That New Band Smell: I am the Cosmos

Salutations to you, thirsty people of the new band sphere. This week on our ‘That New Band Smell’, we have a side project from the bassist from Furlo. The drummer from former ATL  favourites Skruff branches out on his own and we get in tune with one of Dublin’s hotly tipped bands.

Owl Parliament – Pull Apart
Furlo’s bassist swaps four string down strokes for six stringed acoustic sweetness.

Aodhan Doherty – Crease Folds Out
Early demo’s from the sticksman of now defunct Strabane/Derry act Skruff. The production isn’t quite there but the songs most definitely are.

I am the Cosmos - Dislocate
I am the Cosmos are Ross Turner and Cian Murphy from Dublin. They first popped their heads over the horizon a year ago with a few tracks posted online. These embryonic sonic twinkling’s whetted the appetite of the Dublin taste makers which led to them becoming one of Dublin's most hotly tipped acts.

‘Dislocate’ is reminiscent of Simian Mobile Disco albeit a slowed down semi conscious version writhing around in a sedative slumber.
