The John Peel Lecture

BBC 6 Music presents the inaugural John Peel Lecture from The Lowry theatre, Salford Quays, broadcast live on Red Button on Monday 31st October at 7pm.

Pete Townshend

Pete Townshend has been invited to deliver this year's lecture and will examine the current state of music media. In an age of free downloads and a disposable attitude to music, he'll discuss whether 'creative' people can earn a living and, without radio play, if the 'unpolished' music that John Peel championed can find an audience.
