Conclusion

The concluding battle between Macbeth and MacDuff, resulting in Macbeth's death and Malcolm's crowning

Act five, Scene five

Lady Macduff and her children have now been murdered and the action is speeding up. Lady Macbeth has been sleepwalking. In this scene Macbeth learns his wife has killed herself.

The Scottish lords are preparing to attack but Macbeth thinks he will be safe.

Act five, Scene eight

In the battle, Macbeth comes face to face with Macduff. Macbeth says no man born of woman can harm him, but Macduff says he was taken from his mother's womb before he was ready to be born.

They fight and Macbeth is killed. Macduff carries Macbeth's crown to Malcolm, the new king of Scotland.
