Why should the Church focus on bringing about community cohesion?
The Church does not need to bring the community together, it is the job of the government.

It can teach against issues like discrimination, racism and poverty etc.

How can a local church help the community throughout the week?
It could run events like homework clubs to help people from different backgrounds mix.
It could run discos at the weekend.
Why do Church leaders find it harder to help the community today than in the past?
Church leaders are too busy to help the community.
It isn’t the job of Church leaders to help the community.
Church leaders have less influence and are less respected than in the past.
What is the Salvation Army?
It is a Protestant denomination which seeks to help look after others in the community.
It is the title of a leader in the Protestant Church.
It is the name of a military group.
How does the Salvation Army help others?
It engages in charitable work based on the teachings of Jesus, it does all it can to help others (eg elderly people and drug addicts).
It trains Protestant ministers.
It translates the Bible into new languages.
Why do some people believe the Church should not speak about moral and social issues?
The Church does not know what it believes.
The Church should focus on converting people to Christianity and not on addressing moral and social issues.
There are not enough ministers to do everything.
