An animation that discusses and illustrates what humans need to maintain good health. ‘Health’ is defined as keeping your body ‘working at its best’. A park scene shows us many different activities suitable for people of different ages and abilities. Pupils could be encouraged to identify and comment on these activities, as they watch. As well as exercise, the clip also makes the point that good hygiene, plenty of sleep, and eating a balanced diet with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, are all essential aspects of good health.
After viewing, you could ask pupils to list ways that they try to keep healthy. The children could go on to work in groups and draw up a weekly exercise schedule. The class could try out these different exercise schedules and vote on their favourite ones.
