Ask the pupils in the class how many other ways they can make 20 pence. Put a selection of coins on each table making sure that the 20p coins are removed. Ask each child to find other ways to make 20p. Maybe you too could swap their coins for a jelly bean? Other amounts could be exchanged depending on the ability of the learner. If the jelly beans in class are 50p, which coins could you use to swap for a 50p? If the jelly beans are 5p, which coins could you use to swap?
