An introduction to the first people of Scotland written about in history. They were recorded in writings by a Roman historian called Tacitus, who wrote a description of Mons Graupius, a battle between the Caledonians (Picts) and the invading Roman Army.

First broadcast:
9 November 2008

Students could use the clip initially to examine the history of the pre-Roman tribes. They could also use it to examine the uses of a history created by the Romans, and not by the tribes themselves.
