A description of the Act of Union between England and Wales in 1536 and the effects of this on the Welsh language. The Act, established by Henry Vlll, (Henry Tudor), made English the only official tongue.

Having watched the clip, students could discuss why they think Henry VIII was so opposed to the use of the Welsh language and how they think Welsh speakers might have reacted to the clause. Students could then create a letter of protest against this clause in the Act of Union and their responses could be evaluated.
