A group of French school children sing 'Old MacDonald' in French. Using animal images to illustrate, they teach the French word for a dog, a pig, a horse and a duck as well as the noises these animals make in French.
This clip could be used to introduce animal words. Students could be organised into groups and each group could be assigned an animal in French. The students could make or play animal noises and the group with that animal could jump up and shout their animal name in French. Students could make and play a game of pairs or dominoes using animal pictures and their corresponding French translation. Students could also learn this song and sing along with the clip or add in their own verses for new animals.
