Whatever computer system or software you are planning to use, it is always best to make sure that it is compatible with your camera and camera format.
You should always shoot some test footage and try importing and logging it on your computer and editing software.
If there are any problems you can try and solve those before you begin shooting your film.
Remember, some older camcorders such as those using tapes and recordable DVD discs may not work with modern editing software.
Likewise, if you are using older computers or editing software these might not work with more up to date video formats.
You should refer to the manufacturer’s user guide for further advice.
