How we see our own bodies can change the way we live our lives. Young women who have suffered from anorexia candidly discuss their thoughts about what it means to them, and how it has affected their lives. A friend also talks about realising that someone close was ill with the disease. The consequences of being anorexic are highlighted.

Pupils could research the extent, the early indicators and consequences of anorexia. Pupils could investigate local and national support that individuals can access, and what might encourage or discourage them from seeking help. Pupils could explore through discussion the responsibilities we have collectively if we believe someone is at risk, and the help and support that is available to them. The students' findings could be communicated to a wider audience in a leaflet, a presentation, a poster or a web page.
