A day at a primary school in Marseille, including lessons and games. We see children at school from the beginning of the school day to the end. Being French
First broadcast:
6 March 2009

Before watching the clip, students could be asked to make a short list of the possible differences between primary schools in France and Scotland. Students could be asked to tick the guesses from their list as they watch the clip. Students could note each of the activities shown in the clip and then use these to create a timetable for a French school day. They could use vocabulary learned to create a timetable for their own school day. Students could also match a picture of each of the children shown in the clip with their favourite subject and type of book. Each student could then use this as a model to describe their favourite subject and type of book.
