Path to civil rights

1954: Brown versus Board of Education of Topeka was a landmark case. With the help of the NAACP, Reverend Brown and the other plaintiffs won the right in the Supreme Court to send their children (pictured) to a white school.

Various events and protests took place to shape the Civil Rights Movement. Some involved major civil rights groups, some individuals, and some shocked white people so much that they decided it was time for things to change.
