are the BBC stopping access to all podcasts from iTunes, I prefer this option as I can log on and it downloads all the podcasts I have yet to listen to, I fear that sounds does not have this option?

I really don't understand why the BBC have blocked cricket podcasts
for a year or 2 I've listened to 'Stumped' BBC podcast when I retire I have 4 Home mini speakers so I can continue to listen
please sort this out with google asap
Cricket podcasts are eaily available on Amazon Alexa so blocking then on Google Home is biased arbitrary & wrong
when will the cricket podcasts come back to streaming on Home Mini ?

WHEN WILL THIS BE SORTED OUT?

The BBC shouldn't care how people choose to listen to their podcasts. Whether it's on Google products or not. Do the BBC care what brand of TV or radio we use? Of course not, that would be ludicrous.
Fragmentation is becoming a real problem, with companies insisting that you use their app, when the public just want everything in the same place. Please don't join in BBC. As it is, I do 90% of my podcast listening on Google Home speakers. So my BBC podcast listening has dropped by the same amount.

That would be great if BBC Sounds was a halfway decent app, but as I don't listen to podcasts on my phone, I don't want a crap app that can't cast to my Google Home Mini. As a result, I've stopped listening to most BBC podcasts as it's just too much hassle. Unfortunately, after twenty five years, I might just have come to the end of the road with the BBC.

It seems that it’s not just podcasts that are affected by this nonsense. Google Home will now not stream any BBC radio stations! This is just political game playing by the BBC who are clearly struggling to remain relevant in a fast-moving area of technology and digital services.

It's clear from the above that the BBC’s beef with Google is that it doesn't provide audience data, and indeed the BBC's Distribution Policy allows the witholding of content if "data" is returned.
That's a terrible reason to withhold content we've paid from the millions and millions of Android and Google Home users in the UK.
No, I won't use BBC Sounds. It's rubbish.

I don't really understand this at all. I've tried searching for numerous podcasts (BBC and non BBC) the top results are either links directly to the creators site, or Apple Podcasts, or another podcasting app. I'm not getting any podcast links that are good specific.
The BBC sounds app isn't even close to being ready for prime time, with many features (Chromecast, Android Auto) missing.

Just wanted to flag that, at least for the time being, I hardly use BBC Sounds app as it does not integrate at all (as far as I can tell) with Android Auto. I'm also a UK TV licence-fee payer quite a few times over.

Some Podcasts from the BBC (Friday night comedy to name one of them) appear to have been reinstated. Has a resolution been found between Google and the BBC, or has Google usurped the ban?
