An introduction to the slate industry in north Wales by means of a visit to the National Slate Museum on the site of the former Dinorwig quarry in Llanberis. It includes views of the area as well as archive film of work in the quarry.
This is a Welsh language clip.
This clip can be used when discussing Wales and its culture. Students could be given a vocabulary sheet to enable them to follow and understand the clip as they view it and then a listening and comprehension task could be set. Another possible task would be to ask learners to research the slate quarries, then work in pairs to create further content for the clip in a presentation using a range of media.
