An outline of the common features of birds of prey and a look at the birds of prey found at a Scottish farm.
The clip could provide a starting point for looking at variation within animal groups, in particular the bird kingdom. Children could compare and contrast the bird of prey to the urban birds, identifying key features and explaining why these features are important to both species. For example, birds of prey have sharp beaks to help tear flesh off their prey, while urban birds have shorter beaks mainly suited to eating nuts and fruits, or smaller insects.
