

i think we definitely need a full die hard fan forum.

  • Comment number 58.

superOchre I was wondering the same thing about the door. Annie's (if it was Annie's not Mitchell's) said 1 High St. at the top whereas the door we saw for gilbert was completely white and plain. I think it may well have been a diversion for Herrick, don't know what could have caused it as I'm not sure whether this world would include wizards but hey anything can happen! And it was hinted at. Also following on from the idea that the door could have been for mitchell, surely his 'death' if he does die would constitute unresolved circumstances, can vampires become ghosts?

  • Comment number 59.

OMG!! Being Human is by far the best thing on TV, i love it!! I was crying buckets when Annies' door arrived and then nearly had an actual turn when Mitchell got staked - I was dizzy with glee when Owen finally go his comeuppance, and as mentioned earlier, i loved watching his descent into madness - Brilliant!!!! Everything about BH is amazing and the casting is spot on.....series 2 better be soon otherwise i will commit a dirty protest at BBC HQ...much love xx

  • Comment number 60.

well have just watched this episode. was fab but am a bit mistified. what dod she whisper to Owen that sent him over the edge?? cant imagine but hope it gets revealed. perhaps the door is for Mitchell and all of them to escape??? this is such a fab series and really makes you question what out human attributes are or arent.... we arent so nice after all these 'monsters' are making us examine them. cant wait for next week

  • Comment number 61.

oh. my. god! this episode was totally awesome! Still trying to digest the ending! Funniest moments got to be when George (bless him!) thinks somethings knocking on THE door. The most unbelievable is what happens to Mitchell! (Ask me in!) as if they would! EVIL HERRICK!
If this greatness is just the second to last episode (i know all are great), imagine what the last ones going to be like!
So hope a series 2 is on the way? Please?

  • Comment number 62.

vampires are already on a par with ghosts i assume, being dead and all.
the whole unresolved circumstance thing is a bit iffy. surely all of us would have unresolved issues if we just died.

  • Comment number 63.

...also is it wrong that i fancy mitchell more when he has black eyes?!

  • Comment number 64.

Fabulous! Another series, please! If necessary cancel one of your 'recycling old tat for dosh' type series to raise the funds, but for God's sake, do more of this!

  • Comment number 65.

Great episode - I will be very upset if any one of the trio disappears / dies / goes through mysterious doors forever! The chemistry between them is brilliant!

George is sooo funny - I love when he had a whisk and his phone charger, to battle the vampires, and when he said they were like two really camp ninjas, ahh I nearly cracked a rib laughing. The way he delivers a line and his physical comedy... awesome.

Mitchell is excellent at playing smoldering and dangerous, the violence bubbling underneath... The other vampires treated him with reverence, but I wish there were more scenes to show he's older / tougher / wiser than the average vamp... otherwise it doesn't make sense that Herrick wanted him on the dark side and views him as so pivotal.

And Annie. Ah, Annie. She does emotional so well. And her cheery 'well I'm dead but let's make the best of it and get the kettle on' scenes are just brilliant. Don't go through the door, Annie!

    Re. the supporting cast:
Owen - very very well played as the sinister ex bf / killer. The stuff where he told her about his affair with Janey was excellent.

Nina - hooray! I love her! I was so happy when they introduced a romantic interest that could ACT! What with that nurse that Mitchell took to the pub, and Lauren - I was beginning to despair!

Lauren - yes, sorry to say it, but I'm glad she's gone! She did the teasing, cheeky side of her character well, but I lost patience with all her whip-lash mood swings, one minute she loves being a vamp and evil, then she hates it and Mitchell for turning her, then she loves it again and loves Mitchell and wants him to be evil with her, and then she hates it so much she wants him to kill her.... Came across like a spoilt brat. *sigh*
Either needed a clearer motivation, or better acting. Possibly both.

Writing from America, here. Went through the trouble of your obnoxiously long registration process just to tell you to please continue the great work. The show is terrific and I can't wait for show 6 and Season 2. My one complaint is how short your television seasons are! We need at LEAST 13 episodes - please!

  • Comment number 67.

I realise, that lots of people will want to know whether Mitchell survives and whether Annie passes over. However i also know how much people would hate it if I posted a massive spoiler which they say without wishing to.

The above link contains episode summaries and contains huge spoilers. So this is your warning don't blame me if you don't want to know.

  • Comment number 68.

our seasons are way too short but i think its got more to do with funding and testing the water than being mean.

  • Comment number 69.

I know THE SECRET - Men with sticks and rope? It's the Morris Dancers of Oblivion!
I had to endure hours of Morris dancing/country dancing lessons at primary school, that would send anyone screaming to the police 'lock me away in a cell please for the love of god!!!' - trust me being undead is a much sweeter option!

  • Comment number 70.

bevaphi wasn't kidding when they said their link contained spoilers. I am terrible and can never resist temptation like that but I really wish I hadn't looked. My advice is don't look!

Being Human team...you know I think you're fab but am growing tired of these forums, so am gonna leave my contributions here. I hope that you don't let pressure from the fans or the BBC ruin this series, as has happened to so many others. Keep it true to what you always intended and end it before it egts tired.

Other than that, thank you so much for giving us all such good insights, and for responding to our questions so promptly.

  • Comment number 71.

I don't think I'd be upset if vampires were real, just as long as they all look like Aidan Turner.
I'd prefer to be bitten Lauren style, naked in the throws of passion, rather than run over by a bus.

Fleur turning on me suddenly with crossed fingers going crchhhhhh now that would freak me out, no wonder Mitchell looked a bit shook up.

  • Comment number 72.

Noooooooooooooooooooooo! That is all I have to say on the matter.
Oh and also congratulations to George who, in his moment of strength, made me unintentionally squeal very loudly. And please don't die again Mitchell, damn it Herric!

  • Comment number 73.

Yep - GUYS if you don't want to know don't even peak.
I can resist anything except temptation!
I thought I'd just read the first 3 words of the summary & wished I hadn't. Managed to stop myself from reading any more.

  • Comment number 74.

Oh_Suzi .. now about that bus versus throws of passion thing ... what about if it was herrick administering the bite? (that of course means he is partaking in the foreplay before)

  • Comment number 75.

I'd go for a bit of Herrick..

  • Comment number 76.

..If he wore an Aidan Turner mask? Now that is a creepy thought.

If Aidan wasn't on the menu? Id probably settle for Seth & what the hell I'd quite like a bit of Herrick too. - He can entertain me with magic tricks and give me an endless supply of 50ps

  • Comment number 77.

my oh my you're just a vampire floozie Oh_Suzi :-)

  • Comment number 78.

OK guys there is another trailer for next week on youtube. just search for being human episode 6 preview. now it is a spoiler you have been warned .. but it also has me even more excited. Lets just say annie has been somewhat transformed :-)

  • Comment number 79.

Not at all, I'm quite Choosey

  • Comment number 80.

i can't find the preview. it must be very well hidden or non-existent.

  • Comment number 81.

    oh its just appeared, weird.

  • Comment number 82.

WOW OMG what an episode - the best yet. Killing off Mitchell would be a serious loss to me so please don't let him die. Everything about him is so fabulous - his eyebrows, leather jacket, fingerless gloves, the way he smokes and walks, only Mitchell could make a hospital porter's uniform look sexy. Maybe I just love vampires - anyone read the teenage Stephanie Meyer books - Twilight etc? The Cullens sound dreamy.
Totally agree that the wardrobe dept has been seriously brilliant. Annie was definitely wearing slightly different clothing in epi 5 to reflect her "moving on "
Like George, I think I let out a bit of wee when Herrick struck.
Love Nina and George - Russell Tovey is the best actor on BBC lately.( Little Dorritt)
Utterly brilliant writing BBC3.Devastated that next week will be the last for a long while.

  • Comment number 83.

does anyone think its possible for annie if she goes through the door to go between the afterlife and our world if she wanted to?

  • Comment number 84.

Oh Lordy!! please please dont let any of Annie, Mitchell or George go!! I adore this show it rocks!!
And yeah im sure theres something going on between Mitchell and Annie too!! That kiss wasnt written for nothing im sure! And the hug at the end was one of a lovers one!! Or am i being too much of a romantic? I dont think i can handle waiting till sunday to watch the next one! I hope George kicks the vampires butts! He is just cute!! hehe Mitchell is amazing hmmm! Great show, oh yeah, and i was nearly hitting the screen when Owen was shouting at Annie, how can he hit such a pretty girl! hehe x

  • Comment number 85.

WOW, an absolutely amazing episode, the whole Being Human team have really outdone themselves!!! It had the perfect mixture of comedy, drama and amazingness that this series has become known for, I was literally rolling around in tears when Annie first tried to haunt Owen
''Sapphire and... Steel. Confess Owen, Confessssssss''.
The fight scene at the funeral parlour was hilarious and so well written (congratulations Toe-Bee). The actors showed their chops for sure in this episode and, aside from the Chosen Trio, I think a special mention should go to the actor who plays Owen, He is an amazing actor, he made Owen so hateable, it's ridiculous (in a good way lol)!!! (I haven't seen him in anything else, so if anyone has, could you please tell me.

    *Last thing, promise*

I can't believe no one has pointed this out but, when Owen goes to the house at the end of the episode and he is confronted by Annie, Mitchell and George, I got a chilling sense of déjà vu, that scene reminds me so much of a scene in X-Men 2, when the X-Men confront the President in the White House,
Professor X freezes the room (as the President is about to do a live interview), there is one bit that really gave me a flashback: when Annie is talking about Mitchell
''Mitchell was killing 80 years before you were born''
and his eyes go black, that is so similar to when Prof X is speaking and there is a flash of lighhtning and you see Storm's eyes go completely white. Even the way they are spaced out in the front room reminds me of that X-Men 2 scene, anyways, sorry for writing so much. XX

Roll on Sunday (or Saturday as I definitely won't be able to wait lol)!!!

  • Comment number 86.

Speaking of saturday: does anyone know for sure whether episode six will still be put online on saturday or because it's the last one they'll decide to make us wait till Saturday?

Okay i need some advice here. I am so so tempted to click on the link and also look at the trailer but from what i've read the link would really spoil it for me and everyone recommends not to who has. No one has said anything about the trailer though. If i watched that would that spoil too much for me? I'm in a dilemma because i really want to know what happens to Annie and Mitchell but i don't want to spoil it for myself and i know i will regret it afterwards. So could anyone who has watched the preview for episode six on youtube please tell me how spoilerish it is. Does it give away too much?

Also this is to the manager of this website. Are we still going to get a new blog everyday? I really hope so because they are what i am relying on to keep me going till Saturday but so far we haven't got a new one today and yesterday we only got this one asking for our comments. This isn't a complaint because i really appreciate all that you have put on, it really is amazing, but i just wanted to know so i don't have to keep checking back here every few hours to see if a new blog has been posted? Thanks for all the effort you have put in already to this website.

  • Comment number 87.

Just pondering the religeous symbol thing. When George flashed his Star of David a second time, Seth told him it wouldn't work again. Perhaps Mitchell has become imune to it. Although thinking out loud here Mitchell did recoil slightly when Fleur made the sign of the cross at him. Hmmm.......

  • Comment number 88.

Ok firstly oh my god!! Why do I have to do sch pointless things as working while you all get to talk about Being human on here ive missed out on loads its tok me about an hour just to read through all the new comments lol woaaaah.

Lionesskeeper I really like your idea about the star affecting seth perhaps because he was jewish etc however, just before he gets killed (if he does actually die I haven’t made my mind up yet lol) he says it wont work because there are too many of them? I doubt they are all Jewish and hmm I know what I mean but I don’t quite know how to word it! Im still inclined to believe the reason it doesn’t affect Mitchell is something to do with him being … well good almost (again dunno how to word it:-S) I don’t think he can be part vampire after all you cant be part dead! You either are or aren’t however, in ep 4 he says “the thirst for blood wasn’t there it was like the human me won through” so for some reason he seems to have more control over his addiction over his head more than the others if that makes sense? Maybe because he hasn’t killed much for such a long time. I know it’s a totally different world and concept but in Harry potter they say that each time a person kills their soul becomes more and more damaged – I know vampires aren’t meant to have souls hence they don’t have a reflection but I don’t think the BH lot have taken this route – Mitchell certainly has a soul of sorts otherwise he wouldn’t be bothered about not killing would he? So perhaps the fact that he has overcome his desire to kill has meant his soul has remained more intact therefore there is less evil inside of him than in the others – therefore less of him to be affected by the religious imagery. Maybe lol. Again sorry for the waffle!

  • Comment number 89.

just about to search youtube but i already know what happens will let you know in a sec :-)

  • Comment number 90.

Ps. I also thought about him looking scared at fleurs cross in ep 4 which could be another bit of evidence for your theory lionesskeeper however, I think I would have looked like that if some woman id just met did that in my face and hissed at me lol.

Rargh I have loads more to say but better shut up its too long already!

Yeah I had to look for a spoiler as soon as id watched it I wouldn’t have made it through the week otherwise but it hasn’t made me wanna watch it any less but I have a job to concentrate on lol.

Oh and yeah we’d all like a bit of vampire action now wouldn’t we :-) and hey with Herrrick it’s a double wammy – vampire sexyness and a police uniform what more could a woman want lol although after what hes done to Mitchell I may just have to stab him in the back for that! But yeah Mitchell does look sexy in his uniform but then I think Aidan would be gorgeous in a bin liner it’s the accent the walk and for some reason yeah the smoking? Not normally a sexy thing - oh you are just one big mystery…

  • Comment number 91.

Ok i cant find the thing on youtube :-( really wanted to see anyway but just realised my apostrophes are coming out like ? so hmm sorry bout that. anyone got a link to that youtube thing? it wont come up must have been hidden. As for the spoilers i dont think it ruins it - not for me like i said i would have actually gone out of my mind i think lol this shows already turned me into a right nut job lol i have no social life i just sit watching it over and over until i feel ive worked every little thing out and even then im usually wrong so now i have to come up with 3/4 different theories to give myself a better chance lol. woo ep 5 on bbc 3 in 45 mins everyone :-D

  • Comment number 92.

Wow! well im now screwed for the rest of the week . . .what the hell is gonna happen? and you cheeky gits, not showing any shots of mitchell or annie in the "next time" trailer!!!!
    love it as always!
might be the wine but did anyone else cry when annie said her goodbyes????

  • Comment number 93.

OK miss beadie the youtube one has spoiler about annie but nothing about mitchell if that helps at all its worth a watch id say but up to you :-) you have to go into play list results or something and its about halfway down well it was on mine dunno if each is different

  • Comment number 94.

OMFG this is possibly the best show that's been on in years. How can there only be six episodes? Please tell me a second series is being comissioned!

It's so good to have something adult, intelligent and British to watch.

  • Comment number 95.

No i cried lol i never cry at anything this is the first episode to make me cry i cried at Laurens bit just because i finally really like her for a minute and then gone and i feel reallysorry or her think her and mitchell could have been good together and i kinda thought they mihgt end up together i think she really did like him and certainly cared about him and maybe if he hadnt kept pushing her away she might have been better maybe he could have helped her but then to be fair she didnt exactly help herself either she wasnt exactly consistent but then surely that is just a true trait of an addict the mood swings the anger the complete rawness when it comes to the drug i still dont believe she was bad and this proved it and i think it was done really well - really poignent (no idea how to spell that but you know what i mean!) by that time i pretty much carried on crying til the end when i jumped up nearly threw my laptop flying and shouted so loudly im pretty sure i woke the neighbours i certainly got glared at next morning! (i watched it about 3 am when i got back from work lol) oops.

  • Comment number 96.

those of you (mostly females quelle surpise) who are in torment over whether mitchell makes it or not .. there is a tv guide online i found and it gives a synopsis for every episode including episode 6. search hard enough and you will find if you really want it bad enough. And of course if you don't then just don't search! simple :-)

  • Comment number 97.

watching ep5 again .. when mitchell goes into undertakers cellar and finds the door locked .. he then picks the lock and opens it. Er hang on there mr vampire soldier .. you can't cross a threshold without being invited .. and that's a door and therefore a threshold - n'est pas? :-D

  • Comment number 98.

Its just a room in the building the threshold as far as im aware just means entering the building itself :-) sorry lol (yes i think about these things way way too much!)

  • Comment number 99.

thanks for that clarification eagle_eyes4 :-) Just watchin some more ep5 .. anyone else spot the nod to monty python life of brian? herrick going on about what the romans did for us. lol

  • Comment number 100.

I am assuming the "threashold barrier" for vamps is the same as it was on Buffy. ie. public places are freely accessable. Otherwise vaps would be severely restricted.

can someone tell me who "Seth" is? Did I miss a character?
