The internet is compared to roads and the world wide web is what you can see from the roads. Buildings would be websites and the traffic the content that is being transferred.

Children could be tasked with using a search engine to find out more about Sir Tim Berners-Lee and how he invented the world wide web. They could come up with a presentation to explain how the world wide web works in a simple and informative manner. Can they think of any other real world comparisons aside from roads and buildings?
