Look at reasons why people joined, based on the negative factors they wished to prevent and the positive factors they wanted to benefit from. Compare the extreme form of patriotism and religion views represented by the Klan with right wing movements in other countries; Nazism, Fascism in Italy and the UK, Falange in Spain.
