Barnaby Bear explores the culinary delights France has to offer. Barnaby is in the kitchen with Jean-Luc who makes crepes. Crepes are made of milk, flour, eggs, butter and salt. Barnaby eats very well when he is in France and he enjoys visiting the local markets. He learns how to say 'apple' and 'potato' in French.
Children could set up their own French market and learn the words for other fruits and vegetables in French. They could write a 'Day in the Life of...' diary entry from Barnaby Bear, detailing what he has learnt about life in France. The children could begin creating their own French translation dictionary and continue to make their own through their own research.
