Great stuff, I like the lean toward exploration rather than hierarchy. How about a Wikipedia-like 'Random' button (with a few rough category filters perhaps)?
Or a system to request certain things are made available?
My main issue with the Iplayer TV/radio websites is that most of the rabbit holes I follow have frustrating dead ends.
Thank you for continuing to improve a wonderful service!

In Our Time is a joy. I've just listened to David Hume (6 Oct 2011). This trails the next programme on the voyages of the Ming dynasty due to be broadcast the following week. Unfortunately this download is not available either under History or, as far as I can see, under the other sections of IOT.
The problem seems to be that there are only 7 pages of downloads listed and so some of the earlier programmes in the more popular sections cannot be accessed. (By 'section' I mean Science, Philosophy, Culture, etc.)
If the problem is related to the 7 page cut-off then the problem should be greater the further back one goes. I find this so. The Culture section has fewer podcasts than most and so the list goes back further - to 1998 and 1999. On listening to these podcasts references are made to many 'coming' programmes which, presumably are in other but unavailable sections..

Seriously need a way to subscribe to podcasts or programmes in the iplayer radio app and get notifications of new episodes.
