Eddie Butler tells the story of mustard gas development at the Rhydymwyn Valley Works in the Alyn Valley near Mold in World War Two and the secret development work of the atomic bomb.
Students could discuss why they think the British population received gas masks at the beginning of World War Two. In groups pupils could prepare a debate either in favour or against Britain developing mustard gas bombs during the war. Students could question what Wales' role was in the developement of the Atomic bomb. A discussion could then take place around whether the world's leading nations that produce weapons of mass destruction should condemn less powerful nations for attempting to develop their own nuclear capabilities.
