Step 5 of the Cycle of Analysis: Evaluate progress and identify next steps

One of the main reasons for recording and monitoring progress is so you can make informed changes to your development plan.

Adapting the areas that aren't working means you can avoid hitting a plateau and continue moving in an upwards trajectory to reach your long-term goal.

There are many general changes you can make to a development plan:

  • change the location of your session
  • change your training partner
  • increase or decrease the intensity of your sessions
  • make your goals easier or harder
  • add in opposition
  • increase or decrease the time of sessions
  • change the approach being used
  • increase or decrease the frequency of your sessions
