Before the murder

Act one, Scene seven

Macbeth is trying to make up his mind about whether or not he should murder King Duncan.

Lady Macbeth has already made up her mind, Duncan must be murdered.

Act two, Scene one

Macbeth waits for his wife to ring a bell which is to be the signal all is ready to murder Duncan.

He imagines a dagger he cannot grasp and tries to prepare his mind for the evil deed.
