Using gu, gun and gum

Gu, gun or gum?

Very often you come across a statement in Gaelic introduced by one of the following gu bheil / gun robh / gum bi. The forms gu / gun / gum can be translated by the English word 'that'. In English you can leave the word that out of a statement and still maintain the sense. In Gaelic you cannot do this.
