A quick guide to Venus, which is so bright, it can be seen from Earth without having to use a telescope. It is an extremely hot planet and, because of its high temperature, has no surface water. The water just evaporates into the atmosphere.

The clip is a useful way of stimulating discussion with the children about planets in our Solar System. Ask the children to share their knowledge about any planets they know facts about. How is their planet different to Earth? (colour, size, location). Watch the clip and discuss Venus' unique features. Contrast with Earth and other planets, making a simple fact file on Venus.
