Using the Millennium Ecosystem Assessment, students should investigate the influence of climatic change on large scale ecosystems and research the likely consequences of a changing climate on ecosystems and people. After researching the role of the fauna in the clip within food chains and webs, they could then investigate, describe, and analyse changes to sea temperatures around the Welsh coastline. Assess the evidence of this as a result of global warming. Assign students the task of investigating if there are any positive economic and environmental aspects of such change, eg on coastal tourism.
