Papo the parrot flies into a primary school in Spain and spends the day with the pupils. They teach him some everyday Spanish phrases related to school life, and he learns about Spanish school routines.
This clip could be used to encourage pupils to introduce themselves. Pupils could sit in a circle and take it in turns to say hello and give their name. Pupils could then play a pass the parcel type game with a soft toy like Papo. The teacher can play some Spanish music and while the music is playing, pupils pass the toy around the circle. When the music stops, the class ask ¿cómo te llamas? and the person with the toy has to reply with their name.
