A father and son go on a fishing trip in Marseille and Les Iles du Frioul. They go to the market and show us different types of fish. The son buys tickets to cross by ferry and we are introduced to different parts of Marseille and Les Iles du Frioul. The pair then go fishing.
Students could discuss the words for kinds of fish they know in English first or research the names of common fish and use the clip to help note their French translation. Students could 'fish' using magnet fishing rods and pictures or different kinds of fish with a paper clip to catch. When students catch a fish they could say what kind it is in English and French. Students could also count the number of fish they have caught to revise numbers. Students could practise a simple role-play modelled on the conversation in the clip in which they buy boat tickets. The clip could be paused on the sign with the boat times for students to refer to in the conversation.
