The class could investigate the impact of fleeing your home country. Students could study the background to the conflicts mentioned in the clip, such as the Jews during the Second World War, and the modern examples of Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan. The class could also create a role-play about fleeing from conflict, including what they would take with them, who they would ask for help or where they would go. This could lead into a discussion on the extent to which safe countries have a duty to support refugees escaping danger.
