To follow up on what they have seen, pupils could draw a variety of animals on cards. With your help, they could sort these cards in various ways. For example, they could group the cards into ‘animals that just grow bigger as they get older’ and ‘animals that undergo metamorphosis and change shape as they get older’. Or pupils could find out which animals are born live from their mother’s body and which hatch from an egg. The children could then group their cards according to these criteria.
